Ducati has had the most powerful engine since the Stoner days in 2007. It is the corner speed that matters in Moto GP which is why Vinales won the race on the slowest bike on the straight.

That's why when Rossi moved to ducati, things didn't going well. Rossi's driving style which prefers to overtake during corners cannot be maximized when using the Desmosedici. Dovizioso and Stoner are the riders best suited to the Ducati style, trying their best to shorten the distance with the opponent throughout the lap, then overtake in the long straight.

@ical Yeah, or slipstreaming, however you wanna call it. But many people think, only the following driver gets an advantage, when in reality both profit from it. I think they even could make more use of it, teaming up like that on straights. In a team the driver that follows, almost always overtakes when he can. But what if he stays behind, then there is no overtake manouver, that potentially makes both leave the ideal line, and both are faster, because of the shared slipstream. If that makes sense.

I think, it prove that ducati so so powerfull... Vinales had to use slipstream behind pecco to catch him closer, till at the sweet spot turn he over take pecco, and made gap time in every turn with Yamaha's corner speed. About Mir, I think he only unlucky , if there are still 2 laps, when he in the front of zarco and pecco , he can make gap like vinales.
