*INSTALL UPDATE* - I had a great conversation with Nomad'er Tom Wilkinson. In his case on his Mazda CX-5 using a Pixel 6 Pro, in addition to the troubleshooting tips I had in the video he had to reset the infotainment system in his car before it would install properly. He also confirmed that you can switch ones by repeating the pairing process with the phone you want to use. _Thank you very much Tom for the great info!_ Amazon is currently out of stock but will get more soon use this affiliate link to be notified when they're back in stock apparently they're hiding it from their website currently because of demand - technomad.link/ma1_android_auto_adapter

It's funny you sent this. This guy helped me 9 months ago when I first got it. We talked on the phone for about 45 minutes and we finally got it working. I just commented on his video again so maybe he can help again.

Two quick points. It needs a data port not charging port and 2, I just spent the hours equivalent of a couple of days trying to make this thing work. Even after pairing and running ok, it will not reconnect to my phone. Also tried a factory reset, several attempts in fact, butt never saw the yellow or white lights. Just gave up. Life's too short. Have arranged an Amazon return. Did not work for me but if people can run it, great for you and congratulations!

Great Info!!! That plug android auto then unplug and plug doggle into same USB part of directions is ridiculous..reset wait time and demo along with deleting cache was a big help too. Thank you

Thanks for an informative video! Just unboxed mine and was wondering about that "plug in then unplug then plug this in" part in the instructions. 🤔 Good to know I'm not the only one who thought it didn't make sense.

I can't connect Motorola ma1 to my phone I'll do everything but at the end nothing is working first white light shows and then green light blinks only 2 times and then red light shows ,can you help me out with this

Great review! How is the sound quality of music compared to wired in?

The same. The only thing I noticed is a very slight lag when I press a button on my in-dash display, but it's 2 degrees Fahrenheit here in Boston so it could just be that.

Will this solve the problem of our 3G being cut off from navigation in a lot of cars?

Well if you're using Android Auto it's using the Google Maps that's are on your phone so if your phone is able to get maps then your Android Auto will get maps as well So I guess if I understand your question correctly yes Just make sure that your car has Android Auto

I have Kia Optima 2017m with android auto, wired working without issue, but when I connect motorola ma1 my car can't see that adapter and android auto icon not active.

Unfortunately these things are a little tricky go step by step and do a hard reset once mine is up and running it stays running for weeks on end but if I plug it in AKA hardwire it then I have to go through the setup process all over again it's like one or the other

Does this wait to be out of home WiFi range before switching to the MA1 local hotspot?

Unfortunately it's not that sophisticated as soon as it gets power it starts looking to connect to your phone So even things like when my partner locks the car doors at night that Will trigger the cars on electric control system to come on and it will start trying to connect to my phone

Thank you You know I originally addressed this in my original video and then I cut it out because I don't like these videos to be too long. There were two things: When the car is started it will try to connect to that phone even if that phone is not in the car. For example our car is beneath our bedroom window; when my partner takes the car in the morning for the first minute or so until they pull out of the driveway it connects to my phone. The second thing It's no you can't have two phones paired at the same time; it seems to really flake out.

Very good question Well it's in your pocket it will work with your voice commands because it's going to use your car's Bluetooth speaker and microphone to listen for the commands and work.

Every thing done, but it doesn't connet. Samsung S9+ with Android 10 and Android Auto 8.5. Still flushing green after reset all.

I have an S9+ with Android 10 and it works with mine. Not sure that it matters, but Mercedes pre-installed android auto/carplay vehicle. I never did a reset. Plugged in phone first as usual, unplugged phone then plugged in unit with wifi and Bluetooth on during setup.

I did purchase one fist It would not pair than worked fine I have 2018 Chevy Malibu with wifi it connected to my wifi but only problem I had when I got home my phone had no data could not make a call I restarted my phone works fine now no more wires my wife says will see thank you subscribe today thanks for everything

Glad to hear that as I said I had many issues for us hooking mine up but now it's working just fine and I do enjoy popping in and out of the car I actually picked up a second unit and threw it in my luggage so that I have it with me when I go on vacation this summer. What phone are you using?

I have done this factory reset a dozen times and this still doesn’t work right. It shows on my Pixel 6 Pro that it is connected, but my 2020 Mazda CX-5 does not show anything plugged into the USB port.

I know I ran into an issue and I had to do a reset and it is not very straightforward. For me to get it to work, I had to do the reset, Unplug it. then as I said you have to clear the data and the cache of Android Auto on your phone, You can't uninstall it; because starting with Android 10 it's a system file. Also make sure to delete the entry in your Bluetooth menu. With everything off, plug the unit it first and then do the install. I know it can be frustrating I was on the phone with Motorola for about an hour and even they didn't know you had to hold it until it became yellow. Please let me know how this works out for you I'm very interested

@@TheHiTechNomad as I said, I've done this a dozen or more times without success. I am waiting for Motorola to get back to me on it, they have supposedly escalated the issue for me. I'm just ready to return it and forget it. It's not worth all the trouble I've had trying to set it up.

How is the audio quality with dis adapter? Because with wired Android auto que audio quality is poor.

As I said in a previous comment it's the same I'm curious when you say that with a wired one you're getting bad sound it should be coming straight out of the DAC so it actually should be pretty good what are you experiencing?

@@TheHiTechNomad i dont think the problem is with the DAC because when plat music with Bluetooth,radio or a memory card the sound quality is amazing except when a use Android auto.

Helpful video but just fyi, if android auto doesnt appear automatically after connecting bluetooth. Go to your AA app and check if the "enable wireless AA" is on. My was off and toggling on resolved my problem.

Thanks for this post M S. Worked for me. At first I could easily get the dongle paired with my phone but nothing happened. When I saw your post I went to the AA app on phone and enabled "Wireless AA" setting. Boom, up and running. Works great. Ford Fusion Sync 3; Pixel 3 XL.

This!!!! Tried for almost an hour pairing, resetting, cussing, etc. This one slider to enable wireless in the AA app fixed it immediately. Thank you.

It varies from phone to phone, so take this with a grain of salt. However, from my research I found the following information - Wireless projection is compatible with these Android versions: Any phone with Android 11.0. A Google or Samsung phone with Android 10.0. A Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, or Note 8, with Android 9.0. If you pick up a unit from Best Buy or Amazon. And for some reason you're unable to get it to work. You obviously can return it. PS: We have a unit coming in this week (Aug 30th,, 2022) that we will be doing a give away on to one of our subscribers. We will be doing a subscriber bulletin detailing how you can enter to soon!

Hmm.. disappointing. Why is the cable hard wired? My car only has USB-C not normal USB so that's a NO for me. Sad..

Yes it does assume that you have a USBA and my car Fortunately has a USB-A and a USB-C I did have a friend that got a USB extension used this device and just tucked it all up inside of the column inside of his car since once it set up you don't need to access it physically
