Since it is nearly stock Android, I don't know why Motoroloa takes so long to upgrade. Notice this phones come with Android 11 not 12 and since Moto only provides one major Android version upgrade, it won't get Android 13. And no NFC
2 bad things - no NFC, and come with Android 11 not 12. Since Motorolo provides only one major Android version update, it won't get Android 13. Some Samsung phones released in Jan 2022 already come with Android 12.
From day of purchase my 2022 text would not send. Calling support 5x's only added to my frustration. Shut messaging off and forgot about it. 8 months later texts begin appearing even though app was never turned back on. Hmmm? Tried sending and works. Synching when online. Frequent calls distorted audio and dropped or app crash.
bought one thinking it would be "good enough". Went to a concert this week, and while I'm NO fan of recording at concerts (just enjoy the show & engage w/band)...I did pull it out for one song where the lead-singer said to do so, for a sing-along. After the concert, I downloaded to PC and it really did look like I recorded it on a potato. I figured I missed some setting. But I've found nothing that lets you choose the file-size/quality. The video & sound were competing with each other for who could be worst. If I had been there for the purpose of uploading a concert to channel, I'd be screaming - and not in a good way. Worst camera...ever.
Mine IS 2021 Moto G power. I have the finger print unlock on the rear of phone. Also I have 64 gig memorie.Thats a fact. I have the wide angle camera 4 cameras
I don't not want my voicemail to show up in my notifications I want to just go check if I want to see if I have voicemail I have it set to show no notification but it shows in my notifications anyway any help would be great
I'm debating if I should get this phone but I do want to give the moto g power 2020 a chance again since I never got to experience 2 or 3 day battery life due to android 11
I have always found Moto's to be a good budget option that work well and do the job for a reasonable amount of money. I have a Moto G Play thats over 3 years old. That 5,000 ma battery really extends the life of these phones and the Moto G Power has that too. I am likely to opt for the new Moto G Power when its time to replace.
Hi friend, I just got this phone today through metro. Now I got it for free, it damn near so I cannot complain. I wanted a bigger screen and had a iphone SE 2020. What did I do? Lol. I sold my iPhone and can definitely tell the difference. But I got a bigger screen now! Hahahah
Everyone has been saying what a great, long lasting battery this phone has. I've had to have this phone plugged in (charging) MORE than any other phone I've ever had!! I've even had to hook it up to my wireless back up battery when I had to go outside of my house!! I'm strapped to my charger with this phone and I absolutely hate it!! Ughhh!!!
One thing about the cheap plastic case, it is easy to remove to access the inner workings. I bought 2 on ebay and scavenged the best parts from a G22 with a carrier and account lock to another with some camera damage. I did have to replace the screen. Both batteries came out fine They also upgraded the OS. I actually don't use it for a phone but it makes a great bathtub game player and the Macro camera does okish when you get used to it. My main phone an iphone 13 doesn't take good photos consistently and certainly not macro. I don't think the macro lens actually focuses so you have to use the viewfinder for the sweet spot. About 2 finger widths away from the subject. Oh the aftermarket screens are dirt cheap and I can't tell it isn't genuine.
i find these phones must have something inside to make in commit suicide, by jumping of flat surfaces . Strangest thing i ever seen. Fun fact The prototype mobile 'shoe' phone weighed 2 1/2 pounds was a motorola The first phone call made on a handheld cellular phone was made on April 3, 1973. The first handheld cellular phone call was made on April 3, 1973, by Motorola engineer Martin Cooper from Sixth Avenue in New York while walking between 53rd and 54th streets
They sending me this phone as a replacement for my damaged phone..as soon as I get it I'll be sending it back..the camera sucks,no NFC and lacking on the android updates... Moto gotta do better and step their game up on these budget phones..
The worst thing is when you drop off this phone the ground very hard, and then you pick it back up. Suddenly, it won’t be able turn on again. There is a worst thing, so you need have to repair it.
The one I got from Cricket is way better than this one and it was free with contract. about 400$ If just bought. Has depthe sensor. group selfie and 4k. And is 5g. And the display is lush! and dfintion 1080p. Its is my first awsome phone. I love it!
How is the sound quality? I'm always listening to music and don't need an expensive phone can anyone suggest a moto phone with the best sound quality as well as picture quality
Hi Kevin I recently got the One Ace based on your review. Got a brand new one for 300$ Canadian. In Canada, that's a great deal. Absolutely no disappointments here. For non power users lt's more than enough. I can get 3 days of moderate use and nearly 2 days of heavy use from the 5000 mA battery. I regard it as the "top of the line budget device". I can't recommend it enough it. Thanks Bub!
Motorola phones have always served me well. Tech is solid!! If anything fails is the Communication towers, Upgrades or any other extrinsic variable. Don't see myself spending thousands on a phone just so I can talk to others!!
The worst thing about this phone is it doesn't allow for contactless payments. So you can forget using Google pay or Apple pay. It's really a garbage phone. I know. I bought it and used it only to be left at the register and not able to use Google pay.
I just bought this phone from Motorola for $129.99. I got it because I retired my ZTE Blade Max View (it wouldn't run RU-vid anymore) and I really liked the form factor it had. This one has a similar form factor, more memory, more storage and an up graded operating system. Couldn't turn down the price.
I just got this phone yesterday after drowning my poor 2020 g stylus. May he rest in peace incomplete without his stylus. I like it as it's basically the same as my old phone with some new convenient features and no annoying stylus (when it falls out the upteenth time you drop your phone then the phone will regularly remind you that he's missing a piece of him, it's a aggravating guilt trip to drag the stupid stylus meno to x). I also needed a phone with endurance as I'm a power user (always have music or RU-vid going when I'm up unless it's socially awkward/inconsiderate to use my phone, my poor stylus made it for a little over a year and was still going pretty good but I think it was pretty well loved, still impressive for what it was and been through as I'm typing on a brand new upgraded variant. Hey, before that I had LG aristo and some variations of HTE and budget tier Samsung phones and the moto g series are my favorite by far. So simple yet efficient. My aged g stylus also didn't lag hardly at all even a year into all-daily use.
Honestly, Bluetooth headphones are affordable now. You can get a GOOD pair for 20 bucks now. I think it’s finally time that I prefer no headphone jack if it means water proof.
I own the g power 2021 and it has a 32gb option and a 64gb option which is the one I have this phone. Apparently has a 128gb option? Idk if it does or doesn't please let me know!
@@BobStoneIsCool3 That would be great. Perhaps the next year they'll consider that option (I mean it's 2022 all cellphones should have that resolution. I'd pay a few extra bucks for a better display).
@@mr.knight8895 yeah I kind of moved away from using budget smartphone’s because they don’t put a slightly higher resolution and a better processor because Motorola used to do 1080p displays but now they do 720p and it’s annoying especially for a bigger screen and Motorola switched to a media tek processor which was a wrong move on their end so
Looking for my husband. He is NOT into cell phones at all. He wants the storage. Currently has E Cruise running out of storage. Does not care about camera, etc... Good buy for 99.99 from Cricket
Other mid-range phones have NFC such as Samsung & Nokia, so I don't know why Motoroloa doesn't put in other cheaper phones. Tap and Pay is common at many stores, restaurants and gas stations now
I own a 2021 model. It's a good phone. It does what it does and that's about it. For around $200-$300 these days, there are dozens of choices. My "main" objection to this phone is that it does not do anything or offer anything "better" than it's contemporaries. It's mediocre. In fact, trying to view the screen during the day is terrible. It's dim. For my next phone, I'll be comparing screen-brightness. 90hz may be "better" but who cares if you cannot see the screen clearly in broad daylight? Usually, I look forward to new models offering some form of "upgraded" experience... And that means different things to different people for sure. In the case of this phone vs. a 2021, 0r even a 2020 model.... what's the point?
I got a 2022 version to replace the 2021 model that was stolen by a Lowlife who's Bad Karma just might log him out of the App called -Life! Unlike many commenters here abouts, I don't consider continuing to use my debit card to buy chips + soda to be the smartphone deal breaker. I value the Camera function above most others. Even the Solitaire game? Serious as Ventricular Fibrillation! The impressive battery is Golden when on a hiking trip where AC plug-is are rare as hen's teeth. The large storage capacity may not be as Thrilling a new feature as a 3d printer, but enough to please a simple folk unit with my genotype. ~ "It does what it does"? Can't argue that. Water is just Soaking Wet! Master of The Obvious...
@@Wefi_7 i had an Obama phone plan with SafeLink, and at that time they were selling them for 99 bucks..ive soon since upgraded to mint mobile, and I bought a refurbished Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G for $427
I love the Motorola software. The very lightweight and minimalist (arguably even moreso than Pixel) Android build is great. But the lack of NFC in budget models, 4gb phones becoming largely worse than 6gb models with many modern games, just makes for relatively lackluster hardware. Combined with a single major update, which is...well, needless to say a terrible update cycle, means they don't last long. I like Moto G phones, but they low RAM and short update cycle gives them a remarkably low life expectancy. Then again, AMOLED displays burn-in after a year, so...the flagships don't last much longer anyway 🤣
