Motley Crue - Live at Buckeye Lake Music Center, Columbus, Ohio, July, 26th 1987 - www.RockShowTrader.com
Probably the best performance from Vince Neil you can find on RU-vid!
From 'The Heroin Diaries' by Nikki Sixx w/ Ian Gittins:
"There were 40,000 kids tonight...What a great show. The band was firing on all cylinders. We were on top of it-40,000 kids all with their fists in the air, shouting at the top of their lungs. Some days you just nail it like a machine. The band was so tight and I could just feel the electricity from the crowd. This is a really nice way to end. Now we have four days off. Should get in about 8:30 - I can't wait to sleep in my own bed. My clothes stink so bad. I need to change out my suitcases with new clothes"

My Mom would wash my shirts in cold water for me and hang them dry so they wouldn't shrink..and I still have a lot of them today. Thanks Mom!!!!

I'm a drummer and usually have nothing to say about guitarists but Mick is the ace in Mötley Crue's deck. He is a great rock guitarist and deserves more credit than he gets.

@spooktatorbob4867 4 года назад
I'm a drummer also and I agree with you 100%. Mick Marrs is one of the guitar greats and very few seem to know that. His name should be standing beside names like "Dimebag" Darrell, Zakk Wylde, Slash, Hendrix, etc. Yes, I know there are others but I think I make the point good enough with those. I seen the Crue a few times and Mick absolutely is amazing. It is sad the world does not give him the recognition he deserves.

I always liked the day concerts as bands can't rely on the lightshow to save them, either you have it or you don't. It's just them and the crowd - saw the Crue on the Strip, Santa Monica Civic, open for Kiss, the US Fest and few more shows in the 80's, and this is where Crue peaked IMHO.

If we ever get that time machine working Joe, lets bring the kids with us. I would say wives too, but I am still with mine since the night we met at the Monsters of rock show in 1988 at the old Pontiac Silverdome 👍🤟

They were trash in concert the night I saw them in late '89 in Tucson. Warrant dusted them, at least that night. Vince couldn't carry a tune that night and the rest of the band just seemed to break down. It was awful. Maybe they were all high or drunk.

LOL yeah there are still the rock chicks at concerts today, only today they are just men who think they are women. Back in the 70's and 80's you could find some great looking, and feeling chicks, today though you might get a surprise when you slide your hand up "her" dress lol. I do actually feel sorry for younger people today, all they do at concerts is hold their damn phones up cause they think that's how they make their memories, by filming everything.

Damn right this is by far Vince's best performance caught on video. He sings (most of) the lyrics, isn't absolutely hammered and works the crowd just like the good ol' Vince knows. He never was a great singer, but he's one of those "ugly but cool" voices with lots of personality. Just like Ozzy and Lemmy, nobody else sounds like them. He got enough rockstar power to compensate his vocal skills. Thank you so much for this.
