Had bought this phone for my mother last month. Have done all that is required to reduce battery draining, but still it drains battery a lot. I have noticed that Mediatek chips tend to drain battery much more than SnapDragon chips. Regret buying this phone. No more Mediatek based phones hereafter :-(

Its not true i have 3 redmi mobiles all are snapdragons & one oppo A53s which is meditek, the phone is really never heated almost 3 yrs now battery backup fanatsic, now i purchased this moto g54 its not that over heating its just normal phone like warm, at the end everything is machine like car,bikes,bus,computer or mobiles heating is needed for best performance, my experience this is best chip-set till today of mediatek, trust me snapdragon heating lot in gaming or RU-vid, it works well but for heating issue is major those are saying snapdragon not heating it don't believe them from my experiences.

PC :- Amd vs intel and amd heat much but give more performance but intel stay cool giving slight less performance MediaTek vs snapdragon same as amd intel but in moto phones they use New chipsets first But didn't well optimised it with the device but launch it 😔

@@okok5198 Interesting comparison. But in case of smartphones, the market-share difference between Mediatek and SnapDragon isn't as much as it is in computing - AMD v/s Intel. In recent years Mediatek has launched many budget SoCs in Helios and Dimensity series, but they aren't as good as SD SoCs of comparable price-ranges. And as you say, on smartphones each company configures and optimises SoCs differently. So, phones with same SoC but from different brands may perform differently.

Change some settings and battery performance definitely improve 1.Go to settings > display>wake the display>moving the phone. Off it. In display section search screen saver and off it. 2. Go to settings>security & privacy>more privacy settings>app content. Off it. Scroll down you will see uses and diagnostics. Off it.

@@kamalroy3628 These settings are already turned off. Noticed yesterday before putting the phone to charge that "Mobile Network" had consumed 54% of battery since last charging. Now, I can't do anything about it, as I have already set the phone to operate on 'LTE' and not '5G' mode (though I do get 5G network of Jio on phone). To reduce this insane battery drain, have been putting phone on airplane mode overnight. Usually Mediatek SoCs drain battery, but this Dimensity 7020 SoC is new and seems not optimised for this phone. Luckily, this phone is mainly used by my mom, so minimal usage (mainly phone calls and some WA usage). Won't recommend this phone to anyone with even moderate usage.

Much needed video ... Recently I bought moto g 54 , nd i find out in normal usage it tends to heat quickly nd battery is draining fast , i was regretting that i bought this phone . Then i looked up for solutions nd find out ur video , this phone really needed all this settings adjustments . now all good , heating nd battery draining issue is solved ( although normal heating is still there ) Really helpful video Thanks alot 😊
