Hi Simon, thank you very much for your hints, they definitely work! I always thought that having the throttle closed when leaning hard would destroy the grip but apparently not, and the bike changes direction much much better. I tried all your tips at Jerez this last WE and they all worked great, even on an old 1962 Manx Norton!! All the best, Jérôme

I have heard you should have a fist length from tank to crotch I like being forward. You are right. I also try to stay on ball of feet. My 1 day instructor also said keep off to one side ...he looked like he was ALWAYS ready for the next turn. That's 2 correct for you. If I enter to hot I DO know how to trail brake but is feels dicy when I'm deep in the lean...made a mistake and got lower and steeper lean because I was drifting wide and could not shorten the arc.... and dropped it on the low side at 50mph it was a 35 40mph turn... hard narrow 180 degree. I was Keith Coding by neutral to increasing throttle roll? It felt it was wrong at that speed and lean... I could have rolled off with no ENGINE brake action. Can I roll out at 50 down to 35 40 mph and add lean or would have slower speed even saved me? Wish I had replay of my mistake... still unsure exactly what laid me down low side. I had warm street tires non comp. But should have been efficient... my chicken strips showed all the way to the edge lean. Tires at 34 and 32 front on a 95 degree day. Hot! What is best temp 160 farenheit? Guess I will keep more notes and researching and practicing and start recording gopro.. I am afraid the addiction has got me. Please any ideas or tips are welcome... I have about 1400 miles in 8 weeks on a CREAMPUFF W/12,000 MILES 2006 CBR 6004FI . But 46 years, with a fast engine between me legs, on a bike. I'm comfortable at speed and feel one with the bike... a little fear kicks in at about 135 mph. Gotta learn metric all you Great Brits have some great riders. I like Shaky.

Why do you keep your chest and head up so high through the corner... isnt it ideal to be lower?
@papo140
@papo140 6 лет назад
great video, however im a little confused about your top half positioning. You keep your head very high up and at times even apper to be "crossed up" on the bike. The bulk of the information i have read online suggests keeping your head low and towards your wrist. ould greatly appreciate if you could clarify. thanks!

my2C, it depend is it's a high speed or low speed turn, at low speeds the head is lower so there's more weight over the front end (more chest over the handlebars)

@papo140 I agree with the comment. It is also important to *rotate the shoulders* in the direction of the turn to achieve '' correct '' body posture , if you're turning right rotate your shoulders and body to the right , bend and push out the elbow while using ice cream cone grip. safe riding everyone !

What? How come the gear selector is opposite to a normal bike?! Usually to shift down you press down, and up for up
@motovudu

A lot of racers and riders that ride on circuit use reverse gear pattern. It does have some advantages

i have a liter fireblade and i am scared to go on redline,i dont know whats gonna happend but my insticts telling me its dangerous,somebody tell me what should i wait to go redline and start changing gears up and up

Litre bikes are extremely fast. All my advice is for the circuit. If you are talking about the circuit it sounds like you need some time on a 600 so you will feel more the boss of the bike and can grow in confidence. If on the other hand you are talking about riding on the street, Im with you, redline while full throttle on the street feels dangerous to me too.

Here's a genuine question for you Simon....I would greatly appreciate it if ude give me 2mins of your time for a reply because I keep reading conflicting info on this subject. I am riding an old 05 fireblade....she's gawjus🤣✌only 7k miles....anyway it sais on my swing arm tyre pressers 36f 42rear.....surely that is too high? I ride fast road in Wales UK. Our roads are a mix of tight twisties, long broad open corners where u can keep steady high pace and very fast open straights....our roads meander beuitefully through the countryside so if your feeling frisky the tyres prob get pretty hot as I only really ride on days 18°c and above, rarely lower. I am riding on Pirelli Corsa Diablo which I have used for years on quite a few diff litre bikes. My question is should I lower the tyre pressure in the front and rear? Although I have never had any slides as such, I have never felt like my front tyre is truly planted, do u think trying with a 34f 38r would make much difference to the bike on the road (fast road riding) I try to be as smooth as I can with all my movements not to unsettle the bike at any given time!? I appreciate your content so a little advice would be much appreciated. I know your a track rider but you must have been a weekend warrior at some point? Thankyou simon. From sunny South West Wales uk😁🤙🏼🇬🇧

Any vague feelings on the road are nothing to do with your tyre pressures, get your suspension professionally set up for your weight and speed.
