To do this on a 2007 e320 (w211/om642) you do NOT need to remove anything other the than the air intake filters. The driver side mount comes out super easy from underneath - the passenger side mount also comes out from underneath - you just work it past the alternator and pull it down by the radiator. I had to lift engine maybe 2 inches to clear the alternator - it was easy. By far the hardest part of this job is breaking the top bolts loose, especially on the passenger side. The whole job took maybe 60 mins.
Joey Klesney, if i ever see you i will buy you some beer!! Today i have replaced both engine mounts and from the automatic gearbox of my w211 OM642, 3 liter V6 CDI. . I was fighting to get a tool on the bolts of the engine mounts. I checked some youtube movies and found at last this one. It says to remove the exhaust!!! I said some bad words after seeing this. But then i read your comment. I have removed the air inlets and the result of this is a lot more space to remove the top bolts! You are the best and made my day! And my car, no any vibrations or noice. Inside it is a huge different now, so quiet. This is how a Benz should be. 👌👌👌
Thanks Carlos, your video helped. You're absolutely correct, removing the exhaust is required on a E320. Maybe the E500 or E55 is different, but for the E320, there's no way around it. I've changed engine mounts on Mercedes and BMWs in the past, and this by far was the most difficult.
Good Job Carlos thank you. Just enough info to get this done on a 2001 E320 RWD wagon. Best cost on parts is from Rock Auto, 35.00 bucks. Unfortunately when I ordered I specified 1 each, instead of 2. I recommend what you did and replace both. Anchor was the manufacturer of mount. I found O'Rielly had a mount local (also mfg Anchor), but paid 89.00 bucks. I am also replacing the transmission mount. Cheers
I just changed my motor mounts without removing the exhaust. You just unskrue the top bolt and lift the engine 1 centimetres. You will not be able to remove the bolt bcs of the exhaust but you can lift it free and change the mount. Remember the lower bolt.
W211 no need to remove exhaust. Remove mount bolts raise the engine take mounts out simple u might have to loosen steering rack wich I held by two bolts I did thos on w211 e500 and e55

Jose Clemente rivera es fácil cuando estas en algún semáforo o esta parado el carro y lo tienes en drive el carro tiembla o vibra . o la otra pon el carro en drive y acelera y frena al mismo tiempo y con cuidado si el motor si el motor se levanta ligeramente de algún lado es que los nesecitas, claro que en este último tienes que tener el cofre levantado para ver el motor si se levanta
Si carlos efectivamente me hace eso me vibra al estar parado en un semaforo e hice esa prueba de tenerlo en drive y pisar freno y acelerar y se levanto mas del lado del piloto. Ahora bien Tendras algun video donde salga como cambiar estos soportes de motor por que el de caja es mas facil ya que esta mas a accesible mi auto es (mercedes benz C200 Kompressor año:2001 sport coupe (CL203) el motor es el M111.955 Y que precio tendran estos en usa ?
