Around 6:20 in the video, things go over the top, with tornados snaking down at 10, 2, and 4 oclock, you're barely speaking and driving into it, while computer calmly says 'return to home' and meanwhile the dog is snoring furiously. Deserves an Oscar.
Im argueung the semantics here but mainly so people can gauge the threat better; all those mini tornados you see are subvortices inside the main rotation which is nearly invisible. Theres some debris/dust orbiting around in a larger rotation and thats the true tornado
The juxtaposition of your dog snoring through a violent storm is hilarious. Also appreciate the fact that you didn't get all hysterical like so many other storm chasers. You stayed calm which allows the viewer to better perceive the storm on its own merits. We don't need a hysterical play-by-play description of the obvious. So thank you for that.
Right. What does that say about an animals 6th sense of incoming weather, though? Or, is it just that it's chased enough storms it isn't bothered anymore?
@@StasisChasing yea thank you most of all for the footage! Glad you were not in its path. When it had over 3 multiple vortices and spirals going up, that was mesmerizing and terrifying that’s why I think I love looking at tornadoes (vicariously) is because of the major duality of their beauty and horror.
That footage starting at 6:13 is some of the wildest multi-vortex tornado footage ever. Also, look how fast that thing moved across the road! What a beast! Glad it seemed to be mostly over fields.
Yeah! I hate chasers who roar and shout over the video!! There was onee guy I tried to follow years ago, and everry video was him shoutinng and roaring!!
This is destined to be a classic due to several things: The completely incredible evolving tornado(es) that are beautifully backlit; your dog being so chill that he/she is actually asleep; but most of all your calm demeanor. You let the storm tell its own story instead of screaming for us to LOOK AT IT OH MY GOD (yes, we see it) and IT'S GONNA BE A HUGE WEDGE!!! (even if it's a little landspout). This is some beautiful video. Well done, sir!
I'm seeing that people like storm chaser videos that don't have any talking. I, who am from northeastern Brazil, talk a lot when recording the calm storms here, imagine if I were storm hunting in the United States! 🤣
Classic “egg-beater”……..nice that we could see the meso above the vortices churning and spawning them. That it avoided being rain-wrapped was a bonus leading to the multi-vortex show. Astounding footage.
I appreciate you not yelling and screaming like a lot of chasers do, its so annoying and obnoxious! You got some great footage, I was raised in Iowa in fact Iowa city Iowa. We didnt see a lot of tornados but did have a lot of severe storms. Back in 1966 a tornado did come through town and hit the city park everyone was there to watch the fireworks on the 4 th of July, lots of damage trees uprooted cars smashed the little zoo was hit after it crossed the river it headed north to farm country. Have a safe spring chasing these amazing storms just stay safe!!
@@StasisChasing LOL, Reed Trimmer is the worst. Maybe it is an act he does for the camera. Others start hollowing too at the sight of a tornado they have seen many times.
@@BTSloan70 Nah Reed is just that passionate and very much a adrenaline junkie and does amazing scientific experiments to better understand tornadoes, not many do more for the science than Reed. His whole life revolves around extreme weather, not to mention one of the nicest guys, and loves to teach what he knows. We honestly need more like Reed that is passionate about the science side of tornadoes. I understand he gets crazy literally every time, but its just who he is, he is that passionate about it. His weather briefings are super educational, iv learned a ton from him.
@@donny5318 I do love his weather briefings, and I agree that he is a great educator who has contributed a lot to the science. But it is also a worthy criticism of him that he chooses to yell and scream. Even when he is giving instruction or asking a question to someone else, it is always a scream if a tornado is in view. One cannot merely chalk it all up to "passion" as it is important to maintain some level of composure after years of experience.
Wow, never seen a tornado with do many tentacles. It changed do muvh! It would dissipate and a few seconds later come back massive again. Really good catch. 20 miles by road from me, probably 10 as the crow flies. We only got a sprinkle and no significant wind. Thankful and prayers for this small farming community.
Reed Timmer would not tolerate anyone snoring in an otherwise absolutely fantastic intercept video. Thanks for not screaming though. Congrats. Looks like you were all alone out there too. Amazing.
Reed Timmer can’t keep his fucking mouth shut for more than three seconds per video. For a guy with two doctorates, you’d think he’d let them speak for him, and not his overinflated boisterous chaser ego.
This video is so awesome. We see so much of the mechanics of the tornado as it churns, splits, ascends then descends again. There’s enough light on the horizon to highlight the tornado’s silhouette. Altogether the best video I’ve seen of its type.
That is the most bizarre tornado I’ve ever seen. Great footage. I’m hoping an explanation is forthcoming for why there were so many twins, triplets, and whatever-the-hell this thing is produced by this outbreak. Not you look at the nullschool world 3D wind map it is equally bizarre and the most active I’ve ever seen.
I think this video from Skip Talbot talks about a similar phenomenon a little-he discusses how maybe we need to see the tornado as not just the tendrils dropping down and broaden where we expect them to come from ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6PWtNkh-MPE.html
This happened on my birthday. Thanks for the amazing shots of this storm. Tornadoes are my favorite phenomenon but I feel terrible for the people who suffer from the storm.
I haven't kept track of how many individual tornadoes were like this yet, but the videos from this day, especially this one, display some of the craziest subvortice action I've ever seen on a tornado, almost up there with El Reno 2013 Also, your channel slogan should be "Calm enough to hear a snoring dog"
I can't believe what have been watching,i live in uk,i can't put it into words.I can't believe the power of nature..Insaine Goddess you all..your in my prayers.. Plymouth UK
I am so amazed by how many of these incredibly photogenic tornadoes in this outbreak are also multivortex. The dog's snores are awesome. Also you can see two spooked deer make a run for it. What a great capture, thank you.
@@keiannaj :/ I don't know if the video was edited and reposted, but I can't find them anymore and I've watched it multiple times. It was around the time of the thunder and lightning, and the cows started running. The deer flushed out of a small clump of trees and ran back toward the far away trees on the horizon. I think there were more dog snores, and maybe a longer video?
instead of screaming , Multivortex , this is not good guys ." you have snoring in the back ground . So much better .Great job ! and thank you for not screaming and ruining the video
Amazing footage! It's crazy how these cells can spin off so many different types of vortices, especially those multiples! Love how unperturbed your dog was! ✌️😸
As someone who is obsessed with severe weather, especially tornados, I have to thank you. I was watching multiple storm chasers follow these live. Your video is the first ever tornado video I watched where I was allowed to just experience it and hear the ROAR!! That was absolutely beautiful. But to top it off, your dog is passed out and snoring and I couldn’t stop giggling 😂❤️
These tornadoes are an excellent example of why in Skywarn training we are told to look at what is happening at ground level as well as in the sky. If you were looking solely at the sky you might have missed the ground circulation that was still going on after the visible part of the funnels appeared to lift.
Reed Timmer can learn a lot from you :P Sometimes we want peace while we watch nature's beauty. The doggo's snoring made it seem more serene. That sure was a weird one.
Awesome footage of this multi-vortex beast. With the way it kept trying to drop different tornadoes, I had a feeling it was going to combine into a mult-vortex terror (could see many different other potential tornadoes trying to drop out of that mesocyclone complex that didn't, too). Very angry mesocyclone structure.
Geez man. Insane footage! Just when you think it’s about to cross the road, another tube spawns, and then another. There had to be at least 6 different vortices that crossed the road. Easily some of the best footage of a tornado I’ve ever seen.
That was so eerie to watch it develop with barely any noise. Towards the end of the video when you were sitting on the road, I thought I was watching a time lapse until you started driving. The speed of the rotation was intense! Great vid, and please give the sweet sleeping doggo all the skritches.
This is a good example of why you need to not focus on one tornado, or there might be another right behind you. When I was working back in the early 90's, a tornado came through, and one of the guys watched cross the highway. But what he didn't see was a second one coming up from behind. It twirled him like a top, before leaving him there a little worse for wear. It put him in the hospital with a story to tell.
My husband's uncle was a JP there in 70s and 80s. Neill Chicken. Family farm is by Arispe, so I was especially interested in this video. Visited the area many times. 😊
My goodness. The last minute of your footage was both ominous and spectacular. I am not sure I have ever seen a cloud rotation produce that many funnels at once. Thank you for your work.
Excellent footage with the multiple vortices! 🌪️🌪️ Thank you for sharing your drama-free experience! Your snoring doggo🐕 cracked me up! I, too thought it was a cow.🐄 ☮️
Thank you for this footage! I felt privileged being able to witness this, all the way from Germany. These clouds seem alive and dancing. It was beautiful. Like godly creatures.
Neat. So sad to watch all the damage. I was glued to RU-vid most of Fri-Sat-Sun watching everything unfold. It looks like the next storm will be here on Tuesday the 30th and my little town is right over the transition line they're predicting for level 2 and level 3 risks. Then on Thursday we're supposed to get some strong winds and rain again. The mid-west is going to have a wild ride for the back half of April.
That thing is serious looking. I saw a waterspout up close and personal down in the Florida Keys long time ago. It was freaky looking. It came down from the sky and when it hit the ocean it turned white
