Here is a history walk of the swinging suspension bridges and the railway tunnel under the mine entrance at Mount Morgan in Central Queensland. so please enjoy.
My Gran was born in Mount Morgan at the start of last century. Her father worked at the mines (admin). The swinging bridges and the railway were two things she spoke about a lot. She also used to talk about running the cutter. Have several relatives including two babies buried in the cemetery there. Really loving these visits. Thank you!
Thank you for your family history story. A few families can relate to the Mount in the way of family members living there or working at the mine. So much history up Mount Morgan I enjoy exploring the history and showing people.

Amazing to see how many people used to live up there in the day be nice to see the heritage restored as I dont hear of it flooding up there much anymore
What a great video Mark enjoyed it very much very brave of you to walk through that long grass and going across that bridge and thank you for doing so.. My Mums people were from Mt Morgan and she was born there in1923 and her mother was the first white woman born in Mt Morgan .... My brother and I spent many holidays in the Mount and we even went to school there for 2 years so we used to walk across the old bridge that was replaced with the new suspension bridge... It is a shame that more is not done to those places of interest those bridge structures could be cleaned up and the old rail line also for tourist walks I'm sure the Rockhampton council could dispatch a wipper snipper crew once a month to do the job,.. but if they could not restore a Heritage listed bridge than grass cutting is out of the question,.... anyway thanks again Mark.....
