I planned a trip around few countries in Europe this summer and this video is about me leaving England from Portsmouth to Bilbao with Britain ferry.
I left London a Sunday afternoon and arrived to Bilbao Tuesday morning for a total of 36 hours of navigation..
There are not many details in this video but I hope it will give you an idea of what to expect when travelling with motorcycles on a ferry
Remember a cabin is a must, you may or you may not be able to stay 36 hours on the ferry.. you need a bed to rest and I personally needed my own toilet as well
Ferry tickets comes with 2 meals and reversible chair so cabin has to be paid separately.
for any other informations feel free to message me

Great video ... done that same boat lots of times and it is always exciting when you are waiting to get on and then you can relax and ready for an adventure ... got my own luggage dialed right down now though to two soft panniers for tools, spare gloves, waterproofs, bits and bobs and then one small tail bag for tshirts, a pair of trainers, washbag ... used to take loads buts never needed.

Are you sure we weren't on the same ferry at the same moment? Lol Thanks mate, really appreciated it 🙌 the reason why I had many luggage is cos my off riding gear was on the big bag on the back of the bike and the options were or bring them with me or send them by mail and pay duties on it 🙄 next time I will travel light and wear all that gear 😅

Hello and thanks for leaving a comment 🙌 keeping the bike steady for all navigation was my big concern before starting my trip! A guy on a ferry to Iceland used his own straps to hold the bike so I brought mine which honestly I never had to use.. I took four ferries in one month and each ferry secured the bike for me every time 👍

Fun video. Subscribed. The only comment is that you'll have way more fun moto traveling if you can reduce the amount of luggage strapped on the bike. Big loads high and to the rear of the bike also kill stability. Simplicity is the key to not having to fiddle around with things during stops like the ferry terminal, ie. ditch the gloves in a pocket upon arrival, no loose crap to stash at every stop, etc. I too once suffered from TMS (too much stuff). I'm in recovery lol.
@salusander900
@salusander900 Год назад
Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment and for subscribing 🙌 I am totally agree with you, all that luggage has made my travel more challenging.. It was strapped on the bike so very easy to take it off every time I was stopping somewhere for few days giving me the chance to enjoy some off riding with less weights on it but it needed to be set up properly every time back on roads!! My idea was to send all my off riding gear to italy but then I would had to pay taxes on my own stuff so I decided to bring it to me.. that's something that I would never do again as next trip I will wear all my gear instead 😅

Great trip. I am driving tracer 9 and thinking to send it back to dealer and take trnere 700 rally 2022. Because I think is more versatile bike.
@salusander900

Tracer may be better on road.. I have XSR 900 and frame are very similar.. but ofcourse if you want to start off riding then T7 is more suitable and much fun .. you wont regret it 👍

And i also like your camera mount mechanism on helmet, could you pls explain lil bit more about this, cause i find it extremely easy to on and off the helmet. Thx
@salusander900
@salusander900 Год назад
I have 7 helmets so when I bought my go pro I need it something that I could switch depending on the ride that I was going to do!! It is pretty much a big clamp with action camera attach that works every helmets apart from open face and I believe modular helmets as well or maybe just some of them!! There is a video on my channel which I am not very proud of 😆 but you may find helpful.. Check out the link if you want to buy one dango-design.co.uk/

Hi Steven 🙌 thanks for leaving a comment. I contacted the TET organisation about the trail in Sardinia but it has been temporarily removed as there were concerns about its legality.. I had to keep up with my schedule crossing Spain so didn't have the time but Spain TET it's another excuse to be back in the country next year 😉 I am about to do the TET in Cornwall next week by the way, so video will be unloaded in January 👍

Sounds great ye if trouble then give it a miss loads of other places to do the tet I’ve just recently bought the T7 rally in white to join my small fleet lol as have the bmw gsa rally for big trips and enduro bikes my plan is to do more bigger off-road trips not the perfect bike for all sections but a good compromise Steven

I'm only 170cm tall, and 50 year old. Have not ride a motorcycle in over 20 years. I wonder if the Tenere is a good fit for me? Or should I consider the smaller CB500X? I wanna travel from California to Alaska, then maybe Europe?
@salusander900
@salusander900 Год назад
Hi thanks for commenting 🙌 they are both nice bike but it depends what type of travel you are willing to do honestly. I would say tenere is more suitable off-riding than CB500X but still capable on roads also.. there is only 6 kl different as tenere is 205kl and the Honda slightly light but tank fuel capacity makes big difference as tenere is 22 litre and CB only 17 You can adjust the suspension to your needs or changing seats gives you few cm less, letting stand you on the bike more comfortable... Considering that you haven't ride for 20 years I believe the tenere is the bike for you.. a bit heavy but having sai00d that there is not electronics and one only set up.. abs on/off

@@salusander900 thanks for the feedback. And I agree. The T7 overall package is much better.
@LongPondNH
@LongPondNH Год назад
My wife had a CB500X. It's a great road bike but really not suited for anything harder than dirt roads. The problem isn't capability, its the fact that the bike is delicate in terms of the plastics and general vulnerability, even with crash bars fitted.
@salusander900
@salusander900 Год назад
Depending on your skills and how much you push yourself when riding I would say they make good motorcycles in general nowadays.. Some are more capable than others but overall they all are good bikes 👍
