Ash is way more dangerous then lava here. When the lava comes out 99.9% of the time end up in safe spaces and no one is hurt. On the other hand all these ashes end up in our lungs with time.

Volcanoes are so beautiful!!!🌋🗻 I can NEVER understand WHY do people live at the bottom of these erupting volcanoes? This is just an event waiting to eat your house up.. Move somewhere where your hard earned money, that has built your life, doesn't get swallowed up by an erupting volcano.
Same for hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, wildfires, gang violence, drought, blizzards---it's no different, fool, there is something everywhere, it's called life. If someplace were perfect, so many people would move there that it would be overcrowded & you'd be whining, "Why do people live where it's so crowded that you can't afford a house & there are traffic jams & you wait in line forever." BTW, your compassion &empathy for these people is...how shall I say...nonexistant?
The soil around volcanoes is very fertile, therefore people normally return to their old homes after an eruption. All around the world people have to live with dangers from nature, that has always been and will always be. You cannot run away from all of them. This is called life. And now that all over planet Earth the weather conditions are changing because of climate change you are nowhere safe any longer.
Etna is a very safe volcano lava has never hurt people or houses here. Maybe some mountain cabins from time to time but that's normal. 😅 Fun fact, some of the wealthiest towns in the Catania area are actually closer to the volcano.

P.S.---Not sure it's a "fun fact" to live near a volcano, but most of us live somewhere where there is some potential disaster---we should never forget that Mother Nature owns our butts if she wants them, tho' we may get away with it for a while!
Ihr tut ja gerade so als wäre das neu, dass der Ätna ausbricht., oder der ständig aktive Stromboli! Die Lava vom Ätna war von vielen Jahren bis kurz vor Zafferana geflossen, bevor sie stoppte.
