Great video, thank you. Would it be OK to use a few beads of the adhesive to secure the battery instead of needing to buy both the glue and the double sided tape? Is there a specific reason that the DS Tape is used. Thanks
Question: When you lift the battery there is a small ribbon cable that is positioned against the back wall of the phone. Towards the top, makes a 90 degree turn. Mine tore when I was cutting through the adhesive. Will the phone function without this?
I am supposed to change my battery on my Moto z play by the end of the month but I'm worried because my screen is cracked but the touch pad underneath it is working just fine, it's just the glass that is cracked. Do you think this would be a problem for the repairman? Can they cause more damage to the screen?
Help! (Again...) - new battery puffed up again, pushing screen off. This time, though, whatever is supposed to be in the UPPER LEFT hole (looks like the camera hole, but camera is on the right) is MISSING. Fell out after screen popped up, I guess. WHAT IS THIS MISSING PART, and might it be the reason why my screen goes black as soon as I hit Send button to make or receive calls? Can make/receive calls, but then can't input anything to "follow prompts". Thanks!
Press the power button and then you can. The light sensor isn’t working properly is all. The missing piece is the front camera flash. Make sure the light sensor is still in the phone (which is should, that shouldn’t just fall out) and make sure the screen is flat so it can work properly. Also make sure there’s nothing blocking it.
@@RealWorldReview Pushing the power button didn't work, but maybe it's because my screen isn't flat, because I'm waiting for a new battery to come. Is the light sensor part of what's on that "flap" attached to the top back side of the screen? Seems like that flap is meant to touch the metal box behind it, but can't because of the danged battery...!
Hi. I took my Moto z for battery replacement but the glue didn't hold on to the screen well. I took it back to the same guy n again the mobile screen is coming off. I don't know what to do now.
The battery might have pushed out the screen, but make sure they use glue to hold it down. Even strong double sided adhesive will not keep that screen down.
Hey man, I need some help, I lost my google pixel's sim card support.. and I have no idea how to use my sim card now.. Idk how to make one since there arent any for sale
You mean sim tray? There's a few on Amazon (affiliate) www.amazon.com/Alovexiong-Holder-Container-Replacement-Google/dp/B0784T2H2Y/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=pixel+xl+sim+card+tray&qid=1569777988&s=gateway&sprefix=picel+xl+sim+&sr=8-4&linkCode=sl1&tag=mattofrwr-20&linkId=f6bfe5f21b4cf10518d26674c2d047a7&language=en_US
Alternatively as far as the glue goes you can now buy a pre-cut out glue pack that you can just sit down in there and then push the screen down into it.
That's not a pull tab. To gain access to the pull tabs you have to remove the rear cover. Ultimately not worth it so just put a bit of alcohol under the battery
Yeah, I wrecked my original screen the first time I changed my battery, too. Those connections are SO delicate! Got a new screen from Repair Parts +, was EXTRA careful when I replaced it, and it's been fine. Well, until recently, when my new battery puffed up like the original, and my new screen popped up again & caused loss of an (apparently) important part. Screen still works, but goes black upon making/receiving calls. Can surf, text, etc., no problem - just calls...
@@oldMK1 Since this I've been using batteries from fixez.com, they seem to have good price on parts. I've replaced batteries for 4 different phones with their batteries. Their battery life isn't great, but pretty decent.
Nice video, but I think you should emphasize to go no deeper than half a centimeter around the edge of the screen as you use your credit card to pry off the screen. I slid it all the way down to the middle and cut the screen ribbon at the top :-(
