I have worked and been alongside Japanese (outside of Japan) in the early 80's. I spent countless hours discussing our cultural differences. This is the main gap that you need to bridge when you are with Japanese men and women. They are brought and learn in a complete different manner which makes it so difficult for us to merge and immerse. You may tell me it is true for every culture. I would agree with you. I am European, and I have lived as an expatriate in many different countries. Including Asian ones. I never had a problem to make myself accepted. Japan still remains a mystery to me....
I got tears in my eyes. I mean, look at those streets, and people are so humble and soft. For me it sure look like a fantasy land from movies. I have started to think only Japan can help my Mood swings.
I biked (motorcycle - called bike in Japan) around most of Japan in the 1970’s, and in my opinion the island of Hokkaido is Japan’s best kept secret. Not only is the scenery beautiful and the food delicious, but the people are very open and friendly. Most tourists think the Japanese are very courteous as a whole, but a lot of the courtesies extended are merely custom. However, on Hokkaido, it is very genuine.

From childhood, when I used to watch Japanese cartoon shows, I felt a terrible, unquenchable pull towards Japan. I almost constantly used to dream of going to Japan and live there. As I grew a bit older and crossing my teenage time, those TV shows I used to watch became known to me as Anime, and I also came to know that their comics are called Manga. These are times when I grew even more drawn towards this country and its culture. Their drawing, their music, their stories, everything was mesmerizing me constantly. Now, in my middle age stage, I realized that all my dreams and desires for Japan were... ... ... ... absolutely true and it IS definitely a true love. Because with time, this love is not fading. It is only growing stronger. I can't explain in words how I feel about Japan. The closest explanation I can come up with is; it is like a long lost past life I somehow forgot which deeply wish to get back to and remember. Thanks for the video. As a motorcycle lover myself I really loved the bike too. Stay blessed.
Thanks for the great road trip movie and the beautiful pictures. I myself have a SR500 built in 1986 - in pretty much original condition. It is a great bike.
