@Pre00 And a diesel jetta will pass you at least 3 times in a 200 mile trip when your sitting at a gas station. Also, your complaining about wanting torque? Get a Jetta TDI and spend the 10k difference from your Evo to upgrade the turbocharger and computer, you can make at least 250 hp and 380 tq out of that engine reliably. The best part is the car will still be getting over 30 mpg, still twice what you get out of your Evo that you prob shift at redline, destroying the engine.
@LutzfromPS2 I would really prefer to support the economy of my own country, but until American companies start building cars that I would actually want and that don't fall apart, Japan and Germany will get my money
@LutzfromPS2 lasted, the huge benefit of the additional torque (forget HP torque is what matters, ask any racecar driver, ask anyone that drives a semi). And the fact that it even has a tax break for it when you buy one. yea the US car makers have it figured otu because the car salesman in general doenst' even know a DAMN thing abotu what's under the hood, let alone what options you have inside the doors.
and in reguards to these new revelatious engines...don't buy into the bull shit. they have tiny ass fuel filters that plug up easily, especially with biodiesel in some places. they're more expensive to fix, and get shitier mileage than the older engines. i'm a trucker, and we all hate these new engines in semi's too. the old jetta was perfectly fine the way it is. if ur too damn stupid to not drive a car cuz it's a little noisier than ur gas car, u don't deserve to be on the road.
Ummm... TG USA won't be doing that. Though the real reason for that is simply that they won't get the opportunity. The show was canceled before it even started. The whole project is dead. There were rumors that it might be about a year ago (which were supposedly dispelled), but it was confirmed to be dead quite a few months ago.
oh no. it is you sir who have no clue. i know several farmers with this knew tier 3 style engine and they have all had similar problems. as well as many trucker guys i know. i speak the truth...and i must congratulate you on your timing. i haven't checked my mail in like a week and just happened to catch it 12 minutes after you posted.
they're completely different. sure, they're both automotive shows that are shown on public television, but that's where comparison ends. firstly, the British public television (the BBC) gets a much higher budget than American (PBS); the British can thank their tax system for that. Top Gear is more dramatized, while Motorweek does the best with what its given as a straight-forward magazine show. Oh, and sorry to burst your bubble, but Top Gear USA is about unlikely as a Kia supercar.
Why get a ford focus when you can get a voltswagen diesel with just as much horsepower and twice the torque? I understand why american car companys are going bankrupt.
It's not demand. Ford probably won't ever see diesel cars in North America because gas prices have rebounded so the woefully out-of-date Fusion hybrids can still be sold.
wait a second!!!! a real 6 speed manual with clutch and all? i thought they only had that manual sequential tiptronic hyperbolic bull shit shifter......i'm pleased.
+Fred Medina 0609370 not all lies.....the power, the fuel economy, and all that are the same. the only 'lie' is the oxides of nitrogen emissions, which are plenty low, just not what the EPA and Euro Tiers want it to be.
+Dan C. yeah but with that said its like when I go and take my car to get fixed cause i don't think ill go for the buy back, ill loose all those great features especial the MPG :(
? I thought that only applied to the new ones. Are they really giving people shit for 7 year old used ones? I'm thinking of buying an '06+ so this definitely would be an issue for me. Though I do my own maintenance and stay far away from the stealership.
@LutzfromPS2 Becuase putting a Diesel engine into the vehicle costs MONEY! Duh! A gasoline engine can be made for as little as $800 USD, and the factory is there in the US. Meanwhile to get a Diesel in the US market, requires you IMPORT the engine across the ocean from wherever (i'm nto gonna scour for the factory location, there is no US small diesel plant) pluss it will cost around $2500... now, will I pay an extra $3000 for a diesel? No. I would not... unless I understood how much LONGER it
