I was working in vancouver once(For years) at a hotel. ( I met hunter 3 times)got into a elevate with Ian Hunter: he said how are you, everytime I come to Vancouver it rains except this time it is really beautiful here. Then he said: I remember you from last time I was here SCott right (my last name)I was blown away^ I mean the people he must meet on his travels and the guy remember my last name, wow. last time he was in Vancouver, well, at this hotel anyway was about 18 months previous. I picture him inventing me into his room sometimes for a drink and we end up talking " Ronson" stories all night. Now that would be something.

1st concert I ever went to. Queen was suppose to open but had to cancel...REO subbed in. After the show I saw Ian and Overend getting off the elevator at the Hyatt with a girl on each arm....this has 3 almost original members.....with Ian, Ariel, and Morgan Fisher.....when I saw them 1st in 1975 Mick Ralphs had already left....he wasn't there long.
Great, but this is not MTH. This is Ian Hunter and guests. With out Buffin, Overend, Verden, and Mick Ralphs you shoud not trade on their reputations. Good, but the originals were so much better.
The was time when Mott only needed one lead guitar... Luther Grosvenor ("Arial Bender"). Now in this video Mott has has several and Bender no longer seems to be playing with a full deck for the most part. He thinks he is the star of the band and not just part of it and had become real PITA on stage
i saw Mott The Hoople 5 times in the 70ties.....never by design. they were always on the ticket with bands i would pay to see like Queen...Aerosmith...Blue Oyster Cult...Kansas and so forth....i admit 1 of the 5 shows was good. it was good as Mick Ralphs laid down some fine guitar lines and solos....he left the band for Bad Company and MOTT was fancy costumes and nice big boots with very vanilla like shows from that point on....average at best. Aerosmith blew em off the stage and i felt bad at how a crazed crowd gave MOTT a "polite" applause as the headliner....Aerosmith should have headlined but the promoters messed that up bad. this version of MOTT should be worth $10 per ticket....anything more and you're getting ripped off!!!
