In this episode I am riding around the Chimanimani mountains in Zimbabwe. I thought I was taking a main road, but as it turns out, I find myself riding the tiniest mountain roads through thick forests, getting lost on single trails.. Looking for adventure riding in Zimbabwe? THIS IS THE PLACE!
Want to learn how to use drones, GoPros and 360 cameras to film your solo motorcycle adventure?

@@breitie804 That's generally what happened right across the African continent once the 'colonialists' were forced to leave. South Africa is an exception and seems to be doing well at national and international levels. Two of my uncles lived in Rhodesia in the 1950s & 60s, I lived in Nigeria as a child. The colonial days were good, both for the settlers and natives (Belgium was the one rogue colonial power, responsible for some appalling atrocities).

Agreed there are many beautiful places in Africa, i lived there for 2 years and visited Zimbabwe and South Africa among other countries. I would NOT recommend a white woman traveling alone by motorcycle in some of the places she's been, i would warn any man against doing that. Africa can be a very dangerous place, especially for a young white woman. There are some VERY dangerous criminal and guerrilla gangs leftover from recent "troubles". I love her videos and wish her well.

Birchenough Bridge is the name for a bridge across the Save River is called after Sir Henry Birchenough. It cost of £145 000.00, Birchenoughs ashes are buried beneath the structure of the bridge.[1] Ralph Freeman, the bridge's designer, was also the structural designer on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and consequently the two bridges bear a close resemblance, the Birchenough bridge is two-thirds as long as the Australian bridge. It was built by Dorman Long in Yorkshire England and shipped to South Africa, then trekked 1250 miles to the site and completed in 1935.[1] At a length of 1,080 feet (329 m) it was the third longest single-arch suspension bridge in the world at the time.

5:00 Why do we find such fascination in water falling off a ledge? I'm not denying the beauty nor splendor nor magic of it, but this simple sight of the universal force of gravity acting on a fluid must be one of our planets most enjoyed spectacles. Perhaps because the world is otherwise so chaotic we find the magic and beauty in such simplicity? No matter as long as Noraly presents it so perfectly to bring smiles to her viewers.

Thank you for bringing some nostalgia, I was born in a small clinic on the bank of the Sabi River near the Birchnough Bridge. Summers were spent in the bushes indulging in mangoes guavas which grow wild. Travelling to Chipinge as a child I did not enjoy the mountains as tales where of people disappearing as mountains were said to be a sacred place. However your drone footage was spectacular but was a reminder of the devastation that nature can do, Cyclone Idai March 14 to 16 swept away whole villages with some bodies from Zimbabwe picked up as far as the Indian ocean in Mozambique and some never to be found. Over 1000 people died in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi.

I think the USA media and government are actually responsible for feeding its citizens a negative view of peoples in other countries. The reasoning being that by painting the USA as the cradle of democracy and best thing since sliced bread, they can keep a lid on discontent and any chances of popular uprisings that may upset Uncle Sam. I live in UK and travel widely, I constantly have first time visitors from the USA telling me how friendly and nice people are and how vibrant and wealthy the various countries are. I vividly remember watching a TV advert during my first trip to the USA in 1979.... it was enticing young men & women to join 'your American Army'..... this seemed bizarre to me, I mean who else's American Army would it be....certainly not that of a Brit, Spaniard or Frenchman.

I heard from your accent that you were Dutch, so that aroused my curiosity even more. Since then, I was hooked. I watched as much as I could in my free time, and after a month I finished all the seasons episodes. It's mindblowing, and sometimes emotional! You teached me so much about geology, cultures, histories and more. As a historian, I am not only interested in human history, but also in nature in general. I just wanted to thank you and show my appreciation. I love what you are doing and hope to do a fraction of the adventure motorcycle riding that you have done. I also love your openess and respect towards other people. I think you are very brave, funny, and a great human being, also with a flair of 'Hollandse nuchterheid' 😉You reaffirmed what I always thought, that most people are good. So, I hope you will keep on riding for a long time. I sponsored you a little, by buying a T-shirt. Also because it looks awesome, and I will buy some more in the future. Groetjes van Kris uit Amsterdam! Ps: One question...don't you ever swear? With all the mishaps you had, I think I would have sweared a couple of times.😌

The beautiful back country, the friendly people and, I realize this is not about gear but I can’t help it, what a wonderful, sturdy little bike and the nice set up that just works so very well. It’s very impressive. Amazing really, the whole thing, week after week.

I just find the bikes you have toured with in the seasons up to now incredibly reliable bearing in mind the punishment they have been subjected to on many of the roads - I would have expected a lot more reliability issues, so I am impressed!

50 years ago I had a Honda 90 . That thing took a lickin and kept on tickin considering it had to carry my bulk..250 lbs.... I took it up a Jeep trail in Colorado. I did stop and put snow on the transmission to cool it down.

Chimanimani is still reeling from the effects of Cyclone Idai. You can see the effects of mudslides and washed up river beds. Slowly roads coming back to life thanks to GVT of Zimbabwe + Zimbabwe military plus help from South African defence force engineering department

Beautiful! So glad you had a nice sunny day to travel. The falls were spectacular to say the least. The drone footage was so cool for up close and personal view of them. All the drone footage was jaw dropping. You have once again captured Zimbabwe and shared it’s uniqueness with us. Thank you Noraly for another great ride along!

Grew up in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe (closer to Chipinge), such a beautiful place. It reaches into your soul - God's country. Back roads that very few folks know of.

The courtesy of the lovely people of Chimanimani is so humbling. Moved into the area years and was surprised at how the people would stop to say hi and like Lucas they can approach you if they sense one might need some help. Our country has been let down in so many ways but what God has given will always shine. Am again at ends with the courtesy of our visitor; engine is turned off, appreciates the local and she is so original. Well done Itchy Boots for your tours, am moved to try that some day…

I am a Canadian senior and admire Noraly's knowledge and abilities. I find it interesting that she is riding a Honda 250cc motorcycle. I am listeneng to the same sound that my 1985 Honda 250cc Big Red 3whl ATV makes and imagining doing these roads with it changing gears along the way. Nice !

The steps on the waterfall were pretty amazing. I'm not sure I ever seen anything like that before. I'm sure the last thing the people on the banana plantations expected to see that day was a solo woman on a motorcycle. I imagine there was some relief when you were seemingly lost to making it back to civilization again. Thanks, Noraly! Only 150,000 more subscribers to one million.! 😎
