That's amazing that they could do this performance on their home stage. It would have been a shame if they had to shorten and downsize the performance for a studio setup.
@@alexandraalexfischer No female bare breasts in this video clip though, that what foreign tourists come to see when they visit the Moulin Rouge in Paris, the above is just a tame version of what can be seen at the real Moulin Rouge, this is the public theatre that allows children from the age of 6 watch these adult shows with their parents, here in the UK any public theatre manager who put on such a show would be fined and if children were found in the audience a criminal charge, shows that are staged at the Moulin Rouge,Lido-De-Paris etc are just adult shows and should not be down loaded on to the main platform for children to see, these girls are mostly foreign who sign contracts to dance with their breasts exposed on the public stage, and for this they are paid more than the other female dancers who prefer to dance covered up,and were money is involved moral ethics fly out of the window.
Ugh I'm a student from aisa and it's going to take me at least 8-10 years before I can save enough to visit New York, let alone watch a Broadway show. But I'll do it someday!
some of y'all in this comment section are annoying as hell. people don't seem to realize that a movie musical will never translate exactly the same in a stage version. also, people that are saying rude things just for the sake of being rude with no actual constructive criticism just sound bitter and like they have nothing better to be doing.
1.) That’s true. Some things that people are able to do in movies can’t be done on stage as easily or effectively (if at all). What matters, though, is that the producers do the best they can with the general source material in spite of the limits to evoke the same overall spirit and energy. 2.) Some people will like it, and some people won’t. That’s human nature, so best to agree to disagree and carry on. To each his/her own.
@@Hermioneswish I feel like it's because she doesn't come into the show until the sparkling diamond medley, and she's not normally in this number anyway. But I dont know for sure
The sets are so GORGEOUS!! The dancing is fantastic and the costumes are stunning. But why did they change all of the music??? Because the new music is simply HORRIFYING!
Just saw the tour. Very lackluster. The book is completely hollowed out and not engaging. The immersive experience on Broadway does NOT transfer to a tour where they have to rely on flats and drops for scenery. There were a few good performances but not enough to carry the lack of book and tech.
Burning down the house for the introduction of the Children of the Revolution 😬 No, just No! I was so excited this musical is going to open in the West End in November but now I don't think I'll even bother. I know films and musicals are different and some music rights were an issue but "updating" something so iconic just means it loses its meaning. I knew the iconic film would translate differently on stage as a musical but all of the snippets I've seen so far from the Broadway version have left me feeling flat about this musical. I'll stick with the film and go see other musicals instead! And that isn't to say I'm knocking the cast as they are insanely talented and phenomenal in their own rights and they seem to be doing their best with their material but it's still a No for me!
Not the real Moulin Rouge which performs in Paris that includes female dancers with their breasts exposed dancing with male dancers,it is not artistic nor culture and to allow children into the theatre with their parents is a disgrace,no moral ethics at all,and such shows are banned here in the UK in public theatres.
@@joshr9417 Oh dear,i have upset you,i didn't know that you were a lover of dancers exposed breasts, their natural function is to feed babies and not to be exposed on the public stage and dancing with male dancers and an audience of mostly foreign tourists who queue up to watch something that is banned in their public theatres, the Moulin Rouge and other Paris public theatres have lost their moral compass, and for children from the age of 6 to be allowed in with their parents to watch a 18+ adul stage perfomance is a disgrace, and it is odd, that all the video clips from these Parisian public theatres are the only ones on u tube,
@@johnquinn7068 that’s not what they’re saying what you’re talking has nothing to do with this musical and the only thing they have in common is the name so maybe take your frustrations out on something having to do with the actual moulin rouge
@@emerysheren9558 This show just makes the name Moulin Rougue respectable which it isn't,it just exploits young foreign female dancers, and if the musical is going to show the true face of what the Moulin Rouge does just include those young grls who expose their breasts to the male dancers and a audience of stangers and say that the Moulin Rouge allows children from the age of 6 to watch these 18 + public adult stage performances which you wouldn't allow your children to watch, thank you, just show the real thing not just the can Can in the musical.
@@johnquinn7068 no the musical is not going to show the “true face” of the moulin rouge…because they’re two separate things. They may take dances that they do there, such as the can can, but it’s not the moulin rouge so I don’t know why you’re bothering commenting this on this video
How so, I'm really curious because after the pandemic I'd hope to see at least a touring N American production. Was it the songs, singing, dancing, stage set, acting? Can you be a bit more specific. TY.
Comparisons between media are meaningless. These performances are not “the original” versus “the copy.” If you want to see the movie, then choose to do so.
This is tame for the Moulin Rouge as in Paris their public stage performances include young dancing girls with their breasts exposed dancing with male dancers in front of a public paying audience, the Moulin Rouge also allows children from the age of 6 to watch 18+ adult rated stage shows accompnied with their parents, such public shows are banned here in the UK and will soon be banning U Tube from including video clips of the shows under the UKs 'On line harm' laws, such public performances have no purpose in a civilised society as it just uses these girls as sex objects otherwise why dance with their breasts exposed,it is not artistic and not culture as most of the girls are foreign.
I was lucky enough to see it twice. Just an incredible show. My fav dancer Jessica lee goldyn and taken over for Robyn burder (the lady with the blonde bun) and I got to see and meet her. It brought me so much joy.
I just watched this in Chicago the other night and I CANNOT get it out of my head!!! It was my first broadway show and it was INCREDIBLE. Everyone involved is so insanely talented (including the lighting technicians, set builders, pit musicians, etc.)
This video reminds me my time traveling abroad just to watch this musical in December 😭 this show is awesome 😭 the cast their voice and acting and all the songs and the set are all just wonderful 😭
Watching this made me tear up because this past June I saw this amazing musical and what a SHOW for my first Broadway musical to see. If the tour is coming to your city or if you are going to New York. Go see it. It’s definitely not to be missed.
This gave me major goosebumps! 😍 I love the film so much and seeing this show would be an absolute dream 💖 can't believe how they've all brought it to life! The comeback show after everything that's happened recently will be absolutely insane!
It was far from the movie. I felt it strayed too far from the movie and the mashups with modern music was a let down so there less emotional connection
I really want to see this show because the movie is easily one of my top 5 films but the soundtrack for this musical is so far from the movie it hurts.
it will be so hard to decide between this and JLP for best musical. I've seen both and They were both outstanding but they are so completely different from each other. JLP has an amazing story and acting, but Moulin Rouge is a spectacle and so much fun. I'm glad I am not a tony voter I would be so torn.
Alright I’m getting obsessed.. edit; like my current musical obsession, (agglam) first time around i was not obsessed, but i do/did really like it. 9 months later, here i am. beginning of my actual MR! phase.
I just watched this and I got goosebumps. Holy moly do I miss this. This, this is what I can't wait to do when lockdown ends and Broadway comes back. There is no party, no event, nothing like what you experience when you see this musical. I cried every time I was in the theatre. I felt the magic every! single! time! There is nothing and I mean NOTHING like this.
the best broadway show ive seen in my entire existence of living. the singing, dancing, script. everything was perfection. id see it a million more times if i could
I’m so glad I haven’t watched the movie otherwise I would be complaining like a purist. I was very young when the movie came out 20 years ago so I only remember the trailer. I watched this show 2 days ago in London and it blew me away! In fact the show is the reason I will watch the movie now.
