Just bought a Gravity Boost Trail a few months ago which is the same frame and virtually all the same parts except for the drive. The boost is 3x9 and in high gears the chain rubs the swingarm like mad. I really wish I had looked more for a 1x drive anyway, but beginners.. whadya do. Also, I am 6'9 and went with the 21" xl frame due to xxl backorder. Im likely used to things being too small for me but this thing feels just fine for my height. My wife has a 17" frame and Im like a bear on roller skates on that thing. Great vid.

Totally agree about the upgrades but probably would upgrade the fork before the shock to a Manitou markor. It would be a big improvement in performance plus those forks are boat anchors, you'd drop at least a pound, the shock itself probably weighs less.
I own a used Motobecane Fantom Ds. Good luck finding a dropper post that fits in that diameter seat tube. I haven't found one yet. Stock weight on mine with rear coil shock and front Suntour was 42 lbs. Stock gears had a 3 by in the front. This is really just an enduro bike. Don't expect to do anything special with it other than ride some trails and be the last guy in the group pedaling slowly. They are "tubless ready" however searching online they aren't the good type of tubeless and many people aren't recommending you go tubeless with these rims.

I am undecided between a Motobecane FS bike that's $1499 or the Giant Stance. The Stance has a thru axel front and QR rear. The Motobecane has thru axel on both sides. Any suggestions?
Bought their titanium 29er back in 2014 and it was and us a killer deal. Really, nothing comes anywhere near BD for bang for buck. Yeah, I had to prepay and wait but it was totally worth it and probably less hassle than dealing with a custom build. Components are components. No different than any 9ther bike brand so the only question is the frames and I dont see anything less quality. It's funny, the only people lagging my ti bike in forums are people who never owned one. Maybe disgruntled Linskey owners. The tubing is Chinese so somehow it's inferior. It's areo space grade titanium, I don't see a market for any company to produce inferior titanium alloy. They even had it butted. Then the argument is the welds are inferior because it's Taiwanese. Either you have the ability to weld titanium or you don't. It's not a metal any idiot can weld. The welds are perfect. Maybe not to the esthetic perfection of premium ti but there's certainly nothing wrong. You basically get a free frame when buying a BD bike, the price is that good. P
No shortage of pretentious titanium frame bike riders out there 😂. They have to shit on you for riding a budget one. Id go the bikes direct route for that frame too!
I have a Airborne Ti made around 2002 in China and the frame and welds are amazing. Anyway I have been considering the Ti they have and good to hear it's quality constructed frame
Funny, I've been riding for 50plus years... I've never used a dropper post, and have trouble visualizing using one... failure of the imagination, I suppose.
Coming from BMX bikes it was hard to understand dropper posts. I thought they were the dumbest thing, until I rode one. The way you can adjust the saddle height on the fly allows you to put your body weight in an optimal position for the terrain. They really shine on downhill trails
