CHECK YOUR AIR PRESSURE AT EVERY GAS STOP? HOW ABOUT WHEN YOU LEAVE ON A LONG TRIP? OR WHEN THE BIKE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A FEW WEEKS? OR THE WEATHER TEMP. HAS BEEN CHANGING A LOT? TIRE PRESSURE IS USUALLY TAKEN WHEN TIRE IS COLD--NOT AFTER BURNING A TANK OF GAS WHEN TIRE IS HOT. OF COURSE, YOU NEED TO SELL PRESSURE GAUGES, FIX A FLAT, NEW TUBES, ETC.. NOT MUCH HERE FOR ANYBODY THAT HAS BEEN RIDING FOR A WHILE.
Nice video. I have a 05 stock sportster with stock Dunlop tires. They are starting to feel slippery. What tire would you suggest for a stock 05 sportster 883?
How about a passenger rated rear touring tire on an 05' Electra Glide Police, that I added a tour pack to ? Me and my Honey are an additional 370lbs. 210 of that is me.
Any of these will work fine. These all have a load rating of 77, which is 908 lbs.www.jpcycles.com/2005-harley-davidson-touring-electra-glide-police-flhtp/tires/rear?N=28004765+28011928
Are you saying every time I get cash check my tire pressure? What about checking a hot tire? I checked mine about once a week or before a big ride with the cool. Your thoughts please never heard of checking a hot tire When you do not since a problem. Thanks
Heat will change the pressure in the tire a few psi. But if you are checking a hot tire and its reading low then it will read very low at average temps. I would recommend tire pressure check when fueling up. Also, an old racer trick is to use nitrogen to fill your tires, it isn't effected by heat. - Patrick
Is 10000 miles on a rear tire normal...? Before my trip ,my tires seemed ok, but then I rode 3315 miles last week and I just looked at my tire now and it has no tread? It seemed to wear fast
It depends on your riding style and how you use your bike. If you want a more performance oriented tire with that really grips the road you want a softer, stickier compound. If you are more interested in mileage then you are going to want a harder compound tire.
First of all ; THANKS for the great information on the numbers that are on the tiers. I am a student once again after 25yrs,and looking to buy a used bike. I am 6"2,210 pounds and your recommendation on what to look for when is time to purchase would be much appreciated.
I just bought a set of Shinko tires from J&P for my 98 Harley FLSTF and wasn't worried until I took them to Harley to be mounted and they came just short of refusing to mount them. so now I am worried. I don't go far or fast anymore and my wifedon't ride with me she is too l ill these days so I guess i will see. The tires are the correct size for my bike 190 16 73H if i recall without looking. I used Dunlap since about 92 with good results maybe I should have spent the extra cash but retirement and money don't mix.
I called this morning trying to get some help on a part instead i was met with attitude and annoyance. Not good for a business depending on it's customers.
I want to put different tires on my drz125l. Street or dual sport tires as I cruise on streets more than hardcore dirt. Everywhere I look doesn’t have the exact size as the tire on it but the aspect ratio is a little more or less ( like 10 or 20 more or less). What numbers on the tire can you play with a little? Do any of you guys know of any street or dual sport tires I can use safely with the rims 70/100-19 r90/100-16? Thanks🤘
This is the tire DunlopMT90B16 ) I currently have on my 2006 883 Sportster with a Voyage trike kit . I have tried different tires over the past 4 years I've had it & I have ran these tires 2x. I am having to replace them about every 6 months.....I don't have the mileage on this last one but am wondering if this is normal with these kits or do you recommend a different brand
Time to get tires for my victory cct. Looking at the commander 3 . Read in several forum getting singing and wibble 25-35mph and at a high speed number? Have you had people return there commander 3 or heard of problems with that tire? Thanks
