Thanks for the video , looking to do this same red dot install on a CZ 712 , having a starting point for screw size and length will be very helpful. That is a beautiful shotgun , for some reason the red dot looks very natural sitting on top of it .
I had a rib mount for my red dot/reflex sight and did like the long eye relief. I asked my gunsmith the cost of drill and tapping my Winchester SXP, he wanted $40 @ hole, $160. So, I traded in my SXP for new SXP Universal Hunter drilled and factory drilled & tapped for $100. Since the shotgun is a 3.5" model, with an alloy receiver; I did not want to risk the warranty having a gunsmith drill on it.
I would love to know this too. There’s so little information about drilling and tapping single shot 12 gauges. I have an ATI nomad. Basically the rebranded version of your same gun. But mine actually has holes on the side for a saddle mount that’s been out-of-stock for more than a year now. (ATI12NMDMT) I’m ready to drill and tap just because I’m sick of waiting. But I’d love ppls opinions on if it can be reliably done.
If I brought a semiauto Ithaca 10 gauge shotgun to my gunsmith and asked him to drill holes in the receiver to mount a red dot he would do 2 things. 1st thing he would do is laugh thinking it was a joke. Next he would hand me back the gun and ask me to kindly never walk into his shop again.
