Motherhood burnout // the worst week of my life!
Hi friends,
Sorry i'm not back with a more trilling video this week but I wanted to be open and honest with you and let you know exactly how iv'e been feeling. It's like i've been running at 100mph lately and everything just came to a head last week. I hope someone finds comfort in this video if you're feeling the same way...... I think it was probably the hardest week i've ever had with the boys.
Happy Tuesday - heres to a better week. See you next time,
Natalie x

Hi Natalie, I've been a silent watcher since February. My boys were born in March and I cannot thank you enough for your realness and refreshing content. I'm currently in the weeds with them with the crankiness, clinginess and just overwhelming exhaustion that comes with trying to be all and fix all. Sending you lots of hugs. You're doing great! Praying that your mom's travel plans this December come to pass. What a blessing to have family around! Take care of yourself and enjoy all the snuggles with your sweet little ones. xx

Hey Sylvia, Oh wow thank you so much for taking the time to comment and let me know you've been following along and have twins yourself - CONGRATULATIONS they must be hitting the 6/7 month mark right about now. It has taken me all this time to realize I cannot fix and do all and yet im still trying to haha. Thanks again for reaching out means so much that you follow along. Take care of those little ones. xx

Thank you for being honest. I can relate to this video so much. I was having a hard day yesterday with my boys, and I honestly thought I wasn’t going to survive the day. What really helps me is to walk away for a few mins or take deep breaths and return back to the situation. I keep looking back at the last few months thinking how fast they’ve gone by and remind myself that it won’t always be like this. There will come a time I will miss them needing me or just them being this small. When my husband comes home, I ask him to watch them while I go out and grab a coffee or go shopping for a bit. Just know that you are doing a great job and your boys love you and that you’re probably one of the best parts of their everyday. Thank you again for taking time to do these videos. I know that they are resonating with many twin moms like myself. Praying that your family can visit for Christmas!

Hi Sarah, oh you are so right. I have only lately started to realize that sometimes i jsut need to walk away and take a few minutes. The crying is unbearable and sometimes you forget just how little they are and that they're just trying to communicate something. I really love your outlook - i will remember that in the coming months ... 'to them we are everything' :) sending you lots of love xx

I honestly don’t know how you do it all without help. Really wow it’s quite amazing and you are doing an amazing job it’s really inspiring, I really am so grateful for your videos!! It’s so hard with the crying not to feel frustrated especially because you can’t pick them both up so one is basically always crying - it’s so hard and makes me really emotional. It’s such a crazy constant expansion of patience and love. I always feel like I could actually do anything now as the mental barriers you have to cross being a multiple mother are crazy. Keep going you are amazing and your family will make it for sure!!

So much solidarity... My twins both got a cold after a week of daycare. They are fussy all the time no matter what we do. And all the schedules are messed up and they don't want to nap or sleep... It's so so hard to live through these moments, but t's comforting to know we are not alone. So glad that your family will be coming!!! Sending you positive thoughts & hugs!

Oh bless you Natalie motherhood is really hard work and it most definitely is a marathon. Listening to you brought back so many memories of the hard days I had with my three when they were young. Realising that it doesnt matter about the housework, jobs etc. when they need you or are consuming your time you need to accept you cant do everything. When I did get a little time I would set myself one goal to do in a week and then gradually either increase the number of things I did over the week or complete them in less time. Raising children is a full time job so anything else we get done is a bonus. Men are definitely different as they can ignore the crying and tantrums, sometimes I think there is a bit of hoping Mum will sort them out knowing we cant ignore it! xx

Hi Lynne, thank you so much for the advise and wisdom. i actually remember you saying before how it helps to set just one goal and work on that and then build on it when you can. i need to work on doing this as im sure it would make me feel so much better! thank you for watching and your never ending support - it means so so much to me :) xx

Oh hun this looks and sounds so familiar! My girls are the same right now, they want me, they walk and bonk and then I have to run and console for 2 minutes straight hoping the other twin is quiet for the time being. Twin parenting is hard, and you have to go easy on yourself, yes the dishes and the cleaning can wait, the little munchkins can’t always wait. I do the same, when they are awake it’s baby time I pretty much don’t walk away from them, until nap time and then it’s 1 hour of go go crazy cleaning, cooking, laundry!

Don’t worry we are still avid followers! We learn so much from you. We hope you can start to enjoy filming again because we wouldn’t ever want you to stop - it would be like when take that split up all over again! (Unless Henry and Jack start a solo career 😂)

I am newly pregnant with twins and just found your channel. I love all of your content so much. These will be babies 5&6 for me 😳. From your last video it kinda sounds like your babies may be ready to go down for 1 long nap during the day rather than the 2 naps. It's such a hard transition time but if you can get them into the new routine of 1 long nap it may help. Obviously I don't know your situation so take it with a pinch of salt

When my singleton turned 1, a month later I got a full blown toddler with a completely different set of challenges. I remember having the same sort of week! I think it’s a developmental thing!? I tried to follow my momma instinct and of course looked some stuff up. I discussed certain things with my husband & all of the sudden we are raising a toddler. It’s certainly a harder season for me as a mom but like anything it’s a learning curve. I’m sure you’ll find your groove. Now when my twins reach that age I pray I don’t lose my marbles 😅

Hey Tierni, Oh my goodness YES this is exactly how I feel. I think as well that was my realization - this is how it's going to be for the next year (or 3!!) just when I am getting used to the way their being they go and learn a bunch of new things and I am in the deep end again haha!! BUT You have twins and an older little one so my admiration is just all for you mama!!

Thank you for this video. ❤️ I know what you are going through. I have 9 month old twins and an almost 3 year old. It is so hard sometimes. It feels so good knowing we are not alone. Thank you for being open and honest.
