It would be hilarious if someone magically transformed all Harley's to DCT's!!! There would be HOARDS of bikers falling over, running into intersections at Red Lights, slamming into the back of each other and generally zooming around out of control at every gas stop and bar across the country!!!! I don't think many would ever be able to break that 'auto-idle-throttle-blipping' habit they seem to love so well. Lol.

BrakelateVideos ha ha yeah and I think I would fall into that category!🤭my missus is looking at the Africa twin for next year....whether she goes for DCT or not we will have to see🤔

Honda engineers feel DCT is a great idea and want to share it with everyone. Why not, they should be proud they mechanically created something more precise, efficient, reliable and easy for the masses to use. Problem is, in EVERY motorcycle format they put it, they fail to sell well at all. People ride for the challenge and mastery of becoming one with the machine. Learning the intimate relationship and precise control found in the connection between Throttle/Clutch/Brakes and the feelings and challenges that it brings, separates the riders from observers.

Sorry for rambling all over your page, but I guess that is what it is here for. I DID buy an early Honda Civic Hybrid/Gas with DCT trans and auto start-stop and regen-braking. I love playing the game of either making the smoothest timed shifts for economy driving, or wringing all the performance out of it I could. I thought I would miss the sensation of gear changes, etc. However in 20 minutes, I felt completely comfortable and it became totally transparent to me. I think as I age, due to arthritis, and having a damaged hands and ankles from many dirt bike twists / sprains and a Achillies Tendon surgery, one day it will be nice to just rest and let the bike do all the work.

BrakelateVideos it’s no problem at all, as ya say that’s what the page is here for, DCT is a super idea, but I agree, people wanna ride their machine, I think it takes a little bit of control away, I don’t mind that in my car, fully auto, but the minute I’m on the bike, I take full control back, I’d still like to have a go though, I maybe totally wrong🤔

What is that road side with the Red Flag at the 2:26 mark? A Historical Marker or just Debris from Road Repairs? This appears to be filmed from the Honda. How does it compare in your opinion to the BMW's? Having owned a ST1300 and now K1300S and '16 GS/A , I am curious. I still own a '86 VF1000R and really enjoy the Honda V-4's, but the models with that motor never seem to have sold well for some reason (typical Honda 'soul-less' reliability and bland personality seem to kill it despite it's over all 'goodness')? The 1200f and particularly, the 1200x really seem to be absolutely ignored for some reason. Thoughts? Thanks for posting the beautiful video.

BrakelateVideos hi buddy, yes the red flag is a sign that the military are firing generally live weapons so do not en crouch onto the area without permission etc, that area in the north of England is heavily used by the military

BrakelateVideos thanks for your compliment😁my friend had only just bought the Honda crosstourer 1000cc, he does really enjoy however it’s took some time getting used to the DCT, so much so that he’s dropped it twice just by blipping the throttle at standstill at forgetting it would propell him forward,he does keep up with us but the suspension is quite limited compared to the GS

Oh, good tip to know! Hahhaa. Fun to watch, but wouldn't want to be wandering around unknowingly. Thx!

Bummer that he dropped it... I could see myself doing the same thing however. I never would have considered that as a possibility! Sort of funny though - sure shock the hell out of you until you got used to it. Seems old timey (previous owners of poorly carbureted two stroke dirt bikes?) have a really bad habit of that. Or Harley riders who habitually 'blip' the throttle needlessly for noise (?) I guess a scooter rider would know better.
