What an adventure this Sprinter Motovan Conversion has been. I thought I was going to make great headway back in 2019 when I started on the ceiling panels. Who knew I would procrastinate as bad as I did (🙋🏻) and that 2020 would set the entire world back. Luckily I have put real plans in place to finish off the Motovan Build.

The wall panels for the sprinter are already being made and mounted. After the wall panels are mounted, I will finish up the electrical for the van. The majority of the wires are run, I just need to install the electrical box, inverter and some larger cables for short power charging.

Great content here. Can you do a quick run of how it all came out? I am buying an 04 sprinter for the same purpose. Looks like Austin.

any new footage of the panels on the walls? Were about to start our build and this has been very helpful.

1. Glad it's been helpful! 2. There is footage but the panels are not finished. I've been busy! If it's helpful, ask questions here and I'll tell you what I have learned so far!!!!

We basically have no experience with anything like what we're about to tackle lol. We race flat track with two kids so we plan on building a bunk in the 2015 ram pro master with a high roof we are purchasing. In just so stressed that my husband and I will get frustrated and like you, walk away for months lol.

@@amberchandler5011 What I have learned is you can not plan enough. If I were to start over, I would know exactly what I was doing before I even bought a van. In that planning, I would also lean on my strengths and pay someone else to make up for my weaknesses. Example, the electrical system hurts my brain and always stresses me out. I would hire someone like Off Grid Solutions (instagram.com/offgridsolutionspdx/) to build be a plug and play electrical system. Sure, more money, but I can check that off the list easily and save money, and time, on building others things that I have more competency or strength. Now, if you want to challenge yourself and do every part, AWESOME, DO IT! Just know you'll have hurtles and you'll need to ask for help (from smarter people than me).

Thinsulate kit was a life saver for me. I’m going to use cladding to panel the ceiling because I don’t have an 8 year old to sing to me or a dead mans pole. What was the ceiling idea???

You can borrow my 8 year for a weekend or two if ya like. Also, I will DEFINITELY be getting the pre-cut Thinsulate from Adventure Wagon if I do another build. Knowing when and where to let spend money versus spend your time if what makes this process smooth and enjoyable (I now know). As for the ceiling idea, I collected beer cans for over a year because I wanted to flatten them all out and glue them to those "templates". I was then going to epoxy over them so they would stay in place and give it a fun glare when light hit it. Well, that took too long to figure out and do, so I backed off the 'get creative' bandwagon and I am now on the 'just get it done' bandwagon. I think it would have been a badass looking ceiling and really showcased a #PintFullOfAwesome. Maybe one day.
