@@TheHardStyleLifeagreed with the other guy anyone I know could do better than Vince now, they were and are a legends band but they need to hang up the boots and hop tf off the stage before they keep running their names into the dirt
Love the Crue, always, since I was a teenager. John 5 is a badass Guitarist, lacks the gritty tone that Mars had, but the show must go on, 5 is just being himself playing Crue's Music. People can say what they want about Vince's Vocals, but there isn't a Rock Musician out there who wouldn't trade places with these guys in a second, period. I think they still Rock, and put on a great show. I think "Without You" is one of the best Hard Rock Ballads ever written.
@PostUp_Time Ya, I said that. I think that's more of a gear choice thing than playing style. I'm sure he must have a beat up old USA Strat somewhere....lol. Don't hop up the Pick Ups, just leave it dirty.
Yep they sound great, I saw them a week ago in NYC and they sounded amazing. The haters are so gross just being nasty because they have no life. Crue still rocks!
My god… Vincent’s singing voice is much better in pronunciation but it’s clearly not the same quality of squeaky like in his young age. But it’s the truth that everyone got older, he is 63 now, he got his health stable to sing onstage, that’s a miracle thing, you know.
For the life of me I just can’t figure out why his “timing” is always off. That’s the issue for me. As far his voice? Meh, He was never Sinatra or Michael Jackson.
@@TaylorJamesLive Yep. But you know what? Sometimes I think its all this wireless and earpiece technology shit too. I hate it. Its not very organic sounding
“He was never Sinatra or Michael Jackson” That comment makes no sense as neither of them are Hard Rock/Heavy Metal artist and couldn’t do what Vince did or currently does. Try again…
I saw them live 3-4 times in the late 2000s to early 2010s and witnessed the decline of Vince's vocals. I was regardless still shocked when my friend said he "sounded like spongebob at karaoke night" and came here to confirm. I can indeed confirm he does sound like this.
Maybe it’s just me but I think John 5 really breathes some life back into the band. Vince looks and sounds a lot better than he did a few years ago. 👏 😎
I was lucky to see them in the 90's, before they lip synced.... You weren't watching a real live show folks, but pretend all you want ;) (well some parts of the banter and John 5% skill parts were live.)
Vince sounds very solid here relative to performances from mid 2010’s, mf’s tripping so hard and not listening. Wild Side he is hitting all the words, engaging crowd, and moving and grooving
They never will, they’ll give it to Rapper Travis Scott or 98 Degrees Rock and Roll not relevant for this Cult run Hall of Shame look how long Deep Purple and Rush took Iron Maiden still waiting plus 100 more real bands. Motley Crue will never make it,
I don't know if Sully Erna and Nikki Sixx would do this, but I know they had the feud for 8 years. I think they buried the hatchet since but would be cool if the two guys would perform one Godsmack and Motley Crue song of each out of respect. That would make it a fantastic show.
Oooof! This is *rough*. It's well known that they're playing to a backing track. Honestly, a LOT of the newer metal bands play along with a backing track. It's literally called "playback". The issue with Crue is they're denying it which is bizarre because they've ALWAYS played with playback. The first time I saw them was in 1989 on the Dr Feelgood tour and they were clearly using playback for at least Wild Side, Dr Feelgood....basically any songs that have backing vocals. The backing vocals sounded EXACTLY the same as the studio records. My biggest problem with them these days is Vince's vocals and how he rushes the lyrics. It must have something to do with him being out of shape so he needs to rush the lyrics so he can catch his breath in between the lines
Hey... Talk any kind of trash you want about how bad the Motley Crue concerts have been recently. But I am here to tell you that I would put them up against the Corey Feldman Band any day of the week. .....And that is the honest truth!
I watched a few previous Motley shows this was the better of the others and some were not good. They are playing slower and he doesn't complete words that are cut short with high pitch noise.
So funny. In ‘On with the show’ you can clearly hear how poorly he truly sings, but all of a sudden the backing tracks kick in on the ‘my my my’ parts perfectly in tune. Totally faked
@@Mike-hn4uu not just rap, but every genre. Other metal bands as well. I think the problem with Motley is that Vince sounds soooo bad but doesn’t seem to realize it. Most singers lose their old range as they age so they approach notes differently, sing different melodies that still work, or change keys. This guy is up there attempting to do those high pitched screams and he sounds like he’s having a colonoscopy while conscious.
No he dosent, and motleys one of my favourite bands, truth is people get old that’s all it is. He sounded much better in his prime if your saying he sounds the same now as he did back then your just insulting em to be honest
Read through all the comments while listening. A few things I will offer to the masses. Vince has always had poor timing live, but thought his vocals were overall good here. Have seen them about 10 times over the past 35 years. He is still hitting notes many others cannot. That said, I have always felt his vocal tone was a bit grating at times. It is distinctive and you know it is the CRÜE (not “crew” as several have typed). With regard to backing tracks, Nikki has long admitted to using them. Look it up. What he disputed was that he was not playing live. He absolutely is here and when I have seen them. John 5 sounds great. Anyone saying otherwise is just bitter and hateful or didn’t bother to actually listen…or both, perhaps. I love Mick; however, I saw him on the Stadium Tour and he was struggling. Good for him for saying he had had enough with the grind of touring. And Tommy…he is and always will be a hot mess.
Every song uses backing tracks! None of Nikki's playing is live and he doesn't even try to hide it. I know bands are getting older but as a Motley Crue fan since they debuted on the rock scene in the early 80's after seeing this performance I'm embarrassed for them!
All that negative stuff written a few months ago was just bs publicity:the over weight thing, will they get a new member?do they lip sync?Mars got fired.. the true fans don’t care, the show must go on ..I bought Shout at the Devil when it first came out,and I ❤ John 5 picking 🎸🇺🇸
They were *tolerable" with Mick's huge guitar tone filling in the gaps where Vince and the rest of the band were lacking.. John5 is a very skilled guitarist, but he's not Mick and his tone will never come close to the thundering tone of Mick's. I just wish they would've stayed retired...
I've loved Crue since 84, but this aint it. Vince has the singing and stage presence of a circus bear now. I'm surprisingly happy with John 5. I was worried he'd change Mick's parts too much, but he's spot on! Nikki and Tommy seem okay. I guess my main gripe is Vince. If we're kicking out original members, I'd vote for him out. Maybe Lzzy Hale is free after Skid Row's gigs?
let Nikki sign!!!! i was there and his voice aint the problem its does he not no the words he's not saying the words or something i couldn't help heckling him;!! sorry to everyone around me! i really am a fan of nikki and Tommy and Mick's i was so excited for this and vince ruined it for me!!!🤟🤘🖤
if English wasn't his first language I could see that being the problem I just watched a video of them live in the 80's and Vince Neil just isn't a good live performer. in studio they can manipulate it to sound good I guess. I feel like all he was was eye candy for the chicks! I been dooped.... still love NIKKI Tommy and Mick
Why all the whiners…..this is a great performance……they did well tonight……DONT let time change the truth…..Motley never sounded fabulous live…..only on the records……
@@dilly84 I don't disagree with you. However, arn't these guys playing to a click? They gotta be. I think modern technology and all this wireless shit used in guitars and earpieces has not been a good thing for all these bands in a live situation. It sounds less organic. I think of a band like Iron Maiden. I think they still do the instrument to cable to amp.
@shawnstarks1743 motley is my favorite band of all time but I can admit it sounds bad all around. Vince singing too fast, band playing too slow, vince can't sing like always it's just a mess.
@@dilly84 You think so. I really don't think they sound that bad. Sometimes I think its these venues too. Just recently they sounded Great! at that bar in England under a different name Dogs of War. Nikki is good as far as Tommy and John 5? well you already know they fkn beast. It's just Vince.
Mick Mars has said, "I carried those fuckers on my back for years". Now, John 5 is carrying those same fuckers on his back. I see the light Mick, I see the light.
