Give the guy credit. He's hanging upside down, he's no kid at this point, and he finished the number and never lost his cool. I don't care if they were doing dubstep, disco or classical. Tommy Lee is a trooper!
I have seen the negative comments here and I understand some people aren't happy with the music but I think a lot of people missed the point of what Tommy was doing here. Ever since the early 80's Tommy said one day he was going to play the drums on a roller coaster. I mean, when they were still playing The Troubadour, The Whisky and Gazzaris on The Sunset Strip, Tommy was saying that he was going to do what he did in this video. I have seen him nailed to a ceiling and on a loop-the-loop contraption and I even saw him in 2014 at the beginning of this tour and he didn't have this roller coaster. He had it the second time I saw him in December of 2015. And he kept yelling this, "I'M LIVING MY DREAM!" He was in the moment and he and all of Motley Crue literally provided proof that your dreams can come true with hard work. I'm not saying anyone should agree to the music he is playing, but I certainly respect the fact that he lived his dream and I got to experience it with him
That episode was mocking bands not using drummers, so they decided to use the band with one of the craziest drum solos, they got inspired buy this band
Ya'll came to Greenville,South Carolina and I will never forget Tommy's awesome drum solo, kick ass last time that after being a fan for 20+ years, I was there, I have the pics, the video, the memories! Thank ya'll, Motley Crue for all you guys have meant to me throughout these years, nothing but love guys ❤
I know what you mean. my first concert was the Mötley Cru Dr Feelgood tour when I was 16. Tommy was in a flying cage which was awesome and cell phones weren't even invented yet which was even more awesome.
+Rosie Guy Thank you! Yes he is. I loved every moment of the show last night,,,this mishap was just all part of the fun and I am glad I had the sense to record it as it is a classic!
I'm 18 and seen them 6 times lucky enough to see them on there farewell tour to and there will never be a band that will ever put on a show as good as crue God bless all the crue heads out there we will miss you Motley
The roller coaster thing is amazing I love that you have made the concert so interesting and I also think it's great that you obviously have a good sense of business as you are so successful!!!!!!
Give him credit though. He was upside down for a while there still playing. Lol I love him. yeah the solo's cool/ridiculous but I still love it and think it's awesome. He's still a great hard rock drummer! He was a big influence for me
Tommy Lee, the one could pull this off especially hanging upside down! man he is the best and his heart is in the right place! NEVER have I seen a show where the drummer is going round &round on a rollercoaster! love motley crew, but Tommy is really the reason for a great show!!!
Boy Tommy really had to think on his feet no pun intended... from the always popular "Holy shit!!!!!" to his mesmerizing mantra "What the fuck???" and who can forget "Whooooooooo!!!!"
I saw the show at the Honda Center a couple of weeks ago and it was a decent show but basically all these guys do is yell "fuck" through the whole show. And everyone goes nuts. o_O
Commit tommy lee is really good friends with sonny so he playing to his ragga bomb/ ease my mind mix... and also deep down low from Valentino khan which he is a part of owsla, sonnys record label
I've seen his kit spin, I've seen Tommy leap thru the rafters to different types of drums like spider~man and the ultimate a drum roller coaster !!!...Great !!!
Yet, no nerds, geeks or makers ever get any credit for making things like this. All the people who fabricated this coaster, designed the motherboards, communication relays, programs, and power supplies never get any recognition. All we get is abuse and bullying for the people who ask for what we can make. Think about it. What would this concert look like without the fire, fog, cool lights, audio or even the coaster itself. Pretty dull. So let's give credit and raise up our support for the geeks and nerds and makers because they make our lives just a bit easier and definitely much more entertaining... In the words of Bill Gates: "Be nice to nerds, chances are you'll end up working for one."
What he needs to do for their comeback tour is have a drum hamster ball made. He sits inside this great big ball of drums and it rolls around the stage and he controls it while playing. Of course it'll roll off the stage and into the audience and people will die, and the funny part is that Vince Neil won't even be driving it.
Some people are saying this is fake. I saw their previous show at the honda center a couple weeks ago and it didn't get stuck like this. Ladies and gentlemen this is not fake! When I saw it, the roller coaster went all the way to the end and back.
I thought Motley Crue was a Rock (Hair/Glam, Heavy Metal) band not some "'drum on a techno beat'' band... whats wrong with them, play some Rock N' Roll
+Bourbonator tbh the drums are much better in generas such as drum and bass and dubstep, making this part of the show much more intense since it's just tommy drumming.
I was one of the lucky bastards who was there for the last Motley Crue show. I watched their 2 shows prior to this on Monday and Wednesday and this did not happen. Great way to go out ;)
+MrYorkieLover Fitness God damn...I'm on the other side of the world with a tear in my eye because I never got the chance to see them live...would give anything to be there on that last show...hope it was the best shit ever man!
okay i just watched The Dirt Motley Crues Biopic movie and i mean i knew who they were and heard some songs from my parents in the car (as i was born in 2002 and im only 20) but damn i was born in the wrong era i wish i could have lived in the 80s/90s and experience them in there prime.
to see where Tommy got the idea to play upside down search you tube for "world's first upside down drummer". There you will see Mick Mars in his 70's band Whitehorse (aka Mottley Croo) performing in a home movie with the first flying drummer.
Trying to figure out all the techno and dubstep songs he did you you guys could help. 1:13 is "I Am Legion [Noisia x Foreign Beggars] - Make Those Move"
