I bought my wife this car,we love our new ILX A-Spec, this thing is just simply awesome. I've read review after review and i'm glad that we I didn't pay attention to the naysayers. There may be haters on this car but it works well for us.
Man, this guy has been hosting Motor Week for like 30 years. And he doesn't look 30 years older compared to his videos decades ago. Maybe its the spray on tan (or real tan) that keeps him somewhat younger looking.
K-Tuned Turn Down muffler opens up the sound to this engine. Smooth car and great DCT that you can daily and have a little fun with actual paddle shifting.
What difference does it make to everyone here if it runs 7 seconds or 6.5 seconds 0-60? It's a entry level luxury car that's supposed to have a little fun to it. You're not going to be running with evos and gtrs so who give a fuck anyway ? Plus, it's 1/4 of a mile was quick. 14.7 is what I ran in a 2001 Type-R.
The 2013 accord sport i4 6spd Manual 0-60mph is 6.6 and 1/4mile 15.2@94mph weighs around 3300lbs and 189hp peaks at 6400rpm. The ILX is faster in the 1/4 mile because its a 8spd DCT and weighs around 3100lbs and 201hp peaks at 6800rpm. I suspect both of them with 2.4 i4's are underrated
Naming this abomination an Integra would soil and disrespect the name of the Integra and what it and Honda used to stand for. If Honda wants to make a new Integra, they need to do it right, or it will be another failure like the revival of the CRX in the form of the hybrid CRZ.
These are very impressive numbers for a 4 cylinder. The 8 speed automatic got a lot of good reviews in the ILX, and in the TLX as well. However, the 9 speed automatic in the TLX did not get very good reviews.
Bcomes What does that have to do with anything? A "luxury car" should have all features that a 14 year old economy car has. In addition to the latest gadgets.
OssxJah you’re exactly right. gotta go into the struggling acura dealership (because it’s a mediocre brand, as we all know it, and much worse than Lexus) and haggle them down because they can barely churn over 20,000 units sold every year. If you were to go into A lexus dealer and buy an RX, you wouldn’t have much luck, since the car is destined to be bought at MSRP because it’s so successful that they don’t have to rely on negotiation for sales...
Wish they would offer a 6 speed manual. I can easily see the DCT 8 speed becoming a maintenance nightmare for us owners that keep our Acuras a long time.
I feel like Acura has lost it's brand identity compared to it's competitors. Every time I pass one on the road I can help but think they bought a overpriced honda accord/civic. I personally would rather get a accord v6 with a manual. It's just more appealing to me.
Adam K An Accord V6 is going to be larger and heavier. Not everyone wants that. Plus the Acura's can be heavily discounted. It may not cost you more to buy an Acura.
Honda keeps on missing the mark with these cars.great platform but needs more drivetrain options.200hp and fwd for a base version seems fine but why not offer a type s version with at least 280hp and sh awd only then would entry, luxury and enthusiast buyers appreciate a car like this and at the same time give the Germans, wrx etc a run for their money
Nathan Huth Road test Jeep Renegade, standing in front of a Renegade. Road test Chrysler 300, standing in front of a Chrysler 300. Road test BMW I3, standing in front of an I3. Road test HR-V, standing in front of a CR-V, but at least references the CR-V to give context to its presence. Road text Ford Edge, standing in front of an Explorer but makes reference to the Explorer to give context to its presence. I'll stop there. No reference why TLX is in this video until further in video when discussing the Acura lineup.
***** Ok, maybe you don't know which part I'm referring to. I'm referring to the very beginning when he's talking about the ILX, but it's CLEARLY the TLX he's standing in front of. If you STILL think this is the ILX, then you need to just quit, now, because you have zero clue.
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials That is what I want. The 8 speed DCT is amazing despite of it is not a manual. I used to own a VW CC with 6 speed DSG. The honda unit feels sportier, even it is their first shot.
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials Seriously. I'm so massively disappointed that Acura isn't offering the 6-speed with an LSD like the Si. I'm sure there's a market for people who love the sportiness of the CIvic Si, but with a more grown-up and luxurious feel without having to upsize to the mid-size Accord Sport.
The idea that anyone would buy cars like this is completely foreign to me. It's hard to say this without being offensive and I'm sorry if I do offend anyone but I just could never ever spend 35 grand on a car like this or indeed any new car. I mean for that money, I could have a MkIV Supra, two R32 Skylines, any one of a plethora of beautiful classics, or an old BMW... the list goes on forever.
Axel Trainwagon not everyone wants old cars. what baffles me is your inability to comprehend the needs of others, which makes you a sociopath. people want modern features and creature comforts, like AC, mp3, bluetooth, a quiet ride, and modern safety tech. Its's not that hard to understand. No one wants a shit old bmw or skyline except for ricer morons.
wonderwall135 Are you kidding me right now man? Do you honestly think a ricer moron could afford an old Skyline. They can hardly afford a Honda Civic which is why they get such cheap stupid modifications. And sorry to burst your bubble, but for $35,000, anyone could buy an older car and put in aftermarket mp3 players, bluetooth speakers, sound deadening or even air conditioning. Not that they would even need to pay for AC because all the cars I've listed and tons more came with air conditioning. Additionally, if they were real safety freaks they could even pay to reinforce the chassis and it would still be cheaper than a new car. You also said that because I don't understand the needs of others, I'm a sociopath but then immediately went on the describe what other people WANT. Wants and needs are two very different things and none of the things you enumerated are needs for anybody. I can very well comprehend the needs of others. I just cannot comprehend why someone would drop $35,000 on a brand new Acura when there are a plethora of used cars and yes classic cars too that they could buy instead and still have room to modify them to their liking. You can have fun in your boring new cars though because that just means more fun cars for me. Have a great day.
wonderwall135 He isn't unable to comprehend the "needs of others." As much as everyone likes cars they are still wants and having specific features on a car is even less of a need than a car itself. AC isn't difficult to find on a used or classic car if you look in the right places. Modern safety tech is all well and good, but still can't beat driving in the first place and if you can't drive without "needing" safety tech, you shouldn't have a license. In addition $35,000 is a lot of money to spend on a Honda with a better sound system and leather seats. I respect that some people want to buy new budget luxury cars, but I have to say it is not a wise way to spend a significant amount of hard-earned money.
Wheels look horrible and the engine is yawn inspiring, but the body looks much better. Acura needs to make this RWD and give it a turbo.. 260HP/260lb-ft of torque and RWD would help this compete with most cars in this class. Oh and a manual, please.
