The series organisers don’t seem to agree with you. They based the class on horsepower and each bike has to run specific tuning to make them all even. The fastest lap of the race was a 600cc

@@darylclifford good point. Also at this point 3 manufacturers make a 600 and only 1 has updated theirs since like 2008, 14 years ago. Like it or not the class is becoming big v2s, 765 triples, and 750 4s. The racing seems competitive and as much as I love to clown Ducati for needing nearly 1000cc bike to compete in supersport it really is the tune that limits everything, if they could do what they want to the engine I’m sure they could have it chasing the stock1000s. At the end of the day the 600 is pretty much gone, instead of bemoaning it’s departure let’s lambaste Honda kawi and Yamaha for a 750 4! Oh yeah Yamaha is making that R9, which will almost definitely race this series, so 900cc triple in the mix

@@monkmoto1887 index racing is a clear indicator of the lack of participation. the reality is, all sportbike racing is dead. globally, nationally... it's a bygone sport. performance indexing just makes it worse. it's a bandaid fix. I doubt MotoAmerica will even be around in 4-5 years. When they are encetivizing riders to ride 2-3 classes, you know it's bad. you can come up with reasons why until you are blue in the teeth, but the simple reality is, people in first world countries already had their fun with motorcycles and no one is interested anymore. , outside of the sales boom of the mid 2000's, motorcycle sales have been declining sincce 1980. The world has spoken...they aren't interested in sport/dirt motorcycles anymore.

@@darylclifford you think the organizers do this because they want to? oh boy.... they do it because if they don't, they wont have a race. performance indexing is literally the last thing you'd want to do as a racing rorganizer/promoter. there is nothing desirable or preferrable about indexing...from a racing perspective....from a marketing perspective....from a incentive perspective.... from a manufacturing perspective. It's all worse than just racing "like" machinery.
