MOUNT ISA MINE AND MOONDARRA CARAVAN PARK - QUEENSLAND 

We arrived at Mount Isa Queensland and stayed at the AAOK Moondarra Caravan Park located approximately 5km out of Mount Isa. A small park with grassed areas, power, water hook up and is dog friendly. The town is built right up to the Mount Isa Mine the world’s largest single producer of copper, silver, lead and zinc. The mine covers an area of over 4 kms and is 1900 meters at its deepest point and employs 1200 people.
It’s an amazing site to see from the town lookout. The population of Mount Isa is approx. 18,300 with 30% of its employment involved in the mining and minerals industry.
