Sorry in advance! This one is a long video!
This My first Ms460 build! I read all bs on google and forums and everyone's rambling 2 cents that never built one either I'm guessing. Cause 90% of what most told me is clearly not the case.
PK80 bottom half not a good choice! Better one would be a yd100 bottom half. People say oh well when I built mine I used 80cc bottom half bolts nearly lined up! LOL full of BS to the core! 50x55mm bolt pattern! about barely fits on top of that! Now on a Yd100 I could see this maybe if you cut each hole as a slot 2.5mm toward the center.
People said the Stock MS460 piston would not work in the build! You need to make a spacer or use a ms380 piston! this thing came out so freaking close to near perfect I about fell over in disbelief! My guess is someone got to crazy with decking the bottom half and the thing was 1mm shorter then use to be! I only cut 2 passes off my bottom half @ .2mm each pass!
But yeah most of the stuff I read and people told me over and over again cause you know they know it all from the guy that knows the guy that got told by other guy, cause he saw it on google!
So with that said I cut my jugs bolt pattern on 45 degree slants inward 3mm each to give me enough material to get this bird rolling further along!
When I put the jug on with no gasket I came out to .37mm squish right off the bat! We need about .6 - .9 to get a semi decent running engine to start with! Anyhow so far this project has been fun!

I love what you did with the clutch Would really like to take it for a test ride and see how that feels. I started with one of these motor kits last summer an 80cc And it has become an addiction I love upgrading these things and seeing what I can get out of them I now have 2 of the 80cc a 100cc and a 110CC soon I'll have a new ride for every day of the week. My favorite engines is the 80cc but they all have potential to be more.

I am considering! Full split unit ac! Yeah seen those pretty neat little buggers. Run cold water through coils and blow air by them. I looked at that while back only thing is I hear it can cause black mold to grow super fast from like what you said the humidity they put out! black mold stuff grows better then lawn in sc lol!

Hey how you doing? Nice shop . I wish i could have some space but the shop were i had my stuff got rented out. Im working in my second chainsaw friction powered mountain bike. My first one was a prototype and it worked well for about 7 months till I blew the piston and carved a line deep enough for the bullet train to pass by . This one now is gonna be aluminum frame with most of the stuff aluminum that i got from a tossed off bike . Is gonna be powered by a 50 cc poulan powermonster friction propelled. Im heading to Puerto Rico to get the “axle” knurled cause the place where i work have a tool shop but my friend is out in vacation for a month. Trying to get it ready for may . Thanks for thr entertainment and knowledge.

@@BuildBreakFixhey thanks . The new one has gone through some newer modifications and and now it has a newer frame cause the aluminum one had a hairline crack at the fork stem. It’s working fine and i can pick up speed up to 28 mph +. The roller was custom made by a friend at the work shop with knurling. Its the grip part from tools . I tried getting bmx footpegs but this was free from the scrap container. Take care.

I reviewed the cutaway video of your explanation of the ms460 squish value if 1.5-1.6 mm. Yet, in the final build you contradict your own advice and go with .8 mm. I watched the ride videos and .8 mm squish seems to have worked out. Any thoughts?
@BuildBreakFix
@BuildBreakFix 6 месяцев назад
That was a 54mn after stock top end.( Magnum). It has squish value of 1mm to .75mm called a speed saw jug. Normal Ms460 52mm is 1.5-1.8 actually. Designed to have lots of low end to get a chain going in stuck wood and such . Other is more competition saw jug.

Why are the jugs with the fins crossing through on the top no good , but the jugs with the flat block on the top more ideal for the build ?

Hey bud I'm sorry that you're not selling saw builds anymore I was looking forward to buying one from you. I have a question, should I run a reed setup on my saw 460 engine or gust a hose for intake and carb? I know you know what your doing and would appreciate you advice. I'm not a professional so I really can't make up my mind.i only want to do this once if possible and the right way. So I'm thinking about getting one from Ken Henson an the engine he showed me only has intake and carb no reed setup.can you please let me know what you think the best way to go thanks for your time and help.

Use a hose! Reed valve takes alot of port timing changes. It's really complex. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b1b0wk1fH3w.html

I follow that the Pk-80 has a 38mm stroke, but the Yd-100 can come in at 42. Am I right in assuming that if you where to do this exact build on a Yd-100 bottom, that you would have to change the crank? I assume changing the rod would mess up the whole geometry. Love the vids Man. Can't wait to see the twin 460 breath FIRE🔥.
@BuildBreakFix

I did a cut away view so you can see 38 and 40 mm crank in a ms460 saw build. But yes your correct 38mm crank is ideal! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b1b0wk1fH3w.html

@BuildBreakFix
@BuildBreakFix Год назад
Did you see my cut in half timing of ms460 video I did. Explains a bunch on it. But don't change intake at all! Number one killer of power funny enough! Honestly even with 100% on point perfect timing altering ports and such almost zero noticable power change. Last build was to the 2 perfect. One before it was stock porting can't notice any changes Though when your going 55mph on bicycle no one really does notice the 4% change lol

@BuildBreakFix

Before anything! Make sure head bolts are tightened evenly! suppose to be 15FTLB's if you put small amount of that red make a gasket on the actual gasket it seals up really well if there is some sort imperfection causing it! Actually using that on this build when do the head in next video even lolz works great just in case kind of thing! Just lightly though!

my phantom 85 version three came with a drilled out rod for 12 mm pin, since you had this engine all the way down ,why not drill the rod..anyway carry on with the good work.
@BuildBreakFix
@BuildBreakFix 2 года назад
the gen 4 phantoms have a 22mm crank opening and 18mm Piston opening. MZL100 rod i think it's stamped with. 118 mm long 88mm center to center! but yeah you can't buy them! no stock of those to buy yet! you can't drill a rod out! it has 10% cobalt and 15% carbide in the steel mix! As soon as they mill it and carbonize it then heat treat that thing nothing will scratch it even lol! Drag one one day if you can on pavement or concrete can scratch your name in it but wont hurt the rod!

@@BuildBreakFix I did not know the rods were so tough very good to know, I nearly tried it on my first phantom but just put a yd 100 jug and piston on, no window but I did put a third transfer in ….g2 reed pwk 21 so far fastest engine…no base gasket, raised the exhaust a couple mm, hogged out the bottom of case below the intake, did not put a degree wheel on it I may now that it runs so good so I can repeat it lol

@@BuildBreakFix Your vids are getting really informative, the crank balancing one really helped me understand the weight of each drilled hole, I was curious if the windmill effect would work for turbulence by drilling holes all the way around circumference of counter weights, in race car engines we knife edge cranks to cut down on windage…just a thought.
@TheLouisamite
@TheLouisamite 2 года назад
What crank is that,? How is your sqwush inside a mm ? Every jug I've ever used had to be cut down to get the sqwush right ,is it a 38mm rod?
@BuildBreakFix
@BuildBreakFix 2 года назад
Didn't have to cut anything down I used a 38mm stroke "crank" and a lz40mm rod. Rods just change in weight not size or length. Af80, lz40mm, yd100 are all the same dimensions. Squish in this built is .76 mm. I build my ou own cranks. Here is a video with lots of info I did on how to balance one like in this build! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c2PImNzCufo.html

How did you do 38 mm stroke crank if the lz40mm is a 40mm stroke?
@kakawmkgraw1570
@kakawmkgraw1570 Год назад
And rods do change in length. Zae50 rod is a 38 mm stroke crank fm80 is a 38 mm stroke both are shorter and thinner than yd100 rod
@BuildBreakFix
@BuildBreakFix Год назад
That is a rod stamp to I'd what rod it is. Has zero to do with stroke length. Rod stamp states the rods 116mm geometry and weight! Stroke is determined by the crank pins center location in relation to center of cranks output axles. Example: If the crank was 30mm then the same rod would create 30mm stroke. Hope that helps explain it! To many people think rod stamps indicate stroke. Very much so not the case! Another example! Seen yd100 cranks come in at 42mm strokes as well but most assume cause it has yd100 stamped on the rod it means 40mm
