Hi world! This is a follow up to my previous video, "Which Did I End Up Keeping, the Suzuki TU250X or the Moto Guzzi V7 III Stone?" in which I shared with you my decision to go with the Guzzi and part with my ever-so-special TU250X. In this video, I aim to share with you the two key reasons that made a strong argument in favor of the Guzzi, even though the TU has many significant advantages over the Italian legend.
I welcome all comments and opinions, and I would like to thank you for stopping by 🙏. ..

Hi Sam. Welcome to the channel. I'm sorry for my late reply. I just came back from a one-week touring of the northeastern states. Thanks again for your comment. I appreciate it.

Hi! Thanks for an uploading. I'm a Japanese ex-rider of Moto Guzzi. I have no motorbike now because I sold a Yamaha XSR 900 about ten days ago. Actually I ordered a V7Ⅲ 2019 model yesterday. It was the very bike I have long wanted to own. To know why I love Guzzis, I would like you to watch my RU-vid site or other passages of mine on Instagram. I know I'm fickle. But I rode two Guzzis over half a year each, relatively longer time than other bikes. And I would probably own and love V7 for a longer period, because it has been one of my conclusions as a motorbike I want. It is so attractive a motorcycle. Be confident in your decision and find further good points in this exceptional bike, Moto Guzzi. And enjoy together!

Thank you for this video. I am right now on the search for my first motorcycle. I have ridden automatic scooters 50 and 125cc for many years when I travel to Europe but I want my own now here in Canada to ride for recreation. My search has brought me to these exact 2 bikes. The TU and the V7. I think just appearance and to be part of the Guzzi famillia is something I would love. However, I have heard the TU is a bit easier to shift, a bit more user friendly to a beginner like me ( I am taking the course in a couple weeks). What are your thoughts for a beginner like me who is a bit afraid of shifting and is very safety conscious?

@ReluctantBikerNYC Год назад
Hi @JohnnyLREACTS ! My apologies for the late reply. My day job has been taking most of my time at the moment. If you are beginner, then I highly, highly recommend either the Guzzi, especially the new 850s, or the Royal Enfield Interceptor. You cannot go wrong with either! If money is an issue, the go for the Royal because it is much, much cheaper to maintain--unless you can do the maintenance yourself. I absolutely love both, despite their shortcomings. Update: Johnny, I probably misunderstood you: if the TU is on your mind, then go for it. It’s an absolute joy to ride it. It’s gentle and very forgiving, and I think that’s what you might need. The Guzzi, then, should be your last choice because it’s the most powerful of the three bikes listed. I just thought you might get bored with the TU in a year. See my review on it and read some of the comments from fellow bikers. Lot’s of valid advice there. Hope this helps!

@@ReluctantBikerNYC pretty sure he meant the TU as the main question point/topic to the question. Not between the Enfield and the V7. I suppose the advantage that the TU has over all these bikes for a beginner is weight, price, simplicity, insane Japanese reliability and ease of use.

Hi! Thanks for pointing it out. You are right; I misinterpreted his question. I added an update, and I totally agree with your assessment of the TU. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. Be well.

@@ReluctantBikerNYC Thanks for the reply. It's all good, just wanted to clear it up in case there was some confusion as you pointed out. I love your videos, and your TU ones actually convinced me to choose it as my own bike.

Hi Yasar. You bring up an interesting question. The truth is that I just finished a new setup with which I have been toying for a while, and while the idea is not original, it's pretty good and saved me quite a lot of time and money. When my day job gives me time to breathe, I will share my setup. Thank you, by the way, for bringing it up.

How good is the guzzi? I am lost deciding which bike to get. I have ridden the tu250x and lots of other bikes. Have you ridden any of the bigger Harleys on the highway? What about reliability? What about maintenance? The dealer is not close?
@ReluctantBikerNYC
@ReluctantBikerNYC 3 года назад
Hi there. Thanks for stopping by. I have so far put about 500 miles on my Guzzi, and I am still getting used to it. It is great for highway riding--solid as a truck. It really holds its own on the highway. Guzzi's reliability? I have heard and read positive reviews of it. I just bought it, so I don't have any definitive thing to report on this matter. Maintenance? Well, it can get super expensive--but only if you can't do the work on it yourself. I'm paying about $500 for its first service. $500! Pure robbery. Dealers? I live in NYC, and thankfully, I am surrounded by a couple--not a lot!--of dealers. So in this respect, I guess I have been lucky. Harleys? No, I haven't, but not too long ago I sat on a Low Rider S, and it felt so good! When time allows, I will take it for a test ride. P.S. I will be posting a review of the Guzzi here as soon as I possibly can, so stick around if you please. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help. Out of curiosity, which bikes have you been considering so far? I guess I should ask the more important question: What type of bike are you looking for? Style?

@@ReluctantBikerNYC I also own a 2015 Harley Super Low1200T. It is what it is. I use it primarily when I know I will be riding a lot of Highway miles since it is very stable due to its weight (?). Though it is not as fun to ride as my MG V7II Stone or my KTM 790 Adventure S. I rode a 2020 Harely Low Rider S not long ago. Great bike all around. If I were to get rid of the Haley Super Low I would definitely replace it with the Low Rider S (but cannot afford to, haha). I recently bought a new 2020 KTM 790 Adventure S and love that bike (paid a great price for it, $9,999.99 total, included tax and tags). Kinda of a cross between an Adventure and a Sports Bike. Excellent balance and handling and more than ample power. Probably the best middle weight Adventure Bike on the market (IMO it is). Three bikes is my limit financially. And even than I am streching it, haha. But to repeat myself I really loved the Harley Low Rider S. Later and Remember what the Door Mouse said ;-)

@@ReluctantBikerNYC Excellent! Just got back from running errands on it. I agree with many of the things you say about yours. For me, it's such an easy bike to ride. I do feel very stable on the highway, and I can't ever remember "searching" for power. Have you done many mods to yours or have any plans for it?
@ReluctantBikerNYC
@ReluctantBikerNYC 3 года назад
Mods? So far, here is what I plan to do: first, I want to get rid of those ugly stock mirrors (I know I'm being subjective here) and put some bar-end mirrors. Second, I want to install a rear luggage rack, for I do intend to do a few long trips in summer. Lastly, and this is perhaps the most important for me, I would love to get a pair of these heavenly-sounding exhausts: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1Rz_krB8N2g.html&ab_channel=MistralSpecialParts I will not do so anytime soon, though, because they are super expensive. Have you done any?
@TitusBaxter
@TitusBaxter 3 года назад
@@ReluctantBikerNYC I've done several. Another reason that I got the V7 was because of how easy it is to customize. Here's a link to the bike, as it sits: advrider.com/f/threads/anybody-have-a-moto-guzzi-v7.835438/page-849#post-41748734 New bars and bar ends, knobby tires, windshield, tail tidy, plus more. I definitely have long trips in mind, down the road!

I own a 2016 Motto Guzzi Stone. I love the bike. Though the new 2021 MG V7 Special with the new larger/improved engine and suspension is looking pretty good, haha. Anyway, I added a one inch handle bar riser, engine guards, a touring windshield, hand guards, a Guzzi comfort seat, and C-bow racks with saddle bags and a rear luggage rack that will accept a top case. The Guzzi is one of the best "Retro" bikes around IMO. Air Cooled with shaft Drive (no messy chain maintance). I also own a 2015 Harley Super Low 1200T and recently purchased a 2020 KTM 790 Adventure S (Great bike, best middle weight Adventure Bike IMO). Be safe and always ride defensively. Hey, White Rabbit, thanks for sharing. (I can't help thinking of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit"--I love that song!) I have been thinking about what accessories to prioritize. I have a few in mind, including the exhaust pipes, which would be a modification, really. Times are tough and they cost lots of $$$ 😁. Once my day job let's me catch my breath, I will have to sit down and take action. Can you please tell me about your comfort seat? Are you satisfied with it? I definitely have a lot to say about the suspension system of my 2017 Stone.

@@ReluctantBikerNYC I had the bike at the dealer a couple of years ago being repaired due to a woman that ran into to me at an intersection. While it was there I had the saddle that came with the bike replaced with the a Gel Saddle that was in MG's catalog of accessories. It was like night and day. I can now ride for hours without any discomfort. Also when I installed the one inch riser for my handlebar, it further added to riding comfort. Oh, the touring windshield (also from MG's acessories catalog) I added makes a positive world of difference (both in cold weather and rain). The hand guards also help in keeping my hands protected in cold weather. I have thought about adding an after market exhaust system, but ... not really worth the cost IMO. I mean it will not add much if any real extra power or W/E (other than maybe a different sound). Shoot me your e-mail and I will send a couple of photos of my MG v7.
