That's exactly what happened in my incident. All seemed to be innocent but the radiator, front fork, front wheel, gas tank and cosmetic damage. Turned out to be an expensive fuck-up after all. Just uploaded my new vid, picked up a brand new mt-09 last saturday ;) Cheers!
Seen this clip in multiple compilations. I live in Amsterdam and since a small year drive a motorcycle as well. For work I often travel to Gelredome, taking me along the same road where you had your mishap. I tried it with the motorcycle 05:00 am with surface temperature of a mere 1 degree and thick fog. I nearly crashed in the same corner due to all the circumstances and my visors fogging up every 5 seconds. Also a car stayed behind me, thinking he was helping me with his lights but instead stressing me out. Needless to say, we only learn and become better from small things such as this. Ride safe!
Hey nozem ;) Thanks for your comment. The video was picked up in quite some compilations. People love to see other people crash I guess.. But for me it was indeed a good lesson. Hopefully next time I don't panic that much from losing grip on such a tar-snake and just focus on the corner in stead of the guard rail. Good to hear that you were able to hold the machine and 'nearly' crashed in stead of really crashed. ;) Cheers man!

Het ligt aan de motor. Mijn mt 09 heeft nu 1900 km gereden en 2 schades door andere opgelopen ;) Even andere vraag. Ooit gedacht aan een windscherm? Iets wat ik nu erg overweeg maar niet weet of het nuttig is aangezien het best petit is. Moet trouwens ook zeggen dat jouw motor stuk warmer is dan die van mij. Of dat heeft met je crash te maken dat kan ook.
I'm so sorry you crashed your new bike, that sucks. The important thing is that you're okay. The bike can be fixed, you can't. I live in north central British Columbia, Canada, and have some crappy roads here. You hit a patch of road that was seal coated because of cracks. We call them "tar snakes" here in Canada, and they suck. I'm extremely paranoid whenever I see them, when I riding my bike. Take care! : )
+holymolie i think from now on i Will also be paranoid when spotting such a 'tar snake'. It's slippery like fucking ice! Gonne have a closer look af the bike today. Will be Ok After some repairs.
Bad luck mate. Positive thing is you're ok. Bike can be fixed, or replaced, but it still doesn't make you feel any better. Great videos. Keep em coming

Oh what a shame bro. I watched your video when you test road the two bikes, Z900 and MT09. good videos. You had a bit of bad luck stacking the bike, That sucks.
Glad there was a side-barrier and not just the traffic of the opposite direction! Hope they will ever pay attention to motorcycles when "fixing" the road (ie: making the surface rough aka "not flat", for more grip). Ride safe! Peace.
Thanks for sharing! I almost crashed my Suzuki Bandit 650 on the A1 between Hengelo and Hengelo-Noord a few months ago. I almost lost control of the front wheel when I was accelerating too fast on a part with a lot of these tar strips.

Good thing you weren't speeding ;) Of course you could have avoid the barrier but it's hard to keep up the good reflex for something which doesn't happen often. Keep up the good work, your videos are nice ;)
Yo, yes I could have avoided it; looking back at it. But like you say it's hard to have the right reflex ready when shit like this happens.. You scare for one second and you miss the corner and something like this happens. Lesson learned!
Oh man, sorry for that. I hope you are all right. Put some ice on your knee for 30 minutes, 7 days in a row, it should be fine. What about the bike? Tell us more about the damages.
+Boris yo ja klote stuk in het wegdek zeg, zo'n smalle streep is toch nog gevaarlijker dan ik al dacht op twee wielen. Gaat wel. Vooral goed beurs en pijnlijk maar valt volgens mij wel mee.
Het is kut dat niekoss is gecrasht maar zeggen dat hij er niks aan kan doen is ook een beetje overdreven, ik wil niet zeggen dat ik het beter had gedaan maar er was genoeg ruimte om buiten het stuk "gerepareerd" asfalt heen te gaan. Nadat zn achterwiel weg glipte was het waarschijnlijk een case of "target fixation". Nu wil ik nogmaals herhalen, had ik het zelfde gedaan? probably. Kon hij er iets aan doen? Dat ook.
+Mrfatmanjunior ongeluk zit in een klein hoekje. Les geleerd maar lastig om op zo'n moment het juiste te doen. Dat stuk asfalt zag ik nog wel maar ik had geen idee dat het ook bij droog weer zo glad zou zijn. Ik probeerde er juist niet krampachtig omheen te sturen om te voorkomen dat ik daar te zeer op zou fixeren. Achteraf gezien is zo'n streepje dus echt een no-go gebied op elke weg in alle weersomstandigheden.
Copy that sir, I have a 17 too and i thought TC would take over in situations like that; at any rate sir, i am glad you came out unscathed and unharmed.
+shadowphl yes i expected the TC to help me out a little bit more than it did in situations like these!! Maybe level 1 TC is not that active after all. happy to see you're ok ! We all learned the hard way and yeah it's bike life.. that kind of black lines made me slip several times too coz it's very used in my country to repair bad roads at low cost. Beware even more of thos sh*** when the weather is hot ! V
look where you want to go,point your nose in the direction you want to go, when in a turn let your eyes follow all the way to the end of the curve ,the bike will follow

I must say that I'm recovering pretty good, knee hurts for sure and looks like shit but im glad my kevlar jeans at least had some decent foam inside in the knee area, seems to have reduced the impact on the Knee quite a bit. Would have been better If i was dressed in my leather 2 piece suit but Ok!! Lesson learned ;) Cheers!
Vervelend man! Ik reed er vorige week nog, had op precies hetzelfde stukje bijna een aanrijding. Ik hoop dat je motor snel gemaakt is! (al is met dit weer er niet veel aan om te rijden) ;)
+JB Br ik heb afgelopen zaterdag een nieuwe mt-09 opgehaald! Deal gesloten met motoport, ik heb mijn schade fiets ingeruild en een nieuwe fiets besteld. Was aantrekkelijk met verzekering en reparaties enz, heb maar iets bij hoeven betalen gelukkig :)
Mooi klote. Hopelijk zijn jij en je motor snel weer 100%. Heb precies op die plek op mijn kop gehad tijdens rijles. Reed ook over de lijn heen. Ze zouden die lijnen moeten weg halen.
+DutchTheOne ik wist dat die lijn er zat, had alleen niet verwacht dat ook met dit droge weer het zó glad zou zijn. Fucking dun lijntje! Maar weinig ruimte om te herstellen daar :( Zal wel goedkomen. Ff rustig uitzoeken allemaal met de motor.

Afgezien van een kneuzing van de knie en overal spierpijn gaat het goed :) snel fixen die 09 en ook weer snel erop ;) Idd moet het ego misschien nog wat langer herstellen :)

I almost crashed in this exact same corner. My frontwheel took a 10cm sidestep. Was able to hold the line and not crash. For me it wasn't the long black line but a small one just in front of where you start riding again. Those things on the road suck so much, even more when it's hot. I always try do avoid them but a small one caught my frontwheel.
+PilatuS23 I did not know these lines were so slippery in dry but warm weather conditions as well, sucks man! Especially as there are many of these lines in this particular corner. Good that you were able to hold ur machine/the corner. I tried to avoid it but when i was looking at it i just aligned with the f*king lines and slipped. You live near Arnhem? What do you ride?

Oh no my man. It was just a love tap but it still sucks. If it feels funny maybe the front wheel got knocked out of alignment. I doubt there's anything bent. Support the front end then loosen everything including the axle and triples then re-torque to spec. In hind sight you shoulda got an ice bag at the gas station and iced the knee right away to prevent swelling but that's easy for me sitting at my computer. Hope everything is OK.
+blipco5 yeah hopefully nothing to crazy with the bike! Btw I got some ice on it 5 minutes later when i got home. I thought about getting some ice at the gas station but now im glad i didn't cause i couldn't bend my knee after some time passed :) Cheers!
Niekoss...Good. I wasn't playing doctor it's just that having had a couple of knee injuries myself it's what the doctors have told me. Ice it right away to prevent swelling. But when you have to ride the motorcycle home it's another story altogether.
We all know the feeling of that target fixation... But glad you are okay, and the bike as well for the most part. Could have gone a lot worse of course!

Tricky bitumen lines. Had the same problem in Austria, driving a corner with over 100kmh. My luck was that there was a dirt road where i leaved the street.
+Twil the guard rail was not the most comfortable thing to crash into. Dirt or grass would have been fine too to learn my lesson ;) These lines do suck!
Shit... It hurts even seeing that... Hope no serious injuries but better go and check it carefully. Last summer had a few slips but nothing ended into anything so there is always that possibility. Seems this season what we have ridden (1500km, about) that oil is almost every corner at some degree - people just don't care.
+Iivari Dark yo! Yeah did not expect my sunday to end this way, front fork/suspension seems to be in a bad shape. Ill check everything closely tomorrow. Bad place to make this tiny slide, not much room for error :(
+Alexander Hauge yep there is, apart from some plastics, indicator, mirror also the front wheel and fork. Bike's going to be fully checked tomorrow. Then I'll know what the price tag Will be to get things back to normal ;)
+OddBallPerformance yes If i needed to have a crash barrier- experience perse, it definitely could have been worse than this. Was happy to see everything Still worked. But the bike was very wobbley while headig home. Front fork and wheel are also damaged so need to check that tomorrow. New day new chances ;)
Bikes can be repaired/replaced. I specifically meant that you weren't too badly injured. My friend had a similar experience a few years ago and it broke his leg in three places.
OddBallPerformance yeah i can imagine this type of accident can easily damage a leg badly. A motorcycle is pretty heavy compared to a leg of a human being. I was lucky i wasn't going any faster in this scenario. Is your friend Ok now? My knee and upper leg seems to be only bruised. Can hardly move the leg but i think it's just a muscle-thing. Going to have some x-ray pictures made today just to be sure nothing in the knee is damaged. Be safe!
Oh yea, he is fine now. He had to have two rods put in his leg to hold it together while it healed, but other than a big scar from the surgery he is fine now. I am glad to hear that you aren't too badly hurt, but definitely see a doctor to be sure. A simple bang to the body can result in very dangerous conditions like compartment syndrome, or small fractures that can potentially lead to more serious issues if ignored or untreated. In my own experience, the first time I low sided on a bike I ended up cracking a couple of ribs that nearly punctured my lung, and I didn't know it. It wasn't until a few days later when I had a hard time breathing that I decided to go to the doctor. That was a wake up call for me. Rest up and recover!
ik heb het zelf ook meegemaakt met het remmen voor een stoplicht op zon zwarte lijn en verloor de voorkant tijdens het bezorgen ging maar net goed. Gelukkig ben je oké!

Bijna 3500 E. Heb de motor kunnen inruilen. Schademodel hebben ze opgeknapt en ik heb een nieuwe aangeschaft met goede inruil + wat geld van de verzekering.
Dat is nog best veel voor zo'n tikkie. Maar zo te horen ben je er goed vanaf gekomen. Heb je weer een zwarte genomen? Ik krijg mijne in Januari, ook zwart😀

Not bad, the bike is still good, your still good. Win win. The asphalt lines are annoying, always upsetting the bike, but if you countersteered hard enough, that could have been avoided.
+Sahil Srivastava yes i know, If i was cool enough at the moment right After the slip, i could have saved the bike. I thought about that so often about how to act in these situations If i ever found myself in one. I did not brake + turn which is the most common mistake and i tried to only brake and get as much speed out of the bike as possible. Looking back at it i should have counter Steered a little or just throw the bike in the corner without any breaking right After the slip.. lesson learned;)
Shit mate i hope the knee is ok, those fucking gouges in the road are a killer on bikes aint they, its like they pull you in, i had it happen to me once but luckily i was on a 125 supermoto (this was 10 years ago) and the corner wasnt as tight as that one you hit.

+AcidKeyn cool man awesome machine! Love it. Well.. I managed to ride the mt07 for a while, also a brand new motorcycle ar the time and I did NOT crash it. I only had one very shameful and harmless moment of me falling over with the mt07 lol.

+Dave Mulderij valt mee op t eerste oog. Spiegel kappen knipperlicht, dat valt mee. Alleen is ook de voorvork beschadigd en waggelde de motor flink met naar huis rijden. Dat ff goed uitzoeken.
