Update: I haven't been able to use the device as much as I have wanted, but it often fails to connect to GPS even with a clear view of the sky. It didn't work on my hike and even during my walk around my neighborhood. I wouldn't recommend this device because it most likely won't work reliably with no obstructions let alone under tree cover.
I am not really satisfied with mine anymore. I haven't done a lot of hiking recently, but the few times I did it had trouble locking into a GPS. I had no idea they are going bankrupt. Wow.
