I'm enjoying the New Eternia line a hell of a lot. Even the weaker figures like Zodak and Jitsu are really good. Trap-Jaw and Man-at-Arms are rumoured to be future releases.
Really hoping for a NE Trap Jaw, as the Revelation version (Revelation generally a style I'm so keen on anyway) I found so very disappointing, especially when considering he's traditionally one of the coolest characters.
I think Man-E-Faces blue mask is an ode to the first page of his original comic that he is featured in , but a different color. I think he was holding the mask while entertaining the King and Queen.
I really really hope they will include Buzzoff's wings on Mosquitor! After all, mosquitor is a mosquito lol. Imagine those wings in transparent red on him.
Man-E-Faces is amazing. But I wish he would include his rarely seen alternate weapons from 200X. That version’s blaster would morph into a club and a staff depending on what face he switched to.
I love this whole-wave-at-once approach, and you've sold me on a few of these figures, which is no small feat since I haven't been the biggest fan of the line before now. Great work!
I've really been liking Masterverse stuff, New Eternia has had a great track record of updating a lot of designs I never liked into something really cool. Buzz-Off and Clawful in particular! I'm hopeful that movable claw technology will be utilized in a Dreamworks Scorpia somewhere down the line!
I keep saying that Mattel should offer to their customers a way to download that artwork. They are so beautiful. This line is one of the few where I do regret not keeping any of the boxes because the artwork is part of the wonderful experience of unboxing these figures.
Yeah it's why I've saved all the box art from both masterverse and origins. I even have asked my friends who get figures I don't of I can have the boxes. They open display their figures so they have no problem giving me the boxes.
The New Eternia figures hooked me into the masterverse line. They are awesome. To me Jitsu will continue to be a villain lol. I do prefer Faker with the magneta colored armor. I also had not notice the positioning of the wings on Stratos, I'll also be switching them around.
Just got this version of Faker today, gotta say i never seen a face sculpt wich updates the vintage look so great as on this figure. Really hope we get a He-Man with this exact sculpt, probably my favorite Faker to date. Surpassing the vintage figure for me, he's awesome
I prefer the New Eternia look way more. I mean I have all the Classics and Origins and vintage. It's just awesome they are bringing a fresh new look to the classic MOTU characters with designs inspired by concept art. New Eternia is also hands down my favorite subline
I will always lean towards Classics, but I must admit these look really nice. Masterverse has definitely improved as the line has progressed, as the first couple of waves did not impress me at all. I don't even collect Masterverse but yet I got this new Faker just because I wanted a version with magenta armor. 😁
20:56 Mori Nagayoshi and Tawara Touta both uses spinning face gimmick and interchangeable three faces. Also note: Mori Nagayoshi and Tawara Touta both has rotating drum inside and both has tiny skulls in 25:43
The new faces for man e faces are from the mini comic. Actor and the skull when he's having his internal struggle at the end. I don't recall the new human face though.
I painted Jitsu’s loin cloth fur red orange to match the armor and the unpainted 4 bumps on the back of the armor as well…. I also painted the top fur on the boots gold to match the gold on the armor looks just like the OG now! 😊
Why could they make incredible headsculps for all of the figures in this line, except for he-man, since this line had started I waited for a good he-man head. It makes me sad that the people from mattel disapointed their Fans and costumers with that
I loved MOTU Classics…. It was such an amazing line! That being said, these Masterverse figures are amazing… and you don’t have to take out a second mortgage to collect them if you weren’t able to navigate the infamous Matty Collector website back in the day (not knocking them- they kept the property alive for so many years, and produced some amazing figures along the way). I hope we eventually get New Eternia versions of all of the characters! Thanks for the great review!
Two turn coats. 😂 I guess Storm Shadow was always a good guy, just working under cover to avenge his uncle. Jitsu saw the error of his ways and became a hero. I like this twist for Jitsu, although it's hard not to see him as Fisto's mortal enemy.
I haven’t been able to justify the price points on some of these even though they’re all great figures. Occasionally I’ll pick one up on sale to use as a “powered” up version of an origins figure. My son likes that as a play feature.
The placement of the sword sheath on Jitsu doesn't make sense because he has the golden right open hand. Would've been better if it was on the other side. Still a cool looking figure though.
I like that they are including new looks and options for the characters - it’s what MOTU Classics started off doing but unfortunately they veered away from this path towards the end of the line and just did bland updates. Still not convinced to collect this line and MOTUC still feels and looks better, but hope it continues and is successful

Pixel Dan, you really need to look into the Big Jim line. Without question, Skeletor, Man-E-Faces, and Trap Jaw were inspired by Captain Drake, Zorak, and Iron Jaw. The new eternia Man-E-Faces alternate heads are nods to Big Jim.
Excellent mega-review. I like that doing several figures at once saves having to go through the repetitive elements (the joints, the packaging, etc.) each time. I wonder if say, three figures at a time is the ideal length for a combined review. Brief thoughts on each one:... * Battle Armor He-Man is one that part of me likes, part on me isn't so sure on. The shoulder armor looks clunky, and whilst I like an older, more grizzled He-Man look, but I'd have to see the face sculpt in person to judge it. I'm cherry picking the line, might get this one if/when I see it at the right price, though feels like a variant on the NE He-Man I already have. * Jitsu I like in concept but isn't one I'll madly hunt down. The mouth guard is okay-ish but looks like it belongs on another figure, and the hand should be bulked up a little bit. * Stratos has a lot going for him. I love the mask/hose option, somehow almost gives him a Giger-esue appearance. I like the feather 'necklace' option although looks a little crammed with the armour right up there as well. The colours work well, Stratos has often come off looking a little drab in the past. One I want, again when at the right price. * Man-E-Faces I've been excited about and am grabbing one in the next few days (the others are elusive in the U.K. so far). One of my favourite MOTU characters and they've captured him well here. I believe the blue option face is a (?also?) reference to the mask Man-E was wearing in the opening panel of his vintage mini-comic, although appeared to be Caucasian there. * Faker is my all-time favourite character and I was very excited about when announced, until I saw the head on-line, having been let down by so many poor He-Man head sculpts already. BUT... the head looks okay in this video. High up on my want list. * Buzz-Off is a character I love due to the fact it's the only character's name my Dad could/can ever remember(!), so I buy every version almost like a tradition. I feel his wings could be bulked up a bit, but an awesome figure that I can't wait to get. So out of these, Man-E and Buzz-Off are definites for me, Faker too (maybe the head sculpt is okay after all), and Stratos at the right price. An excellent range of characters, both adding something new but keeping things traditional at the same time.
Great video! Thank you! I find these are great for getting additional armour, weapons, accessories, and parts to augment the Classics figures or making Classics customs. I just wish Jitsu's golden gauntlet was a shade bigger; would've looked killer on Classics Jitsu. That new "Human" Man-E-Faces face is a tribute to one of the proposed faces from a prototype sketch. I think it can be found in the Dark Horse "The Art of MOTU" coffee table book. Emiliano also did an updated version called "Multi-Face," which can easily be Googled, and includes updates of the other faces from that concept sketch.
This iteration of faker and buzz off are my new favorites for those characters. I think this is true for jitsu and Stratos as well. It actually makes me wanna look into customizing an origins jitsu to have those accessories
Since iWas a kid i always had a sweet spot for insects and spiders ( i keep tarantulas since 1998) and i wasn't really happy with vintage Buzz Off, but this version is really cool. Man e Faces and Faker are awesome too.
I love classics but honestly been liking some of these masterverse figures even more....I know people complain about the elbow joint in masterverse when the arm is straight it makes the arm look a bit skinny at the elbow... I agree but the one thing i always hated on the classics buck is the biceps look like giant tumors...It looks like they are flexing their biceps but arms are straight its just not shaped like a bicep and l always thought it looked like they had tumors on their arms...lol
I also love this Buzz Off, but I do wish they gave him three clawed fingers instead of pincers. I'm on the opposite side as I love that Battle Armor He-Man head sculpt. I dug the long haired Savage He-Man head and this takes things a step further, which I wanted!
I think the Faker & Buzz-Off are great! Finally got that magenta armor for Faker! That Man-E is cool too. But really looking forward to the Ram Man & Clawful(who a buddy of mine already has!)
I feel like these figures should have gotten their own dedicated reviews. But that's just me. Not to mention it would be easier on my playlists since i sort them by factions.
I really like the body they used on the masterverse figs. I hope Thundercats has this kind of body sculpt. Mattel should have continued Thundercats when they still had the license
This might sound silly, but they have yet to release a He-man in the Masterverse line that I find tolerable (the vintage inspired anniversary release was ok, but a little odd at the same time). So I dunno, I just can't get into the line if the main character (revelation, new eternia, ...) always comes out so goofy looking :-
they might be saving the best for last lol.. honestly all the attempt at HM face (and figure) was underwhelming at varying degrees, so I do understand why someone like you (and me also as of last yr) kind of gave up on the line.. imo the line is improving and evolving a bit.. give it bit more time (but not your £$€¥ of course yet if u don't like 'em ;), it's simple as repainting that new Faker's face/head and re-releasing a better Masterverse HM for a start.. they're trying things out now, so takes time
its the second time that the best he man head cames with faker, cause the revelation head that comes with the revalation faker is also way better than the he man one
I agree...That 2nd faker head sculpt is very over looked.. Took me less than a min to put black dots on the red eyes and it's honestly one of my favorite He-man head sculpts... The big jaw and wind swept hair look really dope when posed correctly.
I'm still waiting for them to do a good He-Man head sculpt 🤷♂️. An speaking of head sculpts I wish on comparison Dan would do head swaps with a Classic.

I’m loving the new eternia line. Dan do know or think that the revolution and revelation characters that have been made, will they be made in a new eternia look? Eg Spikor?
NE Battle Armor He-Man is a nice figure but I had to improve few things! I took the thigh armor off, replaced the head with the classic looking one from Origins Battle-Armor He-Man, switched the pauldron to the right shoulder so I could use Revelation Faker's shield and switched the weapon with the 40th anniversary He-Man (non-exclusive) as it was less shiny and it matched the armor better (+ I liked the slightly metallic weapon on my 40th He-Man anyway, so win-win! :D ) Now, looking at the Jitsu review, I'm thinking about kit bashing King Randor out of him, using NE Battle-Armor He-Man's head and some paint. Hmmmm :D I'm sure we're getting King Randor in Masterverse sooner or later but that's a tempting idea... :D Great review Dan, as usual! :)
