Several will go over 200K. Where is this site? You got off real quick and above launch. Looked very buoyant. Awesome landing! How did you loose so much altitude in 2 turns? They didn’t look so steep.
Hi Bari, this is in Laragne (France), with early take-off and a Westernly wind at the West end of the ridge, since this is a SouthEast ridge the wind was going downhill there, so I had a nice -5m/s and ended in that field without much choice for others. My frustration was to not catch teh thermals on the way West becuase I wanted to optimize my transition, so I ended too low there instead of securing the early part of the flight with more altitude. 30+ years and still learning :)
Good to see that this doesn't happen to me only, but to way more experienced pilots as well. Bonus: I learned some words that didn't show up in my Duolingo lessons so far... ;-) I know the feeling, there are better days to come!
Hi @andeurghl I missed one of the best day of the month, too bad but you are right it can happen to everyone. For the French, I only selected the soft ones :)
Landing was good. I stay on base tube all the way into ground effect. To me it seemed a lot of sink as you were losing altitude super fast. Totally liked the landing
