In this video I will be reviewing Mount and Blade 2 : Bannerlord xbox edition in 2023 . Hopefully, by the end, you will have a better understanding if it is worth playing
I find my self fully enjoying every time i come back to replay again. The whole building yourself up from scratch is great. In future games i hope they can do a good story line for once lol
Got the game on pretty much day 1 on Steam (there were bugs, but nothing that ruined the enjoyment, just silly things that broke the game, like trading a fish for a castle). My 1st goal and play-through was to basically become Éomer from Lord of the Rings and create the "Riders of Rohan" with a massive Cavalry only army that would charge the enemy.
Bit late here, but excellent review 🙂 I've played some Warband w/some mods, but wanted to see if it was worth playing Bannerlord on Xbox as I have a nice TV in the comfort of my living room. Thank You! 😀
Might be nit picky, but everytime he said "Bannerlord II" i was bothered lol there is no Bannerlord I, it is the second Mount & Blade subtitled "Bannerlord".
The game is perfect except for the fact that on console, when you conquer all the territories of an empire, their noblemen will continue to exist and harass and raid you in perpetuity even if their kingdom has been gone for a century, making the end game either a total tedium or a mass execution that then invariably causes your own kingdom to revolt and dethrone you. On PC, when a Kingdom has no territories for 3 years, it automatically dissolves into small clans that eventually die off. It’s literally one fucking line of code to fix a problem that makes the entirety of late game unplayable on console, and they haven’t bothered to make that patch. Other than that, the game is the exact same. Which is frustrating.
@@Tylerrrrrb it’s exactly that deep lmao. And it’s something they actually, literally patched just 3 weeks ago lmao, only a week or two after I made the comment you’re replying to. My complaint was valid and so ubiquitously held among the playerbase that the developers recognized it as a problem and fixed it, wildly improving the game. Be snarky and incorrect somewhere else.
@@Nonviableaccount if you conquer all the territories what’s the point in playing the campaign any longer … you also play on the easiest settings and save before every fight . Just make a new campaign.. that’s what you’re gonna do anyway when every other clan dies off … moron
I'm thinking about buying the game for PS4. However, I'm in doubt whether the console can handle battles with thousands of NPCs on the battlefield without the FPS dropping too much.
@@barlinerbar6251 I bought bro hahahahaha, They limit the number of troops simultaneously in battle and as they die, enemies appear. Do you play on ps4? If so, is there a way to separate the cavalry and archers into separate units?
I’ve conquered north, west and southern empires alongside half of Vlandia and Khuzait… I’ve yet to run into a crash. Saying it sucks without mods can apply to so many games that are on both PC and Console, but I don’t disagree having mods would make the experience better for console players… it is a shame as there are so many QoL mods.
@@djangomatador9442 personally I loved the game, but I am playing it on next gen via Gamepass, so I didn’t pay for it and on next gen it will run a lot smoother. On old gen you may experience frame-rate issues and the scale of the battles may be smaller. In my honest opinion I’d say save your money for a next gen console or an affordable PC… unless your heart is set on getting it, as it is genuinely a decent action rpg / rts game. If you’re set on getting it, watch some streamers play it vanilla, watch a few more videos based on what you want out of it and then make a decision… nothing worse than buyers remorse.
Yea the multiplayer for PlayStation 5 is kind of dead. Rarely one or two full games online most just weekends. Aside from that single players pretty fun
There is mod mod for that on PC, turning it open world multiplayer. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fD9WK7dG_so.html&ab_channel=MitchManix
First person I agree with the console version is so bad on the UI it’s so over complicated for no reason. The orginal game was perfect but now we have a cluttered mess on my screen
Technically yes but in actuality it's mount & blade 3 because mount & blade came out then a couple years later warband came out. While it is a dlc to mount and blade. It was released as its own game.
@@justinwynn7726 with fire and sword was also released by itself. by that logic this is the 4th standalone you can buy. but its the devs who made it that gets to name it xd. they say its 2, the others just dlcs, so thats how it is.
i really wanted to get the pc version but i decided to go with ps4 because it was cheaper. however, i soon realised that i had been cheated as there are no mods or cheats or much of anything in the console version compared to pc where you can do pretty much whatever you please. Its a real shame as i really dont think it could be that much of a task; skyrim managed it so why cant bannerlord? :P
Eh, some games on Ps5 you can (call of duty) and others just don't have it programmed to use both controller and K&M. I would either Google it or just trial and error your games. Games like BF2042 punish console players for using K&M iirc.
I think with the 1.1.0 patch, the game is complete and a full good experience can be had. Hundreds of hours. It could still be better of course, but so could any game.
so is there like an actual story campaign? and how much of it can you complete without forming an army? If that makes sense lol. Thanks for the great vid!
Thank you for watching, I would not recommend it for the story, it’s more like very brief objectives . the game is first and foremost a sandbox where you make your goals.
@@godlymegatron5698 I mean I love rpgs And I love strategy games And I like kingdom management games Mashing them all together just turn to be a jank cluster fuck of everything Personally I didn’t enjoy it but if you try it again you might like it
