You are preaching on what I've been telling new riders for years!! I also tell people that riding for the past 14 years has made me a better/safer driver, because of all those idiosyncrasies that you talked about; cars slowly drifting towards my lane, the sudden acceleration/deceleration for a lane change, even noticing when a person is looking at their phone from seeing their head movement through the windows. My only addendum to taking an MSF course is taking the right MSF course. I took BRC2 after riding for 5 or 6 years and I didn't get a lot out of it, it's definitely meant to be taken right after you get your motorcycle license. Then I took the Advanced Rider Course and it was awesome!

Yea the basic courses are great for the fundamentals. The advanced and bike specific course are great at any level of riding!

I work at a shop/dealer and I tell people that all the time. I feel safer on a bike than in a car. If a big ass lifted truck wants over. It will get over. No matter if you Honda Civic is there or not. At least on a bike I've got more options. Speed up, slow down, swerve. I have a whole lane to maneuver in. Or like I told my friends wife "When's the last time you stopped at a light, and looked back to see if the person behind you was not going to rear end you? Me? Every stop light, every day. How many times have you driven to a place and been like "Oh, I zoned out there. I don't even really remember how I got here."" People take operating 1 ton+ death machines way too lightly. Pay attention. It will save your life. Be it in a car or on a bike.

very well said. I am constantly looking around, even now in a car, because of the last decade on a bike.

Always training and always improving……motorcycle riding is a disposable skill…..safety first. BTW …. grew up in Atlanta metro and visit often. Have a strategy before you begin…..ride safe!

Cobbler is the best, i get why peach is the go to in GA but you blackberry cobbler has my heart. Oh and as a Beauber i definitely agree. Motorcycle riding gets you in a "more aware of your surroundings" mentality when on the road and definitely made me a better driver too. I even play the motorcycle game with my daughters when we drive places. Similar to the punch buggie game, except no punching and motorcycles instead of beetles lol but it gets them in the mindset to look out for riders.

I love the motorcycle game! Great way to put people in the mindset of looking for riders! Also… no I have to add blackberry cobbler to my list. Thanks for that lmao
