The first day of owning a new motorbike can be stressful or delightful. This was both as my MOTO GUZZI V7ii Special was unexpectedly delivered two hours sooner than expected and had come through heavy rain leaving me pacing anxiously on road gnawing my nails. Fortunately the only problem was a cosmetic one as she was now filthy. The benefit of the early arrival was that I had time to attend to some important tasks. The most important of these was to ensure enough clearance under the gear knob that would allow changing gear with my Bike Boots on. How did that go? Watch to find out...

They do look like a real bike in a sea of overstyled plastic bikes. Missed my chance to own a Guzzi V11 some years ago. My Ducati obsession was getting too expensive and liked the simple and cheap maintainance on the Guzzis.....ducatis were so expensive to run i'm now a cyclist😆

Thanks for that, yes I had a Ducati once, ran well, but I could see storm clouds looming and sold it.

I don't think that adjusting the rear shocks will change the ride height. The C-spanner just tightens and loosens the spring pre-load. To change ride height you have to increase the distance between the lower and upper shock mounting eyes. Some shock absorbers have this facility, usually a telescopically threaded section at the bottom end of the unit.

Does make a difference, but a minimal one. I have since put on Hagons which DO affect ride height, but there are limits. I also had the forks slid up in the yokes. Next video will be about shaving foam from the seat.
