I've been riding motorcycles for 50 years, the last 25 in Los Angeles, so I was at least used to splitting lanes. Probably the best advice I got about getting used to riding in Thailand was F.I.T. Follow a Thai. Get behind a Thai on a scooter and do what they do. It works. I'm just glad motorbikes are second nature to me and I didn't have to learn how to ride at the same time. Anyhow, I arrive for good July 2nd to Chiang Mai! New home!

My wife and I watched to the end. We really enjoy your videos! We are coming back to Chiang Mai in December with the possibility of making it our home. That's awesome! Yes, we go to Refuge Fellowship which is in the Hang Dong area, service starts at 4pm on Sundays. I am the drummer there. 😊

@@TheNarrowGate that’s actually the church we were looking at! We are full time travelers, but used to go to a Calvary Chapel in Leesburg, VA. We’re looking for a new place to call home and one of the big things for us is to find a good church, and last time we were in Chiang Mai we saw Refuge Fellowship on google but we didn’t get a chance to visit. That’s awesome that you are the drummer there! We had a feeling that Refuge is your church! We’re coming back to Chiang Mai in December. Hope to meet you there! 😊

Seems you took the very long way to get to the market on the Ping River. We spend the winters in CM in Hang Dong. Just stay on The 108 until we, we take a few side streets to avoid CM Gate Market, hit the moat, then hit the road you bought your motorcycle on, turn left at the Ping, park our motorcycle in the car garage on the left for 5 Baht for all day. 3rd floor has plenty of parking for bikes. My wife shops, I just watch the people, cars & view of the Ping from the 3rd floor garage. Always a good day.

Hi Tony. I have an off topic question. How do you deal with the possibility of being summoned for jury duty while living in Thailand? How would you even know if you are summoned? I’ve asked other American RU-vidrs living in Thailand but no one seems to have a clear answer. Thank you.

We have researched it a little and we decided if we get called for it, we have to surrender our drivers license to get out of it. I can always use my Thai drivers license to rent a car in the USA.

Driving around my neck of the woods. Btw, I'm one of those slowly driving around CM in a pickup, wondering when the next motorci will come roaring by out of my blindspot. You may believe it is acceptable but it will always be dangerous.
