the 2009-present (North America) 2012- (Latin America) Chevrolet Traverse is assembled in Spring Hill, Tennessee, United States (2008-2009); Delta Township, Michigan, United States (2010-present)
Bought a '12 2LT (midrange) this spring, absolutely LOVE it!! Has the touchscreen nav system, Bose AM/FM/CD/XM, tri-zone automatic climate, power liftgate, power front moonroof, rear (non-opening) sunroof, all while keeping it 8 passenger as opposed to the 7 passenger LTZ. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (Beware, if you're coming from a smaller, more fuel-efficient model, be ready for shock at the gas pump....I had a Mazda5 beforehand. Just sayin')
Had a Traverse as a rental when my car was in the body shop for a run-in with a deer (somehow the deer won and ran off) I absolutely loved it. As for comparing it to the trailblazer or worse a Lex RX, you cannot. The Trailblazer was truck based, thus you would get the truck ride, and fuel economy that came with. But i loved my moms T-Blazers. Cant speak much for the RX but you cannot compare a midsize luxury crossover to a large crossover such as the Traverse fairly. I would get a traverse again
Everyone basis their car background on the GM of the 1980s and 1990s, not today. Same goes for Toyota and Honda. Case in point: 2003 Honda Accord and 2001 Acurat TL - both have horrendous transmission problems that no one but Consumer Reports taks about. I should know - I lost one in both my cars. Same goes for the 2001 Toyota Camry - engine sludge destroyed my neighbor;s engine, also mentioned in CU. Past reputations eat away at the US manufacturers even though they build some good cars.
I prefer the Chevrolet Uplander more because the rear seats in these have zero leg room. Uplander is bigger, cooler (has that cool column shifter too), more beautiful and a muscular beast!
To all you people out there trying to compare the Traverse to Lexus........... If I am buying a 2009 crossover I would like to get something that looks new and modern. I personally can barely tell the difference between a old Lexus RX or a brand new one.
41000 Grand loaded, is GM crazy. For a company going under that is not in the ball park at all. Plus, I could have a Lexus for 41000 give or take. And, I do understand this crossover holds eight but come on GM.
