Mouly - Studio Set (1995) 

PS this was not a studio set , it was recorded on a TDK 90 cassette tape at my dads house in the bedroom after a day of cutting plates at music house , nothing planned, really happy that people like it though, ❤

Not even the 90s were ready for the 90s.

The 90s and early 2000's are in like a purgatory state of having music that sounds super nostalgic, yet so damn futuristic at the same time. I'm just in awe of how well they manage to use the music techniques available at the time and still create something so far ahead of it's time.

You can tell it’s a deep, spacey jungle album just from the cover alone.

Music will never be as futuristic and have as much potential as Drum & Bass in 1995.

1:16:58 The way that the bass moves down into the second note on the amen crash is so good. Plus the gain of the bass is so high that it distorts and kicks the volume of the crash down lol. It adds so much energy. Fav part for sure.

I played a very intense match of chess with my friend while we were listening to this. It was epic.

Alex Moul (AKA Mouly) inspired me heavily firstly with his incredible talent and creativity on a skateboard (he was a professional skateboarder who helped usher street skateboarding into the U.K in the late 80's early 90's), and then with his awesome musicality. Hope he's doing well wherever he is.

As someone who discovered DnB in their late 30s, i can only thank you and all the wonderful people putting up this massive amount of work to share this music and keep it alive so more people can discover it.

I put this mix on, and the opening 15 seconds were so beautiful that I just had to go outside, sit on some grass and watch the sunset, without even listening to the mix. Now I'm back home and about to start it up again. Only truly powerful music can influence your life like this!
