Hey I want to adjust my clutch arm on my motor but it won’t pop off. I removed the nut on top of the clutch bar. It still won’t come off. Is there a certain way to remove it? Because it’s hitting my frame and I want to move it out more.
@motoredbikemadness2061
@motoredbikemadness2061 3 года назад
It’s pressed on, you can support it underneath then hammer the nut (threaded on loosely). Kind of hard to remove bc you can break the pin that holds it in if you just pry it up. But then you can reinstall it at another angle to the shaft
@artofdisguy3401
@artofdisguy3401 3 года назад
Pull the arm out,slip it into a cylinder with arm at top, put nut back on a couple threads,then give it a good sharp hit with a hammer, that pops em free

Shouldn’t matter much, just make sure the ignition magnet isn’t too close to rubbing on the seal before assembling everything. I’d try to make the crank centered as much as possible, but seen a lot of motors come with tons of slop, where you can see the gear shifting while running bc it wasn’t even shimmed enough from the factory

I find these videos to be very helpful. As I have a similar issue with my motor and the pin or collar may be the issue. While going down the road l heard something snap inside the case and it died on me. Tried to restart it and it would still roll over but not catch a hold. So I put it away for the winter till I had time to tinker on it. At least I got some place to start that makes sense on what my issue mostly is with my Grubee Skyhawk.

I'm curious if the collar could be threaded in one of the holes. Replace the pin with a grade 5 bolt that has had the head cut off and trimmed to length. Then cut a slot in the remaining shank to use a flat tip driver and threadlock. While the pin is annoying to replace, it would be easier to replace than any of the formed parts.

Hello LA Hover Bikes, I just started having clutch issues too however mine was obvious as when I opened the case oil was everywhere haha The oil seal is now damaged but I believe it wasn't seated properly and it in fact came further forwards towards the drive gear. Is there anything that normally holds them in or possibly use a nylon spacer on the shaft to stop it sliding out? Or would this cause more damage. Ordered a new seal from a bearing shop and new pads for later in the mean time but I don't want this happening again.
@LAHover
@LAHover 3 года назад
No, they are just pressed fit into the case. However if they where damaged during installation (which is fairly common), the oil will leak around them causing them to blow out due to the case pressure.
@09mantlek
@09mantlek 3 года назад
@@LAHover I see. It appears mine had blown out however if there is pressure in the lower case to cause this surely this would happen if it was leaking or not? is it jest best to cold press this evenly back into the case then? Or will I need to heat it up slightly?
@LAHover
@LAHover 3 года назад
They will blow out if damaged and/or if they are installed poorly from the factory. Grease them up before installing them, they just push right in place. All 2 stroke cases work like pumps, they hold pressure and vacuum with each revolution. But normally not enough to blow out a good seal.

Dude thank you so much for this. I’ve been slowly assembling my phantom 85 and upgraded nearly all external parts on the bike. Final step of installing drive chain, and I knocked out the clutch. Thinking I had destroyed my engine I almost gave up. Watching this video showed me all I did was knock out the seal and lose all spring tension. Appreciate your insights and work to edit all of these! 👍👍

I doubt you actually reply to these but I got a china doll kit that didn’t free wheel properly when engaging the bar. It feels like the drive gear was under compression and clicks over quickly after hanging up for a sec every time you turn it by prying on it with a screwdriver. Hard to turn this gear even when clutch plate is removed. It may not be the clutch but it is something internal. know what else it would be. It almost seems like maybe it has a broken shaft spring? And I don’t know how to fix it because I don’t know what’s causing this action.

I installed new clutch packs, and after a day they slip and motor won’t engage…it’s annoying when you spend time sanding and shaping them…just to have them slip again…I tried cleaning the surface with brake cleaner making the Spanner a little bit tighter…I decided to use another motor’ out of Frustration. I have three motors that I’m trying to fix….sometimes the bearing will get stuck in the motor causing it to slip, I had a customer that clutched the hell out of the motor.

Have you ever got a replacement clutch shaft and had issues with the keyway slots not not fully showing past the bearings like 25% of keyway slots not showing past bearings on each side. Im thinking the new clutch shaft is too short. In my situation I had a lil bit of the key under the bearing so the part of the key that locks the sprocket on was raised and I couldn’t get the sprocket on unless I filed down the key a little bit

Now, I have designed and built a motor mount system that isolates the motor from the frame with actual rubber 'bumpers'. 4 of them. They are very easy to work with, extremely effective, and I intend to market them at a reasonable price. I would truly appreciate if I could send you a set for one of your in depth and honest reviews. How can I contact you for a shipping address? I honest cannot sit down and watch a full video most of the time bc I am working around the house. So I watch it in parts as I take my breaks. I am on disability and it is time to get ready for winter here in Idaho. So I do things slower than I use to. I am wanting to build a 4 stroke over the winter so it is done by spring or a little after. So I am watching tons of videos as it is my first one and I want to do it right the first time even if it takes me longer to build it. So I look at all the videos as good or great videos. It is not how well they are made or how much I learn that makes good or great videos. Most of the videos that I have seen are from people that love to do this and they are taking their time to show other people to help them. That alone, to me, makes a good or great videos. Yes, some are better then others but for the most part they are all good. I do not understand people putting the thumbs down, judgemental idiots and negative A#%@&&. I will try to make a video building my 4 stroke motorbike over the winter as they are hard to find on RU-vid. Most videos are 2 stroke. I understand the more strokes are not always better but how you ride them. LOL. HAHAHAHA. I just hope my video turns out as good as the others I have seen. STAY SAFE and DON'T GET RUN OVER.

Hello my issue is the opposite of a missing ball bearing. For some reason after taking the clutch pressure plate off for diagnosing then putting back on, the bucking bar sticks out too far on the other side which makes the cam shaft not turn at all. Which in turn makes me unable to rotate the clutch rod, making it so I can’t engage to clutch at all. Any ideas?

My inner shaft is not fixed when I unscrew the flower. My bike looses power after 100 meters and dies out. I hear some rattling in the motor. Can the loosen inner shaft be causing this problem? Well the reason I watch is so I can better understand how to fix these engines first and foremost but also everything that goes into owning one of these and I just find it to be an intresting hobby... So when it comes to the shorts I dont think I would have a whole lot of use for those...

Thanks for the good info. I was so nervous about doing this. Turns out the pin was seated properly. I could only see one of the threads on the shaft by the spring so I tightened it it until two are visible. I guess it was just dirty clutch pads because the only other thing I did was clean them and the basket and now my engine doesn't slip when I try to start it.

Excellent clutch tutorial. I actually watched to the end since you suggested it. Ten minutes later my clutch was working great and I was cruising down the road. Thanks

So why is it I hear that some of them Springs there that are in the middle of the clutch says that you got to rotate it and turn 10 to 12 times and that is a proper rotation on the spring tightness why do I hear that

tighten the flower nut. This will give the bucking bar more room.

Hi I have a brand new kit and everything is assembled correctly but I'm having clutch issues. No matter what I try I can't get it unstuck back tire stays locked up and when squeezing in clutch handle nothing happens. What can I do?
@LAHover
@LAHover 2 года назад
It's common for new kits (and bike that sit for a while). Sometimes the pressure plat gets stuck to the clutch pads. With the clutch lever all the way out, take off the big clutch cover and use a flat head to pray the plate off of the pads. If that is not the issue, make sure the drive chain is not folded on top of the small sprocket. If it is than your chain is too long and binding up when you start the bike or pull in the clutch.

my gas bike vibrates SO BAD. i have everything mounted correctly with anti-vibrating mounts. it my engine for sure. How can I fix this please help?
@LAHover
@LAHover 2 года назад
Vibration can often be caused by a motor running to rich. Try dropping the needle (raising the clip) in the carburetor 1-2 notches.

Loved this video it really helped me out with knowledge for the future, however, I have an issue where the clutch is not turning the smaller gear correctly, what is this problem? Any idea on how to fix or where to look?? Thanks again for your knowledge 💪💪

Could you be more specific? When you say the small gear is not turning correctly, I'm not sure what that would be.

Hey LA! im looking to get a motorized bike kit but don't know what one! my friends are getting some 80cc eBay ones but I wanna get a 100cc so I can beat them without breaking the bank, what kit do you recommend?

With these cheap china motors you need to check a few things on them before you run them. There are a handful of videos about checking the piston direction, slag / casting flakes, oil seals, squish gap etc... Here is the one I'm using, it has been a solid little motor. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WPWC23D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1

late to the party here, but those short videos would be tremendously useful, even if just a 20 second video explaining a random engine part biweekly or something, or giving a small tip to a passerby, would also introduce more people to the hobby!
