Long John is a beginner run located at Mount Snow. The trail runs from the summit of the mountain, down the Main Face, to the Main Base Area. The trail is the longest at the ski area and is the mountain's signature beginner run. The trail starts off kind of off the back of the mountain, but it quickly turns around. The trail then runs straight across the ridge for a little bit, until it reaches near the top of the Carinthia Area. The trail then takes a sharp left and continues mellowly back to the Main Base Area.
Mount Snow is a ski area located in West Dover, Vermont, which is located in the Southern portion of the state. Mount Snow is owned by Vail Resorts and is therefore on the Epic Pass. Since it is the closest ski area in Vermont to Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York City, Mount Snow is a very popular ski area, and can therefore often be quite busy. Mount Snow is known for being mostly intermediate groomers, which fill up the Main Face of the mountain, but it also has a nice variety of steeper trails on the North Face of the mountain, and has some of the largest terrain parks in New England, dedicating a whole area of the mountain to terrain parks, called Carinthia. In the summer, Mount Snow is home to scenic lift rides and mountain biking.
