It's all good now.I love the one,the comment about the scraps on his gaurd are signs of commitment. I'm always worried about dropping my bike.I need help picking it up.
I totally agree how is this free. Must be a good man wanting to help other riders. I am taking my MSF in the next month or so and this stuff gives me so much to practice when I do start riding.
@42:54 I had to timestamp your tight u-turn because I kept rewinding and rewatching so much. That skill level to do that manuever out of my own driveway is my goal! Thanks for your tutorials.
It’s my pleasure. 😊 Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed to my RU-vid channel!👍🏾😊 ru-vid.com I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile!
2019 Roadmaster icon smoke! The best looking bike there!! Mine is currently at the dealer getting fixed from my wreck and this just makes me miss my CalamityJane all the more!
i been doing all techniques and don"t want to keep the throttle loaded and most lean on the rear brake putting wear and tear on the clutch and rear brake you can on idle in 1st gear make turns and iron cross just covering the rear brake if idling to fast without touching the clutch even killing the switch but with preload of throttle and using rear break will eventually wear and tear both. Just making it easier for me.
I’ve never tried these courses and I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was 16 and I’m now 52. I’ve seen the local motorcycle police at the nearby Steel Horse motorcycle rally in Fort Smith, Arkansas show their slow speed riding skills. It impressed me how they can take a large bagger bike a take a tight turn course. Slow speed skiills is what me and many motorcyclists are very lacking and it a great thing that you are teaching. I only thought that that those were skills only taught to motorcycle police but all motorcyclists should know. I ride a retro sport 2003 Kawasaki ZRX1200R . She’s a blast .
Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed to my RU-vid channel!👍🏾😊 ru-vid.com You’re absolutely correct! Every rider should be proficient at slow speed maneuvers to some degree. 👍🏾
A friend told me to watch this video and I'm so glad I did. You're awesome! I love the positive attitude. I'm just starting my second season riding. I've learned almost everything I know so far on my own. I do get some tips from friends, but I'm going to take a course a Harley Davidson. I love to learn and I'm very safe, but I feel like knowing more will make me safer. I take in all the good information I can get. I like the way you teach. Most of the people I ride with say do this or that, but don't explain so I turn to other people that want to help and I practice until I'm confident, but not cocky. The thing that interested me into watching the video right off the bat what's the whole pay it Forward thing. I'm really big on that stuff. I like to share things that I know as much as I want to learn new things. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Thank you Rob, it’s the first time I see myself on my bike. I noticed that I messed up often at first try but got better afterwards, also I though I can do uturn consistently under 18, but clearly I didn’t, two reasons: without cones I can start turning at the line, which give me about a foot; and even with just the interference of the cones, my performance dropped, just imagine if there is a drop off on the edge. So in summary, for my technique to perform at my highest level, I need warm ups and run offs just to ease up my mind. In conclusion, more practice is needed, it’s truly a perishable skill. See you soon, D.
Hey D. It’s my pleasure. 😊 It’s such an advantage to be able to see yourself on video practicing. And you are way too hard on yourself brother. You did fantastic out there.
Im gonna be taking mine late July in Wrightwood ,California . Im nervous but confident. For $435 i better pass 😂. Thanks for this upload . Im definitely going to use this information to my advantage.
@@davidgearardo1788 sadly I had to put it on hold because I started a new job and I can't miss if I want that raise and bonus but I will keep you updated .
Great class, seriously you're the best. I watch all the mc channels but your long form practice videos are so full of lessons. Keep on teaching👍. Thanks again!
Thanks for the kind words RKW. You have some killer skills yourself with the 15' and 14.5' turn videos you have on your channel my man. Loving to practice makes it all fun. Ride safe!
@@marki61422 My low riding, extended reach Saddlemen seat makes for some especially bad ergonomics between the cones🤪 I'd love try it on a smaller bike with a center of "grabity" that is high and forward like the BMW.
I just love these videos and Robert congratulations wow man 49!!! I hope I get to make it to one of your practice sessions before you hit practice 100 wow.. Congratulations and keep up here great work.
Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊 I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile!
man.. i truly appreciate your videos. I'm a new rider at 50yrs old I'm currently riding a Ninja 600 but I love Harleys but I'm intimidate by their size and weight. the more and more i watch your videos and go practice on my 600 the more I'm working up the courage to get on a harley. I hope to meet you in person and take a lesson from you some day. keep up the great work. Be blessed 🙏🏼 brother.
Thank you very much! Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊 I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile! It’s great that you’re practicing!! Just keep in mind the rules don’t change as far a technique is concerned so the more you practice and raise your confidence, the sooner you will be on a Harley and showing it who the Boss is!👍🏾
I got off the heavy bikes and now ride a 300 adventure Honda rally I do think everyone should start in a lighter bike like in Europe you gain so many more skills when you aren't worried about the weight.
I also have severed nerves in my leg so this was my reason but turned out to be a epiphany lol for all that ride big heavy bikes much respect, and if you do these skills he's teaching are a must to have!
Great group of humble guys and humour to boot. I've been watching since practice #1 and I always seem to learn something I didn't know or think of on each one. Thank you again Robert, for all you do and share. I'm a perfect example of 48 yrs of saddle time doesn't mean anything in slow speed skills.
@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle I would love it to make it to Pooler.. story for another day…. And I’m proud to be a VI preloader and grateful for all you do. Thank u sir
Great practice session riders did a very good job and thanks buddy for doing what you do we all learn from watching and practicing thanks again take care
Hey Robert, I’ve noticed that your right U-turns and circles have gotten better and look as smooth as the left. You are practicing what you preach and it shows, you’re a great example for us. Thx again.
Seen previous instructional videos and enjoy the delivery along with your patience. But I THOROUGHLY enjoyed watching this practice session. Totally stealing screenshots for my personal parking lot practice! :) One question tho, you suggested to Nick to get higher handle bars - is this something that all riders would benefit from? I ask because I'm 6'2" rider of a 1500cc metric cruiser similar to D in this video. Thanks for the content and your diligence in paying it forward. Looking into becoming a V.I.Preloader when i have more practice time... Enjoy the ride!
There's a difference between "riding" a motorcycle and "driving" a motorcycle. Riding is when you hang on while the bike does what it will, and driving is when you make the bike do what you want it to. At all speeds.
Thank you for watching and subscribing!👍🏾😁 I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile! It’s my pleasure. 😊
When you talked about role call it rang a bell. As a construction superintendent at our safety meetings I go around the horn asking if anyone has anything once I am finished with todays topic.
I can't wait until I get the chance to get out there with you! I'm an OTR truck driver, so my practice time is unfortunately limited, but I am thankful for these videos. I'm learning so much, and can't wait to make the trek down there so I can get beat up, lol.
At Ft Campbell to ride on post I had to take a riders course and it was excellent and I remember thinking I knew it all and soon found out I was a rookie who had a motorcycle license ! I really can’t believe the quality of information and the excellence you just gave away on RU-vid ! We should be paying $$ for this !!!!! You really care about people to have made this video ! Motorcycle Excellence !
It was a great time being a part of Practice Session 49 having been a viewer/subscriber/fan since you started the channel. So much fun watching the growth of the group from the start of the session through follow the leader. Killer improvements especially on the Single Serp and UTurns. I did end up hitting a few cones watching back. Don't regret it because I was pushing outside my comfort zone free-wheeling (Clutch only, No Rear Brake) on the U-Turn and one handed in the Abominable Snowman. No matter where any rider is...we need to put in some work just outside our comfort zone (being SAFE, smart and in the right environment) to grow. It was a fantastic day of skills practice AND a great experience hanging out with fellow Preloaders and Coach Simmons. If you have the opportunity to take part, DON'T miss it! When I travel back that way, I will be making sure to work in another chance to participate. Thanks again Robert and to the fellow Pre-loaders for a great day!
It was great meeting and practicing with you Jeff! You’re phenomenal on your motorcycle, but your great personality and willingness to assist your fellow Preloaders & V.I.Preloaders was just as great to see as was your skills on your motorcycle!!👍🏾
Another great video Robert thank you for sharing this video as always. Great job everyone who did the course . I referred two new riders I work with to your you tube channel in the hopes they watch your videos they both like riding fast ,and I told them they also need to learn slow speeds skills also
