This is a video from when I went to "Goko Falls" in Kitajuku, Hashimoto City, Wakayama Prefecture in October 2023.

This waterfall has a drop of 30 meters and has an abundant amount of water regardless of the season, so it has flourished as a training ground for ascetic practices since ancient times.
The Yadori area where this waterfall is located was the territory of a temple on Mt. Koya until the Meiji Restoration.
It is also close to Okunoin, where Kukai's mausoleum is located, and it is said that many monks and mountain ascetics trained for enlightenment here.
The name ``Goko no Taki'' comes from the time when a monk ascetic came up a stream to take a bath in the waterfall, and when the water hit the sunlight, the spray from the waterfall shone like a five-colored rainbow. It comes from a story about someone who forgot.
Halfway up the cliff to the left of the waterfall is a statue of Fudo Myoo, and it is said that there was once a shrine dedicated to it.
In addition, those who practiced here purified themselves at the waterfall downstream, which is why the waterfall is called ``Mitaarai Falls.''
