In May 2024, I went on an adventure of a lifetime. I was able to cross Mount Everest Base Camp off my bucket list!
In part 2, we started in Namche, and made our way to Everest Base Camp.
The weather was perfect the entire way, and only started getting cooler once we got close to Thukla.
I definitely recommend going in May, that way you don't have to overpack like I did. I'll post a separate video on what you should bring 🫡

The views were stunning. Seeing all those people (and donkeys) walking close to the edge had me panicking. The skinny bridges must have been crazy scary but the color of those streams are beautiful. Makes me want to jump on in!!

Arguably the best views in the world! What’s crazy is we saw a horse fall off the side of a mountain 💔

Dude, you have no idea how refreshing it is to hear an honest assessment and honest feelings about trekking to the base. you actually gave an honest opinion and assessment about conditions, and places where you stayed where everybody else would blow smoke up your ass you gave an honest assessment. Thanks for doing that.

I love that you get to travel so much. Live your best life. I love to see this for you. Also, that’s one hell of a workout you walking for that many hours up all those inclines I know it’s definitely not easy but kudos to you for doing it. I know you’re most likely fit accomplishing this.

There is a much more impressive high trail going up via Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche. Vastly better views than from the Tengboche route everybody walks twice. Why?
@FlyWithVeiga

We had to do the trek as fast as possible, because we didn't want to miss our flight to Bhutan

@@FlyWithVeiga Phortse route is just few hours longer than the normal one. You were going stupidly fast anyway, and suffered. Next time.

@@FlyWithVeiga Side trip to Ama Dablam Base Camp had become quite popular. Either day trip from Pangpoche or go up Phortse - Pangpoche - ADBC and stay at Mingbo Kharka lodges 10 minutes south of ADBC. Caveat being that it is 100m higher than Dingpoche and have to be careful about how you feel. On the other hand then there is no need to stay 2 nights in Dingpoche later. Also possible to go ADBC - Dingpoche on the east side of the river, one boulder field needs to be crossed, avalanche tail from Ama Dablam (check Google Earth). When coming up from the south (Lukla or road head) walk the west side of the river from Ghat and further up via Gumela and the oldest monastery in Khumbu. Possible to stay overnight there also avoiding the huge number of trekkers on the normal Phakding etc trail. When acclimating in Namche do a day hike to Thame and move to Khumjung for the second or third "Namche" night, then continue to Phortse. For Gokyo only use the "Cultural Gokyo" route instead of the quick up-and-down via Dole. Namche - Tengboche - Phortse - Thora/Thare - Nha - Gokyo - Renjo La - Thame - Namche. Several real villages and biggest monasteries, not only lodge clusters on potato fields like on the Dole route. Chhukhung valley of course is worth a visit from Dingpoche. Easy to spend time up there, hike in via Pikey Peak - Jumbesi - Nuntala.
