A very special component for your motorcycle, the Motogadget m-Blaze Disc turn signals are a customer and shop favorite at Revival Cycles. Stefan illustrates the design, in addition to showing the simplicity of installation and use, of these indicators. The Motogadget m-Blaze Disc can serve as both front and rear signals on your machine (provided you're in compliance with local laws), allowing you to clean up the lighting on your motorcycle.

Revival Cycles is the balance of passion and pragmatism. It is our belief that the motorcycle should be more than a machine; it is an aesthetic expression that demonstrates the beauty of purposeful form. It is not enough to simply have a mechanically adequate machine that ignores the visual form. To be truly remarkable requires something more: the seamless blending of visual design with technical excellence. When these elements come together with just the right mix, the result is as much fun to ride as it is to behold. At Revival Cycles, we believe a motorcycle should thrill and excite even before the first crackling rumble of an open exhaust.
Motorcycles are our passion, and we are here to support this passion in our fellow riders. It doesn’t matter what you ride, it doesn't even matter if you do not have a two-wheeled machine of your own (yet). The only thing that matters is that you have passion for motorcycles and separating from the masses. We are more than a repair shop, more than a custom motorcycle shop and more than a place to get gear. We are a cultural center for motorcyclists.

Love this! I want to do a similar set up, I'm just a little uncertain how I'd run the wiring through the clip-on bars. Since they clamp on at the fork, I'm not sure where the wires would exit discretely. Any suggestions/words of wisdom on how to do that?

i bought a very gorgeous set of 4 cafe racer grid turn lights and i installed them on a new motorcycle that already had stock led turn lights.... (no relay change needed as i understand)..... they....... WORK...... but..... when they are flashing, the right side flashes in the right cadence, but the left side flashes weird.... in a rather weird pattern and much faster than the right side....... Im a noob at this so i just attached the positive and negative wires to their correspondent wires in the motorcycle wiring and i took notice of how the old lights came wired to replicate the wiring with the new ones.... i assumed that should make them work right..... There is a thing..... my old led turn lights, were ugly as hell, but they came with TWO wires only..... the new ones came with 3 wires....... positive, negative and..... a white wire...... i dont know if it shoud go to ground or what in heaven does it do...... i just left it unwired. should it be connected to fix the left cadence?..... i dont think so, but hell!..... you are the guys who know!..... Please help me if you can. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

HI revival cycles, I have a euro 2021 indian scout bobber and I really want to get these. are they plug and play with the indian or do I need something else to install them? thanks and great videos

That's a really good question and I'm not sure, haven't had an opportunity to do an install on one yet. I am fairly certain the factory bars have an internal plug that will make this install difficult unless new bars are installed.

How hard would it be to not replace these with your current turn signals but to add these to the current turn signals?
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 4 года назад
In theory, it would be fairly easy for someone with tools and the patience to read a wire diagram and connect the dots but the complexity really depends on the on the bike in question. In most instances, I'd rate it a 2 out of 5 for difficulty.

Did you find it exceptionally difficult to fit the medium sized rubber spacer into the bar? I got my bars from Indian Aftermarket and I am starting to wonder if the bar is actually machined to have a 17mm opening. I can only get that rubber piece into the bar maybe a quarter of an inch before I start to feel like I am risking breaking the turn signal. I even put some light oil on the rubber sleeve and still no luck.
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 3 года назад
There is a lot of variance between bar thickness and the internal diameter. In this instance it might make sense to use some shim material to take up some space and step down to the next size.

Are these disc turn signal compatible with kuryakyn ISO grips?
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 6 лет назад
We have not used the kuryakyn grips so we cant comment about those grips specifically. But if they are like normal motorcycle grips that have a hole in the end to access the inner diameter of the bar end then there should be no problem using them with the m-Blaze.
@georgeerhard1949
@georgeerhard1949 5 лет назад
The ISO grips have a plate at the end that closes off the bar. The plate is fastened with four Allen screws, and is removable. The grip itself goes around the bar, or around the throttle sleeve in the case of the right hand bar, and is glued on (very securely - mine are impossible to rotate now that they're fully cured). So once you get that plate off, you should be able to insert the m-Blaze into the hole just like any other grip.

I notice that when you went over to the bike that you'd installed the turn signals on that you had an old military bike in the background. Considering how the bars on those bikes are usually angled quite a ways backwards, how well would those turn signals work with that bike in relation to front visability? I'm in the UK and would love to use those on a future bike that has those types of bars. Thanks.

@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 7 лет назад
These are designed to be very flexible in terms of installation, but I have no idea what type of bars are on a Fat Bob. You need to have a hole in the end of the bars that is at least 14mm diameter, and 50mm deep. The grips will need to have a hole in the end to allow access to the handlebar, but beyond that these will work with any grips.

+Eddie Maester They can be used as both but it requires additional components. The m-Unit has this functionality, there are also turn signal controllers on the market or you can install a dual element circuit on each signal.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. These signals have lights with projectors aimed front and rear so that they serve for both on your bike. However, local laws sometimes require front and rear turn signals to be a certain distance from one another.

+Boro Depending on how the turn signal flashing is metered you will need to either replace your flasher relay with an LED compatible relay (revivalcycles.com/collections/motogadget-electrical-parts/products/m-wave-blinker-relay or revivalcycles.com/collections/motogadget-electrical-parts/products/motogadget-m-flash-relay) or if your signals are run through the ECU you will need 4 load balance resistors(revivalcycles.com/collections/electrical/products/in-line-load-balance-resistors), one for each signal.

I'm thinking to install 2 m-blaze disc on the front and 2 m-blaze pin on back. To install those, what do I need more? (m-unit?, relays?, etc..) Also I'm thinking to install those hand controls (m-switch), do I need something more? maybe some relays also? btw, is that handmade grips you have on that awesome bike? Thanks and sorry for this amount of questions. Love all your videos

Felipe Rebelato Hi Felipe, we've got some answers to your questions below: The only additional component necessary to install the turn signals you mentioned would be an LED compatible turn signal relay, we have a few options available on our website with the m-Flash (revivalcycles.com/products/motogadget-m-flash-relay) being just one option. Regarding using the m-Switch controls, these would require an m-Unit for functioning and a complete rewiring of the stock electrical system. Additional items that we find helpful, but not vital, for m-Unit installation are the Motogadget m-Button (revivalcycles.com/products/motogadget-m-button) and our Deluxe Wiring Kit (revivalcycles.com/products/revival-cycles-deluxe-cable-kit). If you were to decide to use an m-Unit, you would not need to use a turn signal relay as this functionality is already incorporated with the m-Unit. For reference, here's a link to the manual for the m-Unit: motogadget.com/media/downloads/manual/munit_v2_manual_en_3.2_k.pdf The grips we have installed on our W650 in this video are these POSH Waffle-Style Grips: revivalcycles.com/products/posh-waffle-style-grips If you have any more questions, shoot us an email at websales@revivalcycles.com and we'd be glad to assist you!

does m-Blaze Disc compatible with another brand of bar end mirror like CRG ( CRG Arrow ) ??! ... is there any additional unit like relay , resistor & controller to purchase before installing m-Blaze Disc ??! ...
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 8 лет назад
The m-Blaze disk is compatible with most bar end mirrors that mount on the outer diameter of the bar, and not inside the bar. Because the m-Blaze indicators mount inside the bar, they are not compatible with any mirror that also mounts inside the bar. Most of the mirrors that mount outside the bar require that the grips, controls, and switch gear are moved in-board by the thickness of the mirror mount in order to make room for the mirror to attach. The m-Blaze do not need any additional components to function and are designed for 12V systems. However, depending on your specific motorcycle you may need to replace the flasher relay to correct a fast flash error, or add load balance resistors, but this is all dependent on your specific application. If you would like more details on a specific application email techsupport@revivalcycles.com

Will this work for a 2012 Yamaha FJR1300 w/heated grips? I want to add them as additional lights not as a replacement for the stock signals.
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 8 лет назад
That should work, but we have not seen the details of how the bars work on the FJR1300. Most bikes have hollow bars and the heated grips normally do not go inside the bars, but are external on top of the throttle tube, and handlebar. That means this should be a fairly standard installation but you will likely need to drill a small hole in the bars for the m-Blaze wires to exit the bars. Adding these as additional lights should work well, and you shouldn't need any additional modifications to the existing turn signal system.
@ouroboros5224
@ouroboros5224 7 лет назад
Would these lights work with grips that have a throttle equipped? For instance I have Avon grips with throttle boss.
@ouroboros5224
@ouroboros5224 7 лет назад
Answered my own question with a little research. Because of the way the throttle boss attaches by being part of the end cap it will not work as these lights would replace the end cap. However you can put these on Avon grips and they work nicely and just use a crampbuster or throttle rocker that is almost just as good.
@georgeerhard1949
@georgeerhard1949 5 лет назад
I have the Kuryakyn ISO grips with the throttle boss attachment. It is sandwiched between the grip and the grip endcap, much like a trim ring. The inner diameter of the mounting ring will likely make mounting these ... difficult! You'll need to assemble the throttle boss onto the light so as to get the rubber expansion tube inside the throttle boss's ring, insert the light and boss combo, fiddle with a very small Allen L wrench to secure the throttle boss, and THEN... if you've not committed hari-kiri over the whole mess... secure the light.

I recently purchased these turn signals from you guys for my 1978 Honda CB750 project. I was hoping to use the stock handlebar and simply flip it upside down for the cafe racer look. However, I'm having trouble removing the bar end weights in order to let the wiring go through the bar. Any suggestion?
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 7 лет назад
Depending on how the bar weights are attached it can be a major pain to get them out. Some are welded, and if that is the case, its worth it to just buy new bars. But almost all aftermarket weights are held in with an expanding wedge system, and it really helps to know the design so you can figure out how to remove it. BUT more importantly, its not really a great solution to just flip a set of bars, the hand positions aren't right, and it would be much better to just spend the $33 and get a cheap set of emgo clubmans. That way you don't need to waste time messing with the old bar weights.

Can you use these as dual running and turn signals using a intensifier like Joker Machine sells?
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 8 лет назад
Yes these can be used as dual element lights by adding a dual element circuit. I am not familiar with the intensifier that Joker sells, but I suspect that it is the same thing as a dual element circuit, which means it isn't really an intensifier but rather a dimmer. The dual element circuits are just a resistor that connects to the running light wire which reduces the power to the light to create a running light brightness, and then the turn signal wire bypasses the resistor giving the full brightness. We sell dual element circuits and for the m-Blaze we recommend the 65-125 LED version for use with the m-Blaze disks revivalcycles.com/products/led-dual-element-circuit. Or you can just source a 75-100 ohm 1/2 watt resistor and make your own.

@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 6 лет назад
hmmm, that is an interesting thing to consider. I guess it would depend if your bar ends are in your field of view, but also, because the lights are directional, you could adjust the rotation in the bar so the focused light wasn't as distracting. I don't think there is any issue with physically mounting the lights in an Ape bar, and the wiring would just be slightly longer than a normal install, so no problem.

Hi Julius! From our experience here in Austin, Texas, these adequately serve as both front and rear indicators on a machine, as they point light both forwards and backwards and are very bright. However, you will need to check legal restrictions where you live to determine if these will fulfill necessary lighting requirements where you live.

Not entirely sure what you mean here, the running light portion will be lit when the headlight is on. You do not need an m-Unit to operate these, but without an m-Unit you will need either an LED compatible signal flasher relay or depending on the bike, Load Balance Resistors.

Can we install these in Indian scout bobber with bar end mirror??
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 6 лет назад
It is possible to install the m-Blaze disk in any bar that has a hollow inner diameter of 14mm or ~9/16" or 0.550". We do not know what size the bars on a scout are. Also, it is possible to install with a bar end mirror, but the mirror must mount on the outside of the bar not the inside diameter. In some cases the controls and grips can be moved inboard, to make room to mount the mirror, in other cases a custom spacer can be used to extend the bar.
@ab4469
@ab4469 7 лет назад
can i put that on a front lower fork somewhere at front axle both side of the bike?
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 7 лет назад
This is possible, but it would take some special mounting, and you'd have to work out the wire routing. But from a practical standpoint there is no reason you couldn't mount them low on the fork. It might be a bit challenging because the mounting stud is relatively long because of the intended application for mounting inside a handlebar.

@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 7 лет назад
If the Diavel has a hollow handlebar with an inner diameter of more than 1/2" or 13mm then you should be able to fit these. Depending on how ducati is handling the turn signal flasher relay, you may need to add load balance resistors, or replace the flasher relay.

Question: how do these hold up to impact, let's say, equivalent to dropping a bike, or having it blown over during a freak 30 min wind storm.
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 6 лет назад
There are several variables that affect the outcome after a drop. How heavy is the bike, how hard is the ground, etc. But in reality these lights are not built to take a hit like a drop from full height. They are very well made, but I would not count on them to survive a full height fall onto pavement, but they'd stand a good chance hitting soft grass/dirt.

do u have red tail light and amber turn signal light in one
@RevivalCycles
@RevivalCycles 7 лет назад
The m-Blaze disk does not come with a red tail light, and as these are bar mounted they would probably not be a very effective tail/brake light location. Motogadget did just release an all in one stalk mount turn signal that does have tail/brake/turn functionality. We should be getting that up on the site soon.

Normally it is just a screw from the outside that is used to expand a wedge or other blind locking device. To remove you loosen the exposed fastener a little bit, and push in on it to disengage the wedge, then the whole end weight and wedge mechanism should pull out. If you need more details you'll need to research on your bike specifically, or consult the manual.
