A drive up the Mount Evans Highway. The highest paved road in North America located on one of Colorado's fourteeners. (Mount Evans is 14,265 feet high). The video starts at about 10,750 feet and climbs to a parking lot about 140 feet below the summit. Turn on your 'highway jams' and enjoy the ride. (Sorry volcano fans, no molten rock in this video).

It's a two-lane highway. You come back on the same road. It's gorgeous at the top; it's about a 15 to 20 minute walk up to the very summit.

2:05 scared the ever living daylights out of me the first time I drove that. The camera doesn't quite do it justice, but from the drivers seat, it's like the horizon drops to the hood of your car as the road crests and tightens at the same time. I can never get tired of driving this road though. On a side note, those mountain goats know no fear and I swear they have tongues so long, Gene Simmons would be jealous

Drove this for the first time last weekend. Climbing 14ers doesn't bother me but for some reason being in a car going uphill where the road tightens up and you can't see the road ahead, just "out into space" really bothered me in a few sections. Going down wasn't nearly so bad.

NY has a road kinda like that, goes up one way about 4650' to the peak of Whiteface Mountain. It it has a rock guard wall and looks like a sloped driveway next that road!
