I did not know they sold Husqvarna in the Philippines...crazy how that got me excited...I have a 2022 Svartpilen 401 and I absolutely love it!! Maybe that's confirmation I need to move to the Philippines!! Peace.
Thanks for the Vid, That answered the Question I had, Honda doesn't sell an asian version of the Honda Rebel. I had a 250 Rebel several yrs ago now ,I always thought that would an ideal sized bike for there.
himalayan oh no... they have a couple of common issues like moist in the dash, panniers, ABS, etc, and if you're starting to have bad engine problems, their parts would be shipped from india.
I enjoyed that video. It got me interested in the Royal Enfield bikes so I visited a showroom nearby. I came away liking the scram 411 but more so the 650 interceptor. I notice you seem to have good storage for your bikes. I will need the same. I would like to communicate with you about that if possible .
I'm a bike nut from the States.. I have had 50 bikes at one time or another over the years. Recently sold off 5 just for room sake. I'm a big fan of KTM. Had 5 of them. My favorite KTM was my 950 supermoto.. Great channel. Drive safe. Cheers
Hi mate thanks for the bike shop tour. Glad to know you can get decent bikes as im moving there next week (end of august) would love to catch up for a ride with u as we would get on very well. Im an aussie raced bikes since i was 9. Was factory sponsored with yamaha from 9yrs until 16. Then rode speedway bikes throughout europe for many yrs. Retired now but bikes r still in the blood.
@ridingtheislandswithharro6581 I'll get in touch with u soon as I get settled. Cheers. As they say, stay upright, when the green flag drops the bullshit stops...lol
I've heard that the XR 150L is a great bike for all-around use . It just made it to the States after years of being in Asia and is well received as a very affordable entry-level adventure motorcycle. 19 s in the front and 17s in the back make it a great province bike with a big fuel tank and a small price tag .
@@ridingtheislandswithharro6581 Thanks appreciate, thinking bike for short travels once I'm there permanently, but car as I get older. Hope your doing well, regards family & friends. Cheers 🍻
got my first bike when the pandemic hit, a 7 year old beaten honda wave with broken headlights and side mirrors lol, used it as a service and found riding to be amazing, got my self a honda ADV 150 a few months later and I'm having a blast with it!
As maintenance is just a suggestion in the philippines, it makes me very weary of buying a used motorcycle in the philippines. Plus, if it has ever been in an accident, there is no way to know until you ride it and realize it handles like crap .
Love your channel and your commitment . It's easy to see its your passion. I was over there in August and stopped at a few Honda places around Tacloban and Maasan in the vesayas. Of course no ADV models but I tried to put money down for a 2023 but they didn't know what to do. Any suggestions on how to reserve one for next year would be great appreciated. Again thank you for the work you put in for our entertainment and education! Drive safe!
hey Marc the Honda dealer i found said to me he could get me a red or black ADV 160 in the next couple of months. i ordered a white one so let’s see how i go getting one but he seems confident. if and when i get it i’ll do a video on it. 👍
Was I reading the price tag right on the Honda's, $9k US for the 250, but under $2k for the 150? The XR's. It seems like what we'd call a "Dirt bike" or Enduro style bike would be most advantageous for street/dirt off-road riding.
Thanks for the tours! Good to know there are that many options in a town the size of Dumaguete. I continue to be surprised at the lack of Yamaha KLR's that I see over there... you would think that "The Cockroach" would be the perfect answer for the combo platter that the Philippines offers up in overland terrain. Keep up the good work, I'm enjoying your channel!
Enjoyed the tour and the music. The Himalalayan looked good. I'll be interested in seeing you ride and review it. I'm midway through a restoration of a 1962 Big Head 500cc Bullet been in an outbuilding for 30 years! The range of bikes from Russi looks interesting though I'd feel more comfortable with an established manufacturer. Thanks for sharing.
Great new channel ! I'm one of those guys who rode when I was a younger. When I got out of the service in 68 bought a Triumph Bonneville, great machine. When I got here I knew I needed some type of transportation so I bought a Honda Click. Biggest mistake I made. I'm used to shifting gears for the control of the bike, not so with the Click.
@@ridingtheislandswithharro6581 Yes, I hear you but, it's complicated. too long to go into it now. perhaps we can meet up and discuss what I can do under the circumstances. I'm not in Dumaguete, I'm north in Tanjay. Scooter is in the shop now, when and if it's running maybe I'll take a ride down and we can have a coffee.
Hi, I think you have the Honda CB500x. It’s the same weight, and twice the bike. Although we don’t need more than the Royal Enfield power around here. I have the Duke 390 and it has a lot more power than I can use. The problem I have with the Duke is the high power band. Built to race, no smooth power until 3000 rpm’s. It’s kind of rough in traffic. I saw the KTM 790 Adventure at ACE. 😍 But I know that thing would be a monster around here.
Kawasaki has the dominar 400 that is expressway capable and decently priced . 40 hp and 35 ft lbs of torque with a max speed of 165 kph . At 195k its not bad
Love you videos; I’m a retired motorcycle officer. I have been riding motorcycles for 45 years in the United States I’m currently residing in Tucson Arizona and very interested in checking out the Philippines, the Dumagutet/Valencia area.
Hi Mark, enjoyed the video, I'm traveling to cebu and dumaguete in September. What city you think I will be able to find the Honda avd 150 for purchase new. Thank you
Hi David, Perhaps Cebu and you could contact the Honda dealers i’m advance. they do come up for sake here but don’t last long and the dealers are never sure when they will have new stock. Hope that helps?
Great video! New viewer here. My family rode Husqvarna's & Harleys for decades. Husky has chg'd alot from leaving Sweden to Italy, & to KTM. That was a lot of off road & back road riding in the States. Thx!!
Gedday Doug, On Eid my subscribers wrote to me recently saying he bought a Russi Macho 175 and put a bigger cab on it and he reckons it flys! I asked him about handling and I haven’t heard back from him yet but he did say it cost him a mere 57k. They are a tough bike and with 13 months factory warranty they are a great buy. It all depends on a price point budget I suppose as another mate of mine just bought a brand new NMax, keyless, abs, gold wheels for 150 k and he was sooooo impressed with the build quality esp things like the headlights. The Russi copy of the NMax is 175 cc and is under 100k. So it all depends on your budget? I’m considering buying a Macho 175 and upgrading the carb just for the hell of it ! Add it to the collection lol, good luck and thanks for the support
Hello Mark. I enjoyed the video. Its nice to do some window shopping from my living room till I get there. The two Honda PCX 160 at the first shop, MotorAce. Were they new bikes? Is that common there selling new from a non Honda dealer? Any warranty problems or service with that? Of course like a lot of guys, any word on when to expect the new Honda ADV 160 arrival at the dealers there? Are the ADV 350's only going to be a fantasy in the Philippines? Surprising they won't supply the 350s when they have the 750s. Thanks again for another great video.
Hi Doug, The PCX’s we’re the latest brand new models and are covered by warranty from Moto ace. I have no idea about the ADV 160 arrival but interesting to note that the PCX 160 has the same four valve engine. I wish the ASV 350 was here too as they are a great middle of the road bike! thanks for your support i appreciate it 🙏
Hi mark so Raddi. Does the Cvt mods on the ADV Do they Stock parts for that conversion ? Or did you bring them the parts ? I just picked mine up Like to make those same changes. Bike seems sluggish /heavy out the gate
@@ridingtheislandswithharro6581 morning H ... just a couple of quick ones .. will be over your way this month and was wondering if you could recommend a place to stay .. should be close to the boulevard and eateries ... also a place where to rent motorbikes ... cheers mate
@@kinglionma Have no idea, it’s strange like that here. For example you can buy a brand new Honda PCX for 140000 and second hand they are asking 120000, as i said check out FB marketplace
