Mothra's deaths are always bitter sweet! I'm always saddened by her sacrifice but when her offspring hatch. It fills me with a sense of hope! I hope they give the Queen of monsters the spotlight she deserves in movie!

I agree Mothra is very benevolent. Godzilla & Rodan usually only care about protecting the Earth because they know how destructive human are but Mothra wants to protect everything and everyone. She challenged Ghidorah alone in a old film realized she wasn’t enough to beat him then convinced Rodan & Godzilla to help her defeat Ghidorah to protect the Earth. Mothra is very selfless and kind.

Hey, Meredith here. There is literally so much on Mothra that I could say right now, but I'll try to keep it as short as I can. Mothra is my 2nd favorite Kaiju in the entire Monsterverse, I honestly have know idea what this world would ever be like without her. Sure I am absolutely captivated and entranced and enthralled by her astounding, gorgeous, stunning, beautiful, powerful, magical and unique powers and abilities in her Rebirth movies and even the strength and sheer wind power she had in Godzilla vs. Mothra, but out of all that I've ever seen including her new abilities in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, YES I AGREE that her ability and willingness to sacrifice herself for the good of the world, humanity and Godzilla speaks the highest and greatest volumes EVER. It still breaks my heart to watch her die from anything that would kill her, but that never stops me from believing that she will ALWAYS return and wanting to see more. Mothra is NOW and FOREVER the one and only QUEEN OF THE MONSTERS and the QUEEN OF MY HEART and she will NOW and FOREVER have the GREATEST POWER anyone could EVER have!!!!!!!!!! From what I understand and I know there are a few veriations to this but mothra always lays an egg upon emerging from her cocoon and upon dying or being kill essentially the memories and experiences are somehow transferred via some telepathic link mothra has with its offspring, basically it's a unique form of immortality in which it's not just a new mothra but the past generations before her combined. Still didn't stop me from crying every time she was on the big screen.

Dis is the 1st time i cried for a beautiful monster

I saw "Godzilla vs the Thing" in a local theater in 1964, and that was the first time Mothra appeared against Godzilla. Mothra's first battle was great, and it was the first time she died and her two larvae (this is a "spoiler") cover Godzilla with silk, knocking it into the sea. I have also watched all the other Mothra movies, and all the Godzilla movies, too, so I expect to see how Legendary created this new battle between them or together against Ghidorah. Trivia: in this movie, Godzilla is seen wiping off the explosions from the Army firing at it. That was not acting! The actor in the suit was being burned for real, and he is trying to put out the pyrotechnic fires actually burning the suit!

From the beginning I always said Mothra will be the deciding factor in Godzilla defeating Ghidorah 🦋

Mothra is the most touching film character I have ever come across. She’s such an amazing and sweet character shown by her sacrifices for the earth and mankind. She’s the true hero our earth deserves

My husband has sacrificed so much in our time together. Most giving man I have ever met. If not for him I wouldn't have lived as long as I have. He changed my life. He has no greed. He has trained in 8 martials. He hurts all the time and it barely slows him down. He is 54 he looks 40. I will never marry another man. No one could match him. Like he says. Once you drive a corvette you can't drive a Chevette or a focus or a Sonic or any a PT Cruiser or as he calls them PT LOSER.

I remember seeing this movie with the family one night, my niece, nephew and mother all were so emotional when Mothra charged Ghidora, and they originally thought it would be a stupid monster movie. Very well made character.

Have you noticed Mothra’s god rays are the same color as King Ghidorah’s gravity beams? And Mothra also has that same bluish glow like Godzilla’s dorsal back plates whenever Godzilla uses his atomic breath. I think there is a connection. That is Mothra’s new secret weapon in KOTM.

now that i've seen this video, i feel as if mothra will sacrifice her life to protect godzilla or perhaps Madison Russell. in the final trailer that released a few days ago, there was a moment where Madison Russell screamed in anger and lead to Godzilla firing his atomic blast at king Ghidorra in fury. This could be a hint to how Ghidorra will not only be defeated, Ghidorra is gonna get fucked up big time by an enraged king of the monster for murdering his queen which may explain the possible shot of godzilla in his burning form.

Kindness, Courage, Power, and Strength is the key, its not something that you have to be powerful. Just believe in yourself, never give up, be kind, and always care for the people you love. Like Mothra!

Mothra's Sacrifice reminds us of what most of us do in life. That there are those who put others before themselves. Sadly, some people don't understand and know the essence of it.

mothra has: godrays, poisonous stinger, sharp inscect legs (that can use as a wepon), super fast flying abilities and braveness. thats why she is the queen of the monsters, she may not be the strongest but she still being the queen after all.

There was a Mothra Easter Egg in Godzilla 2014. When Brody and his dad went back to their old house in the beginning of the movie, there is a tank of some sort (like a fish or hamster tank) that says Mothra on it.

Godzilla is the maintainer of balance and the defender of the planet around the clock. Mothra only saves one city or one island at a time and sometimes at the cost of the entire planet whenever they battle

To be fair, Mothra DOES have a more standard ability that would still allow your theory to be correct: her scales. In Tokyo: S.O.S. Mothra showed the ability to scatter her scales against the enemy, and it's explicitly stated that, if she doesn't die in the fight, the loss of her scales will kill her. It's not super flashy, but it's a move that lets her sacrifice herself in order to weaken a foe for her allies.
