Mount Bromo is an active volcano located in East Java, Indonesia. This mountain has a height of about 2,329 meters and is located within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Mount Bromo has beautiful scenery and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Indonesia. Local residents call it by the name "Bromo" which comes from the word Brahma, the creator god in Hinduism. Mount Bromo is surrounded by a sea of sand called the Tengger Caldera and is often visited by tourists to enjoy the view of the sunrise over the mountain. Apart from that, tourists can take jeep trips across the Tengger Caldera and hiking to the crater of Mount Bromo, but several times the area around Mount Bromo is closed for safety reasons due to its status as an active volcano.
